Did you know General George S. Patton was a commander of the American Forces? That is one fact most people don’t know about Patton. This paper will discuss World War II; some of the generals that were in the war, the causes of the war, and the effects of the war.
There were many generals in the war but there were two that were the most influential. George S. Patton began his military career by leading cavalry troops and won the war’s first major American victory against the Nazi-led forces. Patton also played a very important role in defeating the German counterattack. Patton had led his army across the Rhine River to get into Germany. After that, he accompanied General John J. Pershing on his unsuccessful expedition. George Patton had a long military heritage and was happy to be apart of preparing for an invasion in the southeastern part of England. Eisenhower however, removed Patton from the commander of the third army ( George S. Patton ).

There are a number of qualities that quantify good leaderships and good leaders. According to Kouzes and Posner in their book The Leadership Challenge, all successful leaders have (5) practices in common. They “Model the Way”, “Inspire a shared vision”, “Challenge the process”, “enable others to act” and “encourage the heart”(15). Never is there a more important time to have exemplary leadership, than in a time of war. Both the American Civil War and World War II showed what was possible through good leadership. From abolishing slavery and preserving the Union, to fighting tyranny and oppression abroad, both events in American history had a profound impact on all those involved. The impact would most certainly be different if not for the leadership of Colonel Lawrence Chamberlain of the Union Army during the Civil War and General George S. Patton during World War II. Both leaders possessed the 5 practices essential for god leadership, yet both leaders to different approaches to accomplish their goals.
From a fiercely brave General, who strictly enforces customs, bravery, formalities, and success; to a General with a lighthearted-mood, down to earth attitude, a steadfast courage, and a integrity and decency to lead the nations of the world into battle; while both these legendary Generals fought on the same side, both General S. But after the uprising act in Munich, it sent him to prison for nine months. He wrote the book “mein kempf” meaning “my struggle”, which sold about 5 million copies. He attained a lot of fame after writing that book. He used his failed revolution and the book he wrote to seize power legally. The war had just begun when I enlisted. I enlisted in this war because I followed the opinions of my people and I felt a deep connection to country. My connection to country also led to my dislike of others, I felt as though I belonged to this nation and the people who formed a part of it. Hindsight is however a wonderful thing and war is not.

January 30, 1933 a man named Adolf Hitler rose to power over Germany. In the beginning years, he had scientists make new creations: bigger, better, and more sufficient. His scientists developed new techniques to succeed in a modern warfare. Hitler prepared plans to usurp Germany and bring the country into a position of power, he spent the 1930s developing his plans while other countries yearned for food and employment. He came across a term known as blitzkrieg also known as lightning war.
Hitler became a title of power, and came up with a German Empire called "The Third Reach" He wanted to give people "living space" and have a limited race. (He wanted less people) To start this "movement" he took Germany out of the League of Nations, he knew he had to break a treaty and cross the territory of Rhineland and invade. He caused disruptions all over Europe, marching and getting people to join his Third reach, such as signing a pact with Japan to destroy Russia.
