An educational journey consists of effective study habits which will require researching various sources, managing personal/family life, and balancing work and school. Research is very important. It will either hurt you or help you, depending on your research skills and time management skills. Research helps link one’s ideas to true and tested studies that can help prove a stance on a particular subject matter. When one is able to provide information backed up by empirical studies, one’s information can begin to flourish. For example, think about the various magazines that are sold nationwide. The National Enquirer is seen to be a false, untrue magazine that provides information about subject matters that are not even true. Even though, the National Enquirer is a great attention getter, there are surmountable people who know the stories printed inside are not believable. In regards to research, students should seek out reputable sources that can enhance their writing skills which in turn will help to write a better paper. Research provides valuable knowledge for the student. The student may already know the information but the research will give added seasoning to that knowledge. Just like cooking, one knows how to cook a turkey but, it’s the seasonings that will bring the turkey to life. Those seasoning ideas may come from various individuals.

When I discovered that my English class had to do a Research Paper, I became horrified. I thought students only did this when they were finishing graduate school not when they were starting their first year in college. All I knew about research papers was that there is an overwhelming amount of research to do. In my efforts to complete this obstacle and not bore myself to sleep with researching, I wanted to do an interesting topic, but I had no idea where to begin. I spent hours going through a great number of subjects and people, but once I found topic remotely interesting, I could not find much information on the Library of Congress website. Therefore, I decided to choose one word that would hopefully lead me to an interesting topic. I

Research is generally described as description, exploration, analysis, prediction and problem solving. There are different types of research and these researches are called the experiments, quasi-experiments and non-experiments. The purpose of research is to provide the insight to practice, it also enhance individuals understanding as well as developing new approaches with different topics, get to test your research for effectiveness. Understanding research is important because it helps to build individuals knowledge bases and informs decision making in practice. Research also enable us to make sure that our practice are up to date with relevant information.

In order to start your research effectively, you should find a topic that fascinates you, consider your rhetorical situation, and do some background research.

"Constructing a Research Paper" is a unit from "Academic Writing for Graduate Students" was a third edition written by John M. Swales and Christine B. Feak, and published by the University of Michigan in 2012. This book mainly focuses on how to prepare international graduate students to write academic papers. This book consists of a total of 8 units, of which unit 8 explains how to construct a research paper (Swales & Feak, 2012).

Sentences and paragraphs will be clear, concise, and factually correct. The content will be properly subdivided into sections derived from the outline or TOC. While I have not written any major papers at this time I plan on changing that in the coming year. One paper that I will write will be for my research methods class which will teach me how to write a proper reseach

While writing this paper, I attempted to follow the forms and models put forth in the research papers we read in class during this unit. It was helpful to have something to follow while writing this report because I focused more on the “how” and “why” instead of the “what” of the research report structure. Overall, I found that this paper was much more organized than my last and I hope that this also improved the quality of my writing.

I used my many different techniques for my papers throughout the term. Some of the techniques and methods were more helpful than other techniques and methods. I excelled at some method that James D. Lester recommended to try and I failed at some other methods that she recommended. They were some methods that I haven't grasp yet and can definitely work on in the future. In this paper, it will showcase what I did well at during the writing process of writing a research paper and what I could have improved while writing the research papers throughout the term
