The Merry Adventures of Robinhood is a novel by a man named Howard Pyle. This book consists of the many different adventures of a young lad named Robinhood and all of his many merry men. For the past two months, we have been reading this novel in English class. We have taken many notes, and have almost finished the book. Since we have read so much of this novel, we have a pretty clear idea of who Robinhood is and how he is as a person. Throughout the story, we see Robinhood grow as a character and help many people while getting into different accounts of mischief. Robinhood had the goal of helping people. Robin’s main mission in his life was to help the less fortunate and the poor, along with women and children. He chose to help …show more content…
It's not just to please God. Robinhood understands what it is like to be in need and he helps them. He does many things like give them money, food, etc. That is Godly character, but it never mentions anywhere in the book that Robinhood is doing it to be more like Jesus Christ. In fact, Robinhood does not always help the less fortunate by doing things the Godly way. Instead, Robinhood has been known to lie to the rich and steal loads of money. Ephesians 4:28 states, “Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.” That bible verse clearly states that you should do honest work. Stealing and lying is not an act of honest work. Robinhood continuously lies and steals without any form of remorse. If Robinhood was a true Christ follower, he would realize that his actions of stealing are wrong and that he should collect money the right way. If Robinhood really wanted to be more like Jesus, he would repent of his sin and at least feel a little bit of guilt. Despite the fact that Robinhood steals, Robin is a very well respected young man by many people. There were multiple occasions in the book where someone stumbled upon Robinhood and they had respect for him because they heard of the thoughtful things that he does for other people. There are many different reasons as to why people like
ROBIN HOOD In the years of King Richard the Lionheart (1189-1199) there lived a brave and intelligent man called Robin Hood. He was a feared outlaw, who loved liberty and hated oppression. He took the law into his own hands and robbed the rich to give to the poor. People loved him and thought of him as a justice-maker. In time he acquired a heroic reputation and came to represent the ideal of heroism of his age. Stories about him and his closest friends Friar Tuck, Little John, and Maid Marian may be found in the time. They say that Robin Hood and his companions lived in Sherwood Forest, near Nottingham. They were called the ‘merry men’ and used to wear green clothes, a particular shade of green, called

Robin Hood faces a myriad of problems that can potentially influence the changes that are crucial for Robin’s organization, as well as affect the effectiveness of the insurrection. As the CEO of his organization, Robin has the
This is what sets off the story line. If Robin didn’t take the job to steal 19 million from this guy, there would be no story. He steals the 19 million give to Sister Rachel and the kids. Robin is seen and Robin Hood to her, but to Beau Robin is seen a wastrel person! Beau becomes the bad guy and will do anything it takes to take out Robin Monarch for good.
The idea of providing and protecting the less fortunate is an idea that comes directly from Biblical teachings. Throughout the New and Old Testaments, followers of Christ are warned to protect the poor, orphans, widows, and aliens.
It is true that Robin Hood stole, he was an outlaw because of it. Any person who steals from the rich in this time and gives to the poor will be arrested and likely put
Robin deeply craved approval from many people, including his friends. Brother Luke used his own time and patience to help and teach Robin. On his journey to John’s home, he used many of the skills he learned from Brother Luke. John and Brother Luke were both proud of Robin and all his efforts. After rescuing the castle, the King held a large feast for the army and the citizens.
Robin would love to have a family and settle down and live a normal life like most people do, but he does not think he can because he thinks there might be people who he has robbed that will take is family and either kill them or torture them, which something Robin would not want to risk anything at all” I want to have a simple life, but I don’t know if the life is meant for me” (Sullivan 202), this shows that he wants a family, but does not know if he would be ready to have one with his crazy schedule he has or the everyday job he would have to settle for, which he thinks would bore him to death. His other decision is to keep on doing what he is doing, which makes him happy with all the kids he is helping, which is what he is somewhat leaning towards because less of a chance less people he loves will get harmed and if he stops the life he has right now who will fund the orphanage/ hospital, which he does not want to leave it up to other people to help out with. Robin debating about his future shows that he is searching for an
Robin Hood changed a lot over time. He started off as an outlaw, and almost everyone was his enemy. “And so he came to dwell in the greenwood that was to be his home for many a year to come, never to see the happy days with the lads and lasses of sweet Locksley Town; for he was outlawed not only because he had killed a man, but also because he had poached upon the King’s deer”(Pyle 21; ch 1). But in the end, he was no longer an outlaw, he was part of royalty. “Thus rode the King into Nottingham Town on that bright afternoon in the early fall season; and none rejoiced more than Robin Hood and his merry men to see him come royally unto his own”(907; ch 21).
When dealing with the fictional character of Robin Hood, it is easy to get lost in the fantasy of his tale because of the additions to the story through oral tradition over the years. However, there was a real- life Robin Hood who was much different than what twentieth century cinemas portrayed him as being. The real Robin Hood was born at Locksley in the county of Nottingham during the reign of Henry II. It may be confusing to many people to hear that he was a yeoman, nothing more, nothing less. The ideal supremacy from his legends depicts him as being a knight in shining armor, but the history from his ballads tells otherwise.
In the end, they all become good friends. Robin is lazy but brave at the same time. She is lazy to walk so she falls behind with Frankie. Robin shows her braveness when she falls down the white bunny hole. She does not scream unlike her friends.
Forty-five million Americans live under the poverty line which means that a present day Robin Hood could potentially help almost fifteen percent of the entire population (Gongloff). To those people he has helped, he is a hero, but to those he took from, he is a criminal. Throughout all of the praise and criticism, he continued to make the right choices and provide for the citizens of his town. Although Robin Hood is first mentioned in William Langston’s poem “Piers the Plowman” in 1377, his character changes over time according to the period in history. Therefore, Robin Hood, the young and highly skilled archer who was created in the European area, is the most influential character in today’s society because he has heroic qualities and he
Robin did move forward into the Interpersonal stage because he reflected to the world that he was a productive and a rule following citizen. He became very employable and had insight into what he wanted to do based on his values and beliefs. Though, he did not think of future consequences before acting (his alcohol and drug use) or have relationships that lasted because he cheated and ended up divorced twice. I believe he was stuck between the Interpersonal and Institutional stage. I think he was struggling to move forward, but could not because he had a lot of turmoil and sadness within himself. He could not obtain and keep his self-control and he was not well balanced as an individual. He struggled with self-evaluation and lost sight
