At first the colonist was grateful to be under British rule. The French and Indian War was costly for King George III and there was a big debt to be paid. The King decided to impose a tax on the colonist to receive his money back form the cost of the supplies he used for the army and colonist. The colonist was very angry for imposing such a tax without their permission. Many felt that they were entitled to received supplies that where normally free. Shortly following the French and Indian War, the American Colonies were issued many taxes and laws, which were passed by Great Britain. The colonists believed that King George III was becoming more of a tyrant, and less like a king of England. These taxes and laws were believed to be very unfair in the eyes of the colonists, causing great conflict between Great Britain and the American Colonists.
