“The Cloud”
The subject I have chosen is “The Cloud”. I have chosen this subject because I love the availability of using “The Cloud”
Many agencies and companies as well as schools use this system. And by all the articles I have read and the information I have researched on the subject it seems that it is a great success for the various groups of people that use them.
With the variety of products that are offered to companies, and other agencies it seems like it is an all in one program that can meet all the needs of anyone that uses it. “The Cloud” offers such services as storage and databases for all your applications. As well as networking, data transfer, API platforms and Ecosystems, Management Tools, Developer Tools, as well as

Luckily for the district, many of their schools had many obsolete computers just taking up space in a storage closet.
Instead of paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars to give classrooms new computers, old machines can now be retrofitted for around $50.00. Which makes is much easier for schools that have a limited budget.
By offering this amazing service companies like Neverware are making it easier for everyone, even those in underprivileged areas to experiment with and be a part of cloud computing.
While there has been a decline in the sale of personal computers in the last few years, the education market appetite for computers has increased. Sales have increased almost 33% over previous years. Previously this market has been dominated by two players Apple and Microsoft.
Prior to 2012 Google was a non-player in this market. In 2012 when it started to sell Google
Chromebooks and low-cost laptops to the schools, with these computers using the cloud for storage and software, Google became a large player in the education market. By allowing the district to purchase the Chromebooks and laptops at low prices, the district could save money while trying to keep the students engaged with the new technology. And the districts did not
have to be concerned regarding the security, updates and storage, all those were managed by
Google, included in the $50.00 fee the schools paid for the computers.
By recycling these computers nationwide, it has allowed many school
The national Institute of Standards and Technology under the department of Commerce defines Cloud Computing as “a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction”. Another definition for cloud computing is a term used to describe a network of computers that deliver information technology
Google is a well known company and many people use to talk about it, a book « The Google story » has been written and many websites are talking about this company.
Stating the positive and negative characteristics of using cloud services. I also plan on providing examples of real world uses of these services. As well as showing how they are beneficial to people that don’t always need to have these resources and to people that don’t have enough money for the necessary hardware and time to configure them.
Google Inc. is one of the leading computer search engines in the world and is continuing to grow as the
Recently, I interviewed a school teach who teaches sixth grade at a public middle school in Santa Clarita. She had been teaching for over 10 years for the district including the implementation of technology from conception. She explained that over the first five years of teaching she focused very little on technology because it was not required. The only technology her students used was attending the computer lab twice a month. Unfortunately, while her students were in the computer lab computer games were the fascination of the majority of students. She made it very clear that was the case then but not presently due to the state of California adopting the Common Core Standards. Currently, California is making sure that technology is getting integrated in the classroom and in major ways. Primarily, students now use laptop computers in the classroom and playing those computer games are not the most intriguing aspect of time spent in the lab.
Within the past 10 years our societies technological advantages have been somewhat space age like, even alien like characteristics. Technologies, which ten years ago only existed in our dreams but yet, have become reality. Things like, the revolutionary iPhone and its almost seamless touch-screen tech; as well as the new advancements in our cultures most prized possession, The Internet. In this subject-based paper, I will take a closer look into a fairly new emerging technology, which is simply referred to as…Cloud Technology. The synopsis will cover, what and how cloud technology works, its
Cloud computing has set a trend in the information technology arena that has sparked the interest of all who utilize the internet on purpose and unsuspectingly. Initially, the primary purpose of cloud computing was to provide a centralized data bank that organizations could use for quick data access. Its use has been quickly adapted, however, beyond business use to become the first option for personal use. The advantages and disadvantages of implementing such a shift from business to personal are varied, yet, statistically, according to the CISCO Global Cloud Index: Forecast and Methodology, 2014-2019 White Paper, its public use is on the rise. The report notes that “by 2019, 56 percent of the cloud workloads will be in public cloud data centers, up from 30 percent in 2014 and by 2019, 44 percent of the cloud workloads will be in private cloud data centers, down from 70 percent in 2014”. Though disadvantages with regard to data security is prominent, users have deemed that its implementation will still promote greater benefits than loss.
Due to the increased competition from Yahoo and Microsoft, it has posed a great threat to Google Company. Entry of such like companies in the market has been relatively easy and even offering similar services to the consumers is no longer a problem as unlike a while back, technology has greatly improved. With an improvement in technology, creating sites that help people access information from the internet has been quite cheap and all it calls for is the creativity of a company. Google, however, has been able to remain at the top of the chart. They have been able to come up with a user-friendly search engine for their clients, one that is easy to understand as well as easy to use. Also, Google has been able to cut on cost as they are able to create web pages using UNIX web servers which are relatively cheap. This makes it possible for them to minimize the cost of input and hence maximizing their profit margins. This makes it possible for them to hire qualified personnel, offer quality services, advertise their products, and even offer promotions, helping them overcome the competition in the market structure.
Hi Jim, Impressive report on Google, the fact that this online organization has a multinational technology, specializing in not only advertising technology but cloud computing and software. Google is a household name for search engines, whenever people search online it is google search that retrieves the information. Amazing how an organization incorporated in 1996 that went public in 2004 now has over 1 billion searches daily. I also use one of the free gmail accounts that google offers that is known
Google Search is the most popular search engine in the world, and just by that has an enormous advantage in information markets. Google has unprecedented access to what people are thinking about at any given moment, information which is extremely valuable to advertisers and marketers. Google also is also an extremely well established company, with its massive revenue allowing it to support its extremely robust infrastructure. Google has massive and modern data centers all over the world, and continues to invest into more infrastructure, including data centers and the new Google Fiber in the United States. Googles massive revenue also allows it to branch off into more innovative pursuits without having to worry too much about funding. Google can pursue expensive and difficult projects that generate little to no revenue for a very long time, if the company believes that the investment will be worth it in the end. Examples of this include Google's Self driving cars, and the aforementioned mentioned Google

Cloud computing is a topic of which much is assumed. The average person recognizes the term “cloud computing” as having to do with their storage from their iPad or iPhone on the online storage area which syncs their Apple devices to their computer. This common cloud is called the iCloud. That is where common knowledge ends about this topic. However, upon further exploration, a deeper understanding is gained with greater explanation, and it is realized that cloud computing is something that is used all of the time on many levels of everyday technology. While the terminology remains cryptic to the mind of most people, the concepts behind the practical uses of cloud computing become quite clear. It is relatable and understandable. Upon this revelation, the iCloud is recognized as the tip of the preverbal iceberg when speaking about cloud computing. It is important to discuss and further understand the many types of cloud computing as well as the various applications to life through technology. This affects how information is stored online, computers are protected, information is secured, emails are processed, and many other factors that are taken for granted in the world of technology. Cloud computing is a general term used to describe how information is stored, utilized, and accessed over the internet. There is no cloud, but the word cloud gives the connotation of an abstract place which is known to exist but is too vast to touch or contain (Griffith,
In 1998, Stanford University graduates Larry Page and Sergey Brin combined their ingenuity and built a search engine called “BackRub” that evolved into what is now known as Google. Google, with over 150 domains, now functions as a search engine that offers many different products and services including web applications, advertising, sports scores, stock quotes, headlines, addresses, videos, etc. Google’s focus is “to provide useful and relevant information to the millions of people around the world as they rely on us (Google) to provide the answers they are seeking.”
To start off, schools need to realize the amount they can save in the long run by utilizing technology and lean away from traditional, old fashioned, hard cover books. When books become outdated and used, schools have to spend endless amounts to replace them. To avoid this, schools can take the initiate and work proactively and replace hard cover books with electronics to avoid unnecessary expenses. An example of this occurred at Empire High School which recently made a switch from textbooks even though, “it wasn’t because of a funding crisis.” (Source A) Empire High School shows just how well technology can work. Not only does technology help in saving necessary funding, it adds a sure convenience factor to the students and teachers by not having to drag around large and expensive textbooks.
