The hardest part about growing up is letting go of what you were accustomed to, and moving on. As a kid, I was always being adventurous climbing trees, but it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. I would always run to my mother when I was hurt or needed something. My mom has raised me to become strong and independent; just like her. When I mentioned attending UTSA, her face lit up.
My mother never attended college due to her financial issues, but she worked so hard to send me to college. Being apart of the UTSA community can allow me to only change my life, but also my family's as well. My younger brother looks up to me, so attending a well known university and earning my degree can push him to be like me, or even better. My moms
My mother has always had major health issues, going in and out of hospitals all the time, but she wouldn't go down without a fight, and luckily, we still have her here with us. Any mother would want the best for her children, so one day my mom dropped everything in Reynosa and decided to move here, to the United States, in order to give us more opportunities and a real chance to succeed. Therefore, my parents have taught me to be the responsible, strong, and hard working person I am today.
I am a dedicated, caring individual committed to improving the world around me. My dedication to achieving goals, be it academic or in extracurricular activities, has shown time and time again that I will not give up until I meet the goal, even in the face of adversity. I believe that commitment to goals is a valuable quality I could use to contribute to the community. I plan to join clubs that UCF offer students to work with and contribute to the UCF community. I believe working with my fellow peers to be an important and enriching aspect of college life. I am always willing to help someone in need or point them in the

Union County College and I haven’t had much experience in retrospect, nor was i very knowledged of its services and academic offerings. My expectations of how my goals would be viewed were progressively high. Despite the presumption that a common county college wouldn’t grant me the success i wanted, I took my chances with Union County College, applied and waited for my expectations to slowly fail me. This essay will illustrate an idea of how Union County College gave me an astonishing preview of how i could and would effectively reach my goals in becoming a Nurse.
The pursuit of academic excellence is my primary educational goals, therefore, UTSA Honors College is instrumental in my educational journey and acceptance into the program will be monumental accomplishment. From
Going to a university can encompass a variety of factors and meanings for each of the individuals that it applies to. Here, at ASU, there is an abundant amount of these backgrounds always coming forth and attending this university that helps fuel to the variety of why people attend such a higher level learning institution. As to how I contribute to this diverse pool is of the reason of my family and pressures placed onto me by them. I come from a fairly large family that consists of eight people, including myself. I am the oldest of five siblings and the first who has ever been able to graduate high school. With this in mind, it is obvious that I must be the role model for the younger bunch along with striving for better after my high school graduation. All my siblings are expected to follow in my footsteps which can at times be stressful because I want them to walk onto a even better path than I ever did in my school career path. With being the first in my family to ever graduate, my parents want me to be a good representation to combat the negative comments usually associated with people of Mexican descent and how they often do not get far in life.
I’m interested in furthering my education into a field that will allow me to be prosperous, not just financially but also in regards to my well being emotionally. With the things I would potentially learn at UST I believe I could make a difference in the constantly growing society we live in. My positive attitude and motivation to succeed are the tools that give me the confidence to pursue a Liberal Arts degree. The positive experience I received by taking AP classes I feel
Coming into college, I was very eager to take advantage of the opportunities presented to me. I remember in high school thinking how wonderful it would be to pick my own classes, join organizations that aren’t just existent to put on one’s resume, and learn from instructors who have more knowledge of and experience in the area I’m studying. The idea of being able to study economics particularly economic development/policy, gave me goosebumps each night. By studying economics more in depth, I will be able to apply my learnings to the real world and work in the public and private sector to improve the quality of lives for individuals and families in the world’s poorest communities.
“The hardest part about growing up is letting go of what you were used to, and moving on with something you’re not.” Growing up can be fantastic. Growing up can also be scary. Many people do it on their own time. Others must do it quickly. Some have a nurturing family and a wonderful environment in which to do this. Others still are not as fortunate. The point is that everyone’s situation is different, unique. No matter how similar one situation may seem from another there are countless other things that affect how a child might grow up. One’s own life may seem perfect to those on the outside looking in when in reality, there could be a constant struggle that is known to few or even none. For myself, growing up was something that had to
The prospect of attending Union University excites me, because I see the many opportunities it provides to prepare me for wherever God leads.
I began to help my mom around the house. I had to learn how to cook a proper meal when I was seven years old, do laundry among other things to give my mom some relief. One day, when I was nine years old, my grandmother shared the news of my father’s departure to the U.S and that he did so to give me a better chance. It was heavy news for me, and as an emotional child I cried with my grandma and felt sad that from now on I was not going to get the occasional visit from him. As a teenager in the process of growing into a man, you think you need a father figure, a man perspective, advice on things that life throw at you, it was clear that I didn’t have that anymore. I was fortunate to have my mother and my grandmother to teach me right and wrong; the rest was pretty much up to me.
UTSA's proposed academic restructuring will benefit students by strengthening programs, increasing program development, improving academic advising, and attracting and retaining faculty.
