I do not think that education at Brown Mackie College has prepared me for workforce. Two years of education at Brown Mackie College has given me basic education in many different subjects. It is foundation to build on with a Bachelor's degree and continue on. What school have thought me that I can use in the workforce is to keep educating myself, work hard, do not ask as many question as I am accustom to. I do not believe that skills can be thought, person either poses certain skills or not. For example people skills, it is very hard to teach someone to be polite or respectful to clients and co-workers.
For example a sense of humour is needed in a doctor so that the patient doesn’t feel uncomfortable around the doctor this leads to the doctor having engendering trust which then the patient can feel as if they can trust the doctor. In the health and social sector having people skills is very important working with all ages it is needed like in care homes, hospitals, day care and other places.
Andrew Delbanco’s essay “A college Education: What is its purpose?” gives three reasons why college still matters. Delbanco teaches at Columbia University, where he’s the director of American studies and has written several books on the meaning and benefits of college. Delbanco, begins his essay by discussing what college means to each individual student. He states, “For many more students, college means the anxious pursuit of marketable skills in overcrowded, under resourced institutions. For still others, it means traveling by night to a fluorescent office building or to a “virtual classroom” that only exists in cyberspace.” (1) Delbano successfully uses pathos to appeal to his audience’s emotions, his personal experience and anecdotal combine to persuade his readers to consider or realize the importance of receiving a college education, however his essay contains minor flaws that can counteract his claims.
While working or while looking for work there are certain skills sets that are universally important. No matter what job or career path you have chosen these skills make it easier to obtain your goals, whatever they may be.
These skills need a purpose to be prevalent, like motivation needs an ultimate end goal, so we use goal setting to figure out what our goals are and use those goals as motivation to keep our self confidence up and achieve our final goal. These skills are great, but could have been used a little differently in the
Througout my academic career, I have learned as much about myself as I have learned in school, whether it be from high school, to community college, and my journey that lead me to Arizona State University. I can honestly say as my parents did, that I wish I would’ve tried harder in high school. I scraped by taking the easiest classes possible and choosing to take the easy way out. Looking at my transcript makes me cringe, because I know that I am capable of so much more. I wish that I would’ve taken the honor classes and tried so that I would’ve been able to apply to a college other than a community college. My time at Mohave Community College was a significant improvement from my experience in high school. Not only did I graduate with near honors (3.49), I had made the Dean’s list and Honors List for three out of my four semesters, the first time this had happened since middle school. I had never felt more motivated and focused in my life. I was taking 16 credits and prospering and had a balance of work, school, and a social life. I had never felt more proud of my self in my life. As I sit here and write this paper, I question my time here at ASU as I try to plan the nex chapter of my life. I wonder where I am supposed to go and what I am supposed to do.School for the first time had become a priority, however, it began to consume my life. I would spend hours and hours on end doing homework and studying, and although there seems to be nothing wrong with this, I wouldn’t go
Reasoning and problem solving as well as planning and carrying out even the simplest of tasks are also skills that are lacking.
In every nation, education has an important influence on the improvement of its economy and politics. For the United States of American, community college becomes one of the main factors to determine how the country moves forward. Using table 101.20 from Digest of Education Statistics of the National center for Education Statistics, from 2000 to 2014, the increase in college enrollment has been contributed by increases in the traditional college-age population and rising enrollment rates. But increasing costs of tuition and different expenses each year have become huge obstacles for students to focus and maintain their education status and achievements. This issue brings up the controversy about whether community college education should

The skills needed to be successful in today's workforce have changed somewhat for the better and somewhat for the worse, depending on the job. At some places that people are hired it seems like they hardly have to have any skills in order to get the job. Other places require a lot of skills before someone can even be hired and certain degrees must be obtained and tests must be taken. Fast food restaurants, grocery stores, and other restaurants should be a lot more strict about the types of people that they hire. There are certain skills that are required to be successful while working today, and there are some extra skills needed in jobs that involve working with people. Depending on the job, some skills can be learned during college or training
For instance, one important skill to obtain for success would be common sense. The reasoning for this is that common sense is usually what many people tend to lack. Common sense is containing a fine sense and sound of judgment in practical matters. This skill is significant because one needs to be able to complete things efficiently in simple matters, as well this essentially links to being logical. These two elements are intertwined with each other because in order to have a robust chance of achieving success, one needs to be able to deliberate and visualize
There are several different skills that are important to have to have no matter what the job
Everyone has a certain skill that they may be strong or weak at in both school or in work. There are skills required in order to create an efficient working environment. However, every person generally has a flaw or a skill that they are efficient in, which may reflect their career readiness. Despite everyone's flaw, throughout our life, we can be able to improve through experience. As for myself, I consider myself confident in managing multiple task and valuing work, but I need to improve my communication skills.
On the career-related skills, there is some weakness area that needs to improve and get new skills to continue and discusses on the field that I am currently studying. The human did not have born, and he or she has well skilled they need to learn it and get it
2. Abilities and Skills-the physical capacity of an individual to do something can be termed as ability. Skill can be defined as the ability to act in a way that allows a person to perform well.
