Monuments can be seen all around the world and they can be a way for different states to show the world what they have gone through or what they are proud of. Deciding to build a monument to honor or bring awareness to an important event can turn out to be difficult. There are many factors that need to be looked over and thought out properly before making a final decision. For example, the location of the monument needs to be considered, time and money should be included, and who/what the monument will show is also a factor that is important when deciding to construct a monument. The location of a monument is extremely important and should be one of the most important things that should be considered. Moreover, the location should be somewhere important that would not conflict with historical landmarks or that will cause problems for the people living around the monument. For example, in Source D, Kosareft explained how the cemetery in Savannah Memorial Park was in danger of being removed because developers want to use the land. This is an issue because the cemetery holds the graves of the San Gabriel Valley pioneers and is an important landmark to many of the people living in Savannah. Using a location like this to build a monument is not ideal because it would destroy a place that holds a lot of history.
