Throughout the film, the viewer is enveloped in a dramatic web of extreme situations, experienced by the main character, and those to whom she is close. The themes of domestic violence, rape, incest, drug addiction, gambling, poverty, social justice, social services, housing and education are laced together throughout the story. Particularly poignant attention is paid to various systems that help shape the experiences of the characters. The social services industry, and its associated workers, educators and administrators, set the foundation for the social themes that are highlighted by this film.

The facility I am going to pick is going to be the YMCA. The YMCA uses technology in majors ways. Technology helps to get everything moving, like scanning your card instead on having someone manually entering it. There are so many forms of technology from the score clock to the mile tracking on the bikes and the treadmills. The mile tracking is a major park because instead of keeping something on you to show you what mile you are on or how many calories you have burned, it will tell you as you run or bike. The event managers ensure that the consumers are enjoying there experience in a lot of way. One of the ways is having room to watch your kid play basketball or swim. They also advertise there events very good, so you will always know if events
Every person has a place or a person they can go to in order to experience a sense of belonging. This positive feeling gives one the opportunity to escape the stressful factors of life and the ability to not feel like an outsider while being yourself. Looking back on my life before a sport, I was lost. After picking up field hockey, my life was transformed socially, physically, and mentally. Now, four years later, I am grateful to have such an amazing school team that allows me to feel like I belong there almost every time we are together, both on the perfectly trimmed grass with straight, white lines that mimic turf field, or in the noisy hallways crammed wall to wall with kids. Because this is a school field hockey team, I can always remember that I have somebody to talk to from the beginning of the school day to the end of practice. Without this group of people, I would not be lucky enough to become familiarized

The Bailey and Pierce families, both originated from Europe. The Bailey family came to America for better jobs, and a new start in life.

While reading The Family Crucible, the authors made it feel like I was watching a life-time television series. There were several high points and low points during the family therapy session that left me unsure of how the show would end. This book takes you on a journey using family counseling to help a family heal and communicate better with one another. I thought it was interesting how this systematic therapy took place in a time where therapy was looked at as taboo. Many times in that era family therapy was not an option. The main focus was on the family member with the issue and not on the parents or other family members. In the book the authors used different theories and approaches during the counseling sessions which were quite interesting. This process after time enabled the family to look at the journey they were on in order to understand how the family, as a whole, should function.
