I felt The Impossible Knife of Memory was to pedestrian for a college-level course. In my belief, the author should have focused more on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and how it affects families and friends. Firstly, PTSD is defined in Merriam-Webster Medical Dictionary as a psychological reaction occurring after experiencing a highly stressing event (i.e. wartime combat, physical violence, or a natural disaster) that causes depression, anxiety, flashbacks, and recurring nightmares.
