Raghu was going for a walk in the road. He disliked walking. But his doctor advised him to walk every morning to reduce his blood sugar level. Two guys came from the corner and ran past him. He saw them every day. Everything was happening as usual. Except, when he turned around the corner, he saw a group of people breaking into a store. He was stunned. He didn’t know what to do. He searched his cell phone in his pocket, which he did not find. Then he thought of making some noise. But, there was no one in hearing distance. So, he decided to remain silent. He went near the store to have a closer look at those people. But, they were wearing masks. Suddenly, one guy who was waiting near the door saw him through the mirror of the door. He looked away from them acting like he didn’t see anything. He then slowly turned around and walked away. He walked back quickly to his house. He told his son, Ram, about what happened earlier. His son told him not to call the police. He also told that if he called the police, it may lead to some unwanted events as they saw him. That made sense to him. So he just went back to his room. He was thinking about this incident all day. But his mind was not accepting to take any decision. Next day, he was walking in the street. The street was silent. Not seeing whole incident has always been an issue in the United States taking it back to 1991 the Rodney King case. King was in a high speed chase with the police he was pulled out of his car and was brutally beat by four police officers. This altercation was caught on film by a bystander and was taken to trial (Rodney King Biography). Even though they had provided undeniable evidence of the officers using excessive force and a deadly weapon the officers were acquitted. This triggered a deadly riot in 1992 that caused more than 50 people dead, more than 2,000 injured and about 9,500 arrest (Rodney King Biography). He woke up in a dark room. He was numb and dizzy. The figure of a man kept on flickering through his head. He couldn’t move. He had no memory. His whole body was full of pain and agony.

In “Incident” written by Nathasha Trethwey the speaker conveys a frightening experience she has with the hate group the Ku Klux Klan into an anecdote that is able to cause change. Upon this reading this essay the reader doesn 't feel that the speaker is encouraging hate or revenge for the injustices bestowed on her. Rather, she is promoting peace and not attempting to further fuel the flame. Trethewey uses persona, tone and irony to depict the effect racial discrimination during an age where hate crimes were a frequent occurrence.
He ran and ran. After a while he stopped and didn't know where he was.
I ducked down so he could not see me. All I hear was the man running but he didn't make it. The man was dead, his back on the ground, his right leg under him and his one eye open the other with a star shaped hole.
In the morning, while he was preparing his suitcase he got hit in the head and when he woke up he was handcuffed to his bed and in front of him his wife with a random guy were laughing. She exclaimed: what did you think? that I didn’t know what was happening while you were not home?. But how? You are more evil that I ever thought, he pointed out.
The old man was not aware that someone was watching him. While the man was watching him the door creaked open, and scared the old man. The crazy man stood still for hours watching the old man look around if anyone was there. The room was black as pitch so the old man didn’t see nobody.
Michael wasn’t in a deep sleep for long. He woke up hearing his stomach grumble. So he decided to take a midnight snack. As Michael walked down the stair, he saw something run underneath the rug. Michael wasn’t sure if his eyes were messing with him or not, so he decided to come down the next day. But this time Michael brought his camera to record it. Michael waited and waited, until he was so sleepy he went back up to his room. Michael kept on coming down, but received the same result.
Hours after the incident Mr.Bull was filling out a police report on what he had witnessed.
