The quest for education is an arduous and tumultuous one many undertake, but few achieve. There are multiple paths which one could can while on this quest. For many, the path of a close-mindedness is one most tend to astray from-for good reason. Close-mindedness essentially seals you off from the world of education, leads to dangerous and poorly thought conclusions, and inhibits growth as an individual. The goal of mankind should be to reach the peak of knowledge. Such a peak is impossible to grasp without education and the ability to think as an educated man. An educated man “is a man with certain subtle spiritual qualities which make him calm in adversity, happy when alone, just in his dealings, rational and sane in the fullest meaning of that word in all the affairs of his life (ADD CITATION/CRIMSON).” A man is nothing but a savage beast without these traits. The ability to reflect upon one’s self in a critical and rational manner is the foremost quality as it allows us to attain a greater understanding of ourselves and how we interact with the world around us. The learned man will be ridiculed and face adversity due to their knowledge, but they must remain defiant to the naysayers. “But I thought that I ought not to do anything common or mean in the hour of danger: nor do I now repent of the manner of my defense, and I would rather die having spoken after my manner, than speak in your manner and live. (CITATION (PLATO APOLOGY)” Socrates’s words serve as an important
Malcolm X once said “education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. From adolescence to adulthood almost every person is put through schooling. As one gets older in age, the education they obtain becomes more rigorous in order to stretch their minds far beyond two plus two or what color the sky is. The strategies of critically thinking and being able to analyze/decipher information in front is them is reinforced routinely in the educational system. With this being said, the purpose of education is to aid in enhancing one’s qualification, socialisation, and subjectification skills within the society regardless of how or where one’s education was obtained.
From the start of time, to present day, the only way to achieve almost anything this world is to have an education. But, who decides if you’re properly educated, and where does this education come from? What it means to be educated is perceived differently by everyone. To me, education focuses on the mind. But more specifically, factors and characteristics that shape one’s mind. To be educated means one should have the ability to think critically, show respect, and have a level head while obtaining some overall knowledge.
Malcolm Forbes summed it up best when he said “Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”
Public education began in the nineteenth century, now the majority of people have received some sort of public education. Whether someone has received a middle school education or a college education, any education will impact someone's life. Throughout educations existence, many people have come to believe there are many flaws with its methods, which is limiting students. However, public education helps to promote students to gain educational knowledge, the knowledge someone gains will positively affect their future.
Education remains the root of all the change my family has gone through. My parent’s decision to leave their beloved country of Colombia, and immigrate to the United States of America, stemmed from their fear of losing our education. Everything that altered the cultural sustainability of my family connects to our view on the importance of education.
I was fortunate enough to come live in the United States when I was eleven months old. I still go back and visit my birth place El Salvador. The number one thing that catches my eye when I’m over there is the difference in education. Here in the United States, we are lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to school and learn and eventually get a career, because not everyone has that. This is why I believe education shouldn’t be taken advantage of.
College drop outs have been glorified by society. The likes of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, and Mark Zuckerberg are highly patronized for their success. They are known for being successful people and they were able to achieve their success even if they did not get good grades in school, nor did they finish going to school. It can be said that they were not academic achievers. Nonetheless, the legacy of their success continues to prevail. They have reached the kind of success that everyone aspires to have. Often, their stories are used to encourage and convince people that doing well in school is no longer important to be successful.
People always say “Mothers are the greatest characters in the world.” I agree because girls' education is an important part of successful families and successful societies, and educating girls means educating a generation. They have learned the knowledge that they can inherit as their mothers. In the real life, I have seen something like this happened before, “A Mother that she doesn't have any education. She doesn’t know what she can teach her children. Now her children become a ganger. She wants to They will listen to the old people said. They don’t even know it’s that right or wrong. This is why it’s important that women need to have the education. They need to teach their children what they have learned. If they don’t learn anything how can they teach their children? But women are not just born to being a mother, they can have their own career too. Like Women are important to have the education because it can decrease child marriage, Increased Literacy, and decrease cervical cancer.
Is an education a requirement for a successful career? Most people would say yes, however I think this is inaccurate, however I do think kindergarten through twelfth grade is important. Further education, such as college or a trade school, however, is not required to be successful. Just about all my family had not furthered their education with college and they’re all do just fine, making enough to live and support their families. Just because you go to college to be something doesn’t mean you will pursue your life in that career, most people don’t. Education is expensive and I don’t think that it is for everyone.
Education. How much is it worth? A dollar, ten dollars? To some, an education is worthless. However, to some people, it is priceless. It could be the difference between life and death. An education could save lives, families, futures. Imagine a world where you didn’t have an education, where you couldn’t read, write, or express yourself. This world is a reality for women and girls in poverty all around the world. These uneducated females live in extreme poverty without the hopes of making better lives for their children or families. Without an education, children have a higher chance of death, more girls are forced into child marriage, and women have an increased chance of maternal mortality. For these reasons, women and girls in poverty need to be given educations.
Education is a key factor of individual well-being, social progress, and inclusive growth. In the modern society, with increasing competitive pressure within individuals and countries, well-educated elites are needed. While more people realize the importance of education, in many countries, there are still a large quantity of problems with education such as education inequality and low quality education. In order to solve these problems, governments should restore more funds on education, since it can help eliminate the social inequality, bring more skilled workers, and raise the country's economical incomes.
A school is a system designed to provide a learning space for people under the influence of educational professionals. For centuries, education has played a major role in developing and changing the world. Therefore, children are obligated to go to school at a very young age to expose them to new skills, ideas, and knowledge. School is to provide the individual with the opportunity to further develop and learn their purpose in society. All around the world people are taught the same thing but feel unsatisfied and useless, are judged and labeled as a letter or number, yet for some people this system is beneficial for them.
Having an education is one of the most important things to have no matter where you are. My entire life I have envisioned myself as a teacher. When I was young I would line up my stuff animals and give them math problems to solve. As I grew older my passion never faded. In middle school I began volunteering as an assistant soccer coach where I would sit and help teach new skills, from there in high school I did my student internship at a local middle school. Not only did I have experience in these classes, I also was able to sit in my Mothers middle school math classes. So when I got to college I knew that I wanted to follow in my mom’s footsteps. Currently, being in my field study and middle education classes I have learned that becoming a teacher is one of the most rewarding and influential careers someone could choose. Middle school aged students are going through the transitional years of their lives. These students are changing provocatively, whether it be physical, intellectually morally, psychologically or socially, these changes will impact who they will be in the future. While students are going through these changes they need a role model in their lives to represent and guide them through these challenges. Each student is changing at different rates. Boys and girls are both beginning puberty at this point of their life, their bodies are changing rapidly physically, and new things are going on with their bodies that they have not experienced before. These changes
According to the book on page 363, “education is a social institution through which a society’s children are taught basic academic knowledge, learning skills, and cultural norms.” Every nation has some sort of educational system which teaches all of these thing and each system varies greatly. What affects the educational systems the most is the money that goes into supporting each system. Many factors come into the amount of money that is spent on educations. A main one is the wealth of the country that particular system is in. The countries that have little to nothing are barely able to support any kind of education, if any. This is a social concern for many countries.
ducation is a very significant aspect of nowadays life. Personally I am convinced that education is extremely important in shaping my future career and personality. It will shape me morally, intellectually and academically qualified. Due to the education my opportunities will increase, and I will be a honorable person in the society.
