In cartoon “Spongebob SquarePants”, there are seven main characters. SpongeBob SquarePants is an energetic and optimistic sea sponge (although his appearance more closely resembles a kitchen sponge) who lives in a pineapple under the sea with his pet snail, Gary, who meows like a cat. Living two houses down from SpongeBob is his best friend, Patrick Star, a dim-witted yet friendly pink sea star who lives under a rock. Even despite his "Mental Setbacks", Patrick still sees himself as intelligent. SpongeBob's next-door neighbor and co-worker is Squid ward Tentacles, an arrogant and ill-tempered squid who lives in an Easter Island moai and dislikes his neighbors (especially SpongeBob) for their child-like behavior. He enjoys playing the clarinet and painting self-portraits, but hates his job working at the Krusty Krab.
Another close friend of SpongeBob's is Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel from Texas. Sandy is an expert at karate and lives in an underwater tree dome. When not inside her tree dome, she wears an astronaut-like suit because she cannot breathe underwater. SpongeBob and Squidward's employer is former officer cadet for the Bikini Bottom Navy force and war veteran Eugene Krabs, a miserly crab obsessed with money, who is the owner of the Krusty Krab restaurant. Mr. Krabs’ archenemy is Sheldon Plankton, a small green copepod who owns a low-rank fast-food restaurant called the Chum Bucket across the street from the
6. Power is define as the ability to control the behavior of others, even against their will. For example, Pearl gets contracted at the Krusty Krabs and upgrades everything. She adds plants to every table and heart shape lights in Mr. Krabs office. Pearl even needs to change the name of the eatery! Mr. Krabs is spending all his cash getting tied up with Pearl's requests, so he chooses to flame her. Since, he can't do it; he makes SpongeBob do it for him.7. Symbol is something that represents something else. May be an object, word, something that is observable, something concrete, but may represent something else. An example is when SpongeBob has a thing for jellyfishes and krabby patties. Those two things symbolize who SpongeBob is. 8. Presentation of self an act of presenting yourself in such a way to enhance their performance in hopes of others having a favorable opinion of them. An example, SpongeBob is always happy and cheerful at whatever he does. A customer calls and asks the Krusty Krab to deliver him some pizza. Mr. Krabs orders SpongeBob and Squidward to deliver it. SpongeBob will stop at nothing to get the pizza to the customer, even if that means getting
Plankton is as small as the average cucumber. He is about 3 inches tall, with two entennas, one big eye in the middle of his face, and d camp green color. He is not big enough to do many things, but he is big in the brain. Which helps him create inventions that will help him be able to retrieve the secret krabby patty formula that he has been chasing all of his life. His
Bugs Bunny upholds the same characteristics as a trickster. In his analysis of the trickster, Sutherland explains Bugs Bunny is bold, witty, and intelligent. As Billy West, the voice of Bugs Bunny, best described Bugs as “(Bugs Bunny) can quote Shakespeare and then tell you where there’s a barroom in Brooklyn.” (Sutherland, 2008). With his natural abilities he is able to outwit and devices cleaver plan in order to outsmart his opponents for his own personal gains. However, not only does he end up winning due to his abilities, he also turns about his enemies during the processes. While he does not seem to go looking for mischief, when the opportunities arises, he will be the cause of mischief in order to outsmart other character, such as Elmer Fudd or Daffy Duck. Bugs Bunny is also one of the very few characters that breaks down the barriers between genders and social class. His abilities to change from himself to a woman and another character needed in order
Introduction: As long as there have been civilizations, there have been stories, myths that are told to children. These stories are usually the basis of the cartoons characters except some which are from creator’s imagination. This story telling is a means of not only comforting and amusing a child, but of teaching the child the societal norms of their nation. These are memorized by children and remembered forever. Children idolize their favourite character, the character they have most in common with and are best able to identify with, and try to emulate that character’s
Cartoons have been use for many years and its modern usage refers to a typically non-realistic or semi-realistic drawing or painting intended for satire, caricature, or mock different things. John Backderf, known as Derf, is a famous and recognized cartoonist “who works out of an unheated, attic studio in his Cleveland home, grew up in a rural, small town in Ohio and went to high school with serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer” (“Bio”). He drew a cartoon in 1995 in which he presents an implicit theory about how and why things evolve to be “cool”. This paper will elaborate on explaining what Derf’s theory actually is, an interpretation of the meaning presented in the cartoon, and a fad or style that follows Derf’s theory.
I wanted to give a brief introduction to the language of symbols by giving my opinion on some very common examples. Correlation does not equal causation but the pattern of association can often lead us to a more discerning perspective when examining usage of symbolism. Symbolism is used purposefully and with intent in many cases as we will see but it is also frequently used unintentionally as well. I chose a few simple examples for this video to get us started on the topic. Some of these images may be disturbing to you so now may be a good time to pause this
Symbols are objects, actions, or ideas that mean something other than itself. In the novel, Tangerine, by Edward Bloor, there are many relationships between characters that can be looked at differently because of the symbols and the Geometric Character Analysis. Erik Fisher is probably one of the most terrible people ever; as a brother and even as a friend. He is a mean, violent and impulsive person who just so happens
Plankton displays amateurish thinking by failing to stealing The Krabby Patty Formula with “Plan Z”. For example, when Plankton first discovered Plan Z, he did not realize that there even was a letter after “Y”. After reviewing all his failed plans, A-Y, Karen mentioned the letter Z. This shows his lack of knowledge for all the plans Plankton may have laying around. Another example could be when Plankton poorly framed Mr. Krabs with a note and a voicemail pretending to be the person who got the crown from Mr. Krabs to then gave to Shell City. Even though it worked out in his favor, he could of made it more believable. Plankton’s style of framing Mr. Krabs demonstrates elementary school thinking. Another example could be when his plans starts
The 90’s was an era full of amazing television series and animation shows that depicted a wide range of characters from a decent assortment of diverse backgrounds for the time. One of my favorite shows was the series Rugrats and it has some of the most memorable and recognizable characters on the planet. For this case study, I want to discuss Chuckie Finster. Chuckie is best known for being Tommy Pickles’ best friend, his crazy red hair, his big purple glasses, and for being the skittish older friend of the bunch who was always unsure of the world around them. Initially, this paper will focus on his reluctant and meticulous nature, then a deep analysis of Chuckie and his underlying problems will better help in attempting to find viable treatments that would potentially help Chuckie in the long term.
Once upon a Time Under the sea lied a sponge. The sponges name was Harry Sponge. Harry has been working at the Rusty Krab.
Think about the characteristic and behaviour of Spongebob. He lives under a pineapple, his best buddy is an ebullient pink starfish named Patrick. Another friend is a finicky squid
Symbols are important in each story to define the theme. Close observation of the symbols within each story proves to one their
A villain is defined as a character whose evil actions or motives are important to the plot. A villain is the perfect word to describe Sheldon Plankton, otherwise known as Plankton, in the popular television series “Spongebob Squarepants”. Plankton’s ultimate goal throughout all 10 seasons is to steal his arch enemy, Mr. Krabs’ famed Krabby Patty secret formula. Plankton produces devious plans to obtain the secret formula, although they do have hints of genius, all of them are quite corrupt.
Sandy is a squirrel from Texas who lives in an air-locked tree dome and wears a helmet and suit, so she can breathe underwater. She is a karate master and exceptionally smart. She is very much an outsider in Bikini Bottom, but everyone respects her wisdom. The characters in Bikini Bottom regularly run on emotions and make stupid decisions, so she is the rational voice among the chaos. This attribute can be seen through advisors, who are supposed to help leaders make sane decisions. Also, teachers can be represented by Sandy because of the wisdom and information they teach students and the guidance they offer.
The fictional character I most relate to is SpongeBob, from the popular cartoon show off Nickelodeon, “SpongeBob Squarepants”. You may question how I could relate to a talking sea sponge, and while it may not be apparent now, it will be by the end of the essay.
