Thesis:
Millions of people across the globe now have the advantage of access to the Internet. With the diverse collection of people who peruse the inter-webs comes an even wider range of things left to be observed. People flood sites with information about themselves, their friends and family, and many activities and hobbies that they may be interested in. Regardless of the promised anonymity of many sites, or the tensions over net neutrality, everything that is posted on the Internet will remain forever, in some shape or form. Many people are reckless with their access to the Internet and they post inappropriate content or use the digital facades to harass and bully people. Because of the permanent nature of the Internet, many employers search for what their potential employees have posted, and these employers then judge the people's characters from their digital footprint.

If one were to use the Internet at all, their posts and activities are known as a digital footprint. It's almost an echo of what they've done online, and depending on what they do, it can either be a positive digital footprint or a negative one. There's a rather old lesson that adults always try to teach to children, and that's think before you speak or act, and this same lesson can be applied to usage of the Internet. Many people act irrationally online and they do or say things that they wouldn't normally do in 'real life'. It should be a goal of everyone's to try and create a positive
You have a footprint while using the internet, make sure yours is a good one. How many times do you see on the news that a person is affected by the actions they do on the internet? Maybe you said a few times, however the truth is that more than half of the United States population use the internet and are affected by the actions on it. There are plenty of incidents were teens aren't able to get into the college or get the job they want because what they have posted or done on the internet
“The Internet is for everyone. How easy to say - how hard to achieve!” Vint Cerf, the father of the internet said that in a 2002 memo to everyone providing information to the internet community entitled “The Internet is for Everyone.” The idea that the internet should have unlimited access is still something that is hotly contested even today. Net neutrality must stay because the internet was intended to allow free access to all, it’s promised in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and because corporations cannot be trusted to do what’s right over their own gain.
Today, the internet has become an indispensable part of many peoples lives. It has revolutionized the communication system to a whole new different level that has never been seen before. The internet is a source for disseminating information and a medium for interaction regardless of geographical boundaries. Today, we have come a long way from the days of letters and telegrams. In the current world, most people have access to the internet, with a small fraction of people, especially in the developing countries, who are not connected. The importance of the internet in today's world cannot be underestimated as it has now become a necessity for conducting day-to-day lives. Therefore, having access to the internet is not a luxury anymore but should be a considered fundamental right for all citizens to create a fair and equal society.(Sexton & English)
Haworth ( 1995) has piled up a comprehensive list of positive features of using the Internet in an educational context.
During the past decade the internet has easily become one of the most important resources used on an everyday basis. The internet should be regulated because it can decrease identity theft, criminal activity, and sexual predators. The internet should be a safer place for families and people who share their personal information through. When regulating the amount of people that use the internet not only will inappropriate websites crash, but also those who require vital personal information from the user may be eliminated as well. People will forever be safer under these regulations no matter if the internet gets half of the uses it would normally gets. Safety is normally more important than the internet itself.
It has been said by many that humans are creatures of habit. However, humans appear to do a lot of changing and adapting over time, whether they consciously realize they are doing it or not. For example, when the clock was invented, people began to base their daily activities off of the clock; using it as a frame of reference for knowing when the appropriate time to do certain actions are. Likewise, when the book was invented, people stopped needing to know and memorize such large basis of knowledge, rather, they were able to write down the information and then they would have it forever. No matter what though, there will always be people who resist the change; who say it will create more problems than it will solve. This attitude is problematic because without change, humans could ever more forward and improve. The Internet is ultimately beneficial to humans because the Internet establishes new behaviors, such as speed and efficiency, in people that are crucial in modern society.
The Internet has only been around for 25 years. In that time period, it has become one of the most popular form of technology. You can use the Internet for almost anything. You can find answers to your questions, look for pictures, play games, keep in contact with friends and family and so much more. No wonder it has become so popular, everything is at the touch of a finger. You can also connect other devices to the internet to make them more desirable- such as your cell phone, video game system, computers, tv’s etc. With so many positives, could there even be any negative things that the internet brings?
Today, first-world countries have information and communication all within the tap of a finger. 'How?' people from times long past might ask. Engineers have created one of the most important inventions ever: the internet. Now, people from around the world communicate instantaneously provided they have the internet. However, our use of the internet has drawn us in so that we depend on it all too much. Whether just checking the news or keeping an eye on the weather, we now use the internet for almost everything, necessary or not. Our internet overuse might not only addict us but may also impede our ability to complete simple tasks when we lack access to it. In addition to these other mental pitfalls arise cyber attacks, such as hacking. Millions of people suffer from online ailments such as identity theft or other cyber crimes. Although an integral part of society today, we should try to rely less on the internet in the future.
The internet is a phenomenal creation, that opens the doors into all types of worlds for all types of people. It has tools that can either aid or hinder a user and eventually becomes a big part of most user’s lives. The internet becomes an extension of myself as I use it in my everyday life, including my academic life, where it can be very accommodating in terms of guidance, but also detrimental to the originality of my ideas, although, by using it successfully, I therefore am an extension of it.
There are multiple ways to communicate using the internet. Communication is when someone is physically doing something to talk to another person. Communication includes talking, touching, screaming, texting, and many other ways through digital or person. The internet is a computer networking system that connects smaller networks and computers worldwide. That is why it is called the “World Wide Web”. The World Wide Web is an information system that lets a person share data electronically. The information highway was designed so that people could send messages and share data. The internet links a person to anyone who has access to the internet. The World Wide Web allows people to talk to strangers and that is when many of the problems can come in affect. When a person is talking to a complete stranger over the internet, it can involve “Catfishing” which is when a person is using another person’s identity for their profile. The online network can help a stranger steal a person’s identity and any background information about that person even if that information is private. There have been incidents where people have lost everything that they have because a stranger stole their identity and their personal information. People have gone through major depression and anxiety because someone over the World Wide Web has bullied them or threatened them. People have tried to commit suicide in multiple ways because someone would not stop harming them emotionally. There are people who are dying, harming themselves, losing everything that they love because someone is using the internet and communicating through it in a bad way. The negative sides of the internet are cybercrime, which is the act of doing a crime through the internet. Cyberterrorism is a political attack against important information. Cyberstalking is when a person repeatedly sends another person threatening remarks to try to harass them and
What are some differences between the internet and more traditional media? What are some advantages and disadvantages of using the internet in advertising? Describe the main types of promotion used on the internet (both traditional and newer types). (20 points)
The Internet is one of the principle foundations through which the "data age" can turn into a reality. Be that as it may, as far as advancement, whether this strengthens the norm or enhances social prosperity and value is still an argumentative subject. When all is said in done, the Internet is still utilized fundamentally for data presentation and recovery, in spite of the fact that it seems to have significant potential in multi-partner circumstances to augment data sharing, learning and systems administration. The benefits of innovation are not in making new "virtual" groups, but rather in fortifying officially existing interpersonal organizations. Maybe one of the greatest difficulties confronting offices and other data directors is the means by which best to include diverse vested parties in playing a more dynamic participatory part in the consequent administration of this data and through this to enhance arranging, arrangement investigation and basic leadership.
Some years ago, the Internet was practically unheard of by most people. Today, the Internet is not only one of the most powerful and essential tools but also is a collection of a wide variety of services. One must be aware that E-mail and the World Wide Web are the most important components of the internet. But practically speaking the internet is much wider in application than just the search engines or the E-mail. The internet is now available in many a household. Moreover, even the business people cannot avoid its necessity.
Try imagining ourselves get stuck in a pristine island, where internet access is not available. Ask ourselves, would us be able to live without scrolling our Facebook and Instagram to see what ours friends are doing, googling things to seek for information or watching videos on YouTube to entertain ourselves. We definitely could survive that way, but our days would be dull and lifeless since we could not do what we were accustomed to in our daily life. The truth is we rely on Internet too much nowadays, and it consequently becomes a great deal to get through our days. We depend on internet everywhere whether we are at school, at home or at work. However, while we are busy immersing our live with what are provided by internet, most of us did not realize this advent creation has brought us more drawbacks than benefits. Internet does not just affect our daily life, but it negatively impacts the most powerful organ in the body, our brain. Internet slowly changes the way our brains work, makes it less functional in certain ways.
Practitioners have a responsibility towards children and young people to make them aware of the dangers which they may face in the outside world. In school, this awareness has historically been around issues such as road safety, stranger danger and how to treat and respond to others. As well as being an additional resource, the emergence of the Internet has opened up a wide range of additional threats to children. As many children now have access to a computer in their own homes it is important for all children to become familiar with them and be able to use them with ease.
