Beaten, burned, and still loves. These are just a few things that animals have to go through when being used for testing, and being abused. One, however, who was put through pain and still loves is Gucci. Gucci, a three-month old chow mix was being chased down a road on May twenty first of nineteen ninety four by men who were out to kill. This three-month old puppy was hanged, beaten, and burned. When Doug James had saw the little ball of fire being chased by the three men he stepped in and saved the puppy. However, having to have his eye lids repaired, third degree burns, losing the tips of his ears, and despite all of that Gucci still loves.(Specker and Lspecker, 2015) The people who burned, hanged and beat Gucci had no morals. But they only got probation for what they did. Gucci was on the brink of only to know that the people who did this to her we're going to be roaming around. If those three men could do this to a three-month old puppy they could do it to any animal.(Specker and Lspecker, 2015) Animals should not be abused and tested on for human needs.

Both of these topics are serious and can be taken many different ways. Animal abuse is one term for bringing harm to an animal. The dictionary definition of animal abuse is,” The crime of inflicting physical pain, suffering or death on an animal, usually a tame one, beyond necessity for normal discipline.” (1981) This is one of the many definition of this term. Animal abuse can be anything from beating your dog to putting them in fighting with another animal. There have been many stories of animal abuse over the years from dogs being burned, to kittens being used as a chew toy. Putting any animal in harm or causing them pain should be against the
First and foremost, testing on animals has led to advancements in numerous areas of medical treatment that has saved thousands of people since the testings began. How? Well, animals have a very similar body structure to humans, which makes them prime examples for testing medications. Chimpanzees have 99% of the same DNA as humans do, and even mice are 98% genetically similar to the human race. Animals and humans both share the same complex, orderly body systems, and for this reason, they are readily used to study animal tissues and the way they react to certain procedures. The tissues can then be compared to the way human tissues would react without having to actually use these human tissues. ”It is a legal requirement to carry out animal testing to ensure they are safe and effective," said Dr. Paul Drayson when talking about the advantages of animal testing and making sure that medical procedures and medications are safe for humans.
Animals testing debate revolves around animal rights and moral status of human beings and animals. Animals are subjected to distress and affliction for the benefit of people. Human beings have a higher moral status and enjoy fundamental rights and privileges that animals lack, and, therefore, potential animal rights violations are outweighed by greater human benefits of animals testing.
Animal testing has helped us for years discover cures for sickness in humans and sometimes even animals. But as long as they test the animals humanely, animals can be tortured with pain from the testing. However many efforts are being made to reduce the testing to a minimum. Scientists know that without the tests they wouldn’t know how to check the safety of new drugs.
18% would feel safe if an animal is said to be safe on a product.
In the early nineteenth century, animal experiments emerged as an important method of science and marked the birth of experimental physiology and neuroscience as we know it today. It has since become an issue of intense public controversy. Many individuals against animal experimentation claim that animals undoubtedly merit the same amount of consideration and respect as humans and should be treated on the basis of the principles of equality. However, there is significant evidence to suggest that there are some circumstances where it is justifiable to use animals in experimentations. The following paper will briefly identify the animal rights proponents which assert that sentience is morally relevant and that animals and humans should be
Animal testing has been around for hundreds of years, scientists back then would perform experiments on living animals to get a better understanding of anatomy and physiology. I believe animal testing has been a massively important thing to science and should be continued. Animal testing has gave us many cures and animals bodies functions and organs are similar to ours which give us efficiency.
Animal testing is something we have all heard about and/or read about. It is something most people would consider to be horrifyingly wrong. Animal testing is something that many claim to be against and will not support. The lines involving animal testing are a tangled web of blurry and missing pieces of a much greater puzzle. On one hand, there are companies that claim to be cruelty free, but the technicalities that are dug up beg to differ. On the other hand, there are big practices such as pharmaceutical practices that use animals to test on in order to create life saving treatments and medicines for humans. Do we make sure to buy cosmetic products that stray away from testing on animals but continue to take medicines
The use of animals for developing new cosmetics and for educational purposes, known as animal testing, has been going on for years. In the medical field, there is a need for testing on animals of various different things. Most importantly, over 26 million animals each year is used for medical purposes: biomedical research and clinical research. Whereas in often areas animal testing is cruel and unnecessary.
When it comes to the topic of animal testing, most of us will readily agree that it is a debatable topic. Where this agreement ends, however, is on the question of whether it helps ensure the safety of drugs for human consumption. Where some are convinced that these drugs tested saves many human lives. Others maintain that these tests serve no purpose in the end because the drugs used fall short to heal human disease. My own view is that testing animals with these drugs is not the most efficient way for animals and humans and because of that we are not exactly similar, making the results unreliable.
Animal experimentation is both painful and unnecessary according to the resources in the literature review section. It is because of the fact that animal physiology, anatomy, and metabolism are not the same as the physiology, anatomy, and metabolism of people (“Problems with Animal Research,” n.d.). The things that animal experimentations cause seem to be spread diseases, defects, and deaths to humans. Therefore, it can easily be said that animal experimentation is the system that pharmaceutical industry created to earn money by ignoring the value of the human life (“The Pharmaceutical Racket,” n.d.). Therefore, animal experimentation should be stopped, and scientists should use the ways such as computer-based simulations, clinical trials,
According to an article by Buzzle, across the globe, new products ranging from drugs for cancer, diabetes, and heart diseases to cosmetic products such as soaps, shampoos, etc., are tested on animals. Even though innocent animals are being used and tested, animal testing should continue because animal testing aids in finding cures for illnesses, not only do humans benefit from animal testing, but animals as well, and even though millions of dollars are being wasted and put into animal testing, the money is used for a good cause. First of all, animal testing has elevated the level of cures for illnesses. For example, animal testing helped make vaccines for countless diseases such as herpes simplex, hepatitis B, polio, rabies, malaria,
Scientists should be allowed to test on animals with no restrictions because oddly enough it benefits animals more than it benefits humans. Even though it doesn’t seem like that would be true, it very much is. One of the best examples of how animal testing helped other animals was when scientists got together to do lab tests on animals and they ended up finding out how to stop rabies. Rabies is a terrible disease that animals normally get. The symptoms are foaming of the mouth, madness, convulsions, muscle aches, and it can be transmitted through to humans through a bite. Although this mainly affects animals and rarely humans the testing on the animals that found the vaccination was very good either way because if an animal has rabies and is
It is beyond my understanding how that cute dog in the window of that store could be one of the 115 million animals that are tested on every year in the U.S. Behind those cute puppy eyes may be a whole world of pain. Animal testing can be using anything on animals from lipstick to medicine to dangerous chemicals. Testing has been going on as early as 1832 (according to this picture on animal-testing.procon.org of a dog geting cut into for research.) and has been continuing for years. Animals are getting tossed into testing, unaware of what is happening to them without choice. Testing may not even be helpful to humans, rendering it useless to hurt animals for. (41 seconds)
For those who are animal lovers and have pets at home, are they your best friend? Your pet could be tested on with products that we use, before the product is on the shelfs. Currentaly doctors are testing on animals to see if the products are safe for us humans to use. The Animal Rights Organization has issued that there is still defaults after testing on animals. These testing is not only hurting the animals but some have still harmed humans, we should find another way to test out the products, all these animal lovers and we are still hurting them, we all should not rely on animals to test on.
Animal testing has long played a part in the science of testing, and it still plays a very important role in the medical world. Testing on animals in order to create a cure for AIDS is one thing, but testing on animals for human vanity is another. Animal testing is used to test the safety of a product. It has kept some very unsafe substances out of the cosmetic world. However, in this day in age, animal testing is not the only way to test the safety of a product. Animal testing in cosmetics has decreased over the years. However, it is still used by many companies in America. Animal testing is not only cruel, but it is also unnecessary in today’s advanced scientific world.
