Only one percent of teenagers have an abortion because they may have been raped or they are not ready to have an child. They are also scared because they don’t want their family member to know that they have been sexually active. Other teens have an abortion because they won’t be able to buy anything for the baby, or something might have happened to the the baby father. If you have an abortion there might be a chance that if the teen decides to have a child later on, the teen might have a miscarriage. Abortion is a traumatizing, serious, and emotional performance that teens choose to do. Many teens feel pressured into having one. Teens feel pressured because they feel like they have to complete the wishes of others, It is also a traumatizing

Women choose to have abortion for a lot of reasons some may believe that they are too young and do not have a lot of responsibility of parenting. They may not be in a relationship and cannot handle being a single mum. They may not be able to afford to have a child, they also may not want their life goals to be interrupted (hodesnauser,2011).
Abortion is one of the most talked about topics in teenage pregnancies. When researching abortion, you find many different view points and ideas to the situation. Some of the more obvious view points are those that are well known such as pro-life and Pro-Choice. Although people have abortions they don’t understand the side affects that come along with them.
But, most overlook the potential of the child. For example, Barack Obama, The United States’ first African-American president, may very well have never been a president if his mother had chosen to abort him. She was put in a terrible situation: marital problems were ensuing that would result in the abandonment of her husband, and she herself would be left struggling to raise her son. But, if she were to have gotten an abortion at the time she found out she was pregnant, President Obama would have never had the opportunity to excel in life and become the nation’s leader (Catholic Vote). Respectively, there are also many teenagers, aged 15-19, who get abortions; roughly 18% of abortions in the United States are received by them (Guttmacher). These young girls usually have similar reasons for wanting to terminate their future child’s life, albeit many also have more of an emphasis on their maturity and future or career than their elder counterparts (Guttmacher).
Families are causing most of the teenager’s abortion. They may not want to ruin their reputation with a pregnant child, so the best of their taught is to kill an innocent baby who didn’t ask to be in that situation. Rapping a teenager girl, just to satisfy desires! Teenager’s sexual abuse or incest can cause pregnancy and it always leads us to abortion. Lack of money is part of the main causes of abortion. If you know that you don’t have enough money to keep a baby,
With more and more people veering away from traditional ways, which was saving their virginity for marriage, teenage pregnancy is a serious topic, and abortion needs to be thought about. On teenhelp.com, there are a lot of statistics about teenage pregnancy. About 2.65% of girls ages 15-19 gave birth in 2013. Of these teenage pregnancies, 77% were accidental. Not being married was popular among these teenagers, as 89% of them weren’t (Teen Pregnancy Statistics, 2015). With teenagers having babies, you have to wonder, who is going to have to pay for the kid if the teenager isn 't well off. It was estimated that about 9.4 billion tax dollars were spent on teenage pregnancy and childbirth (Teen Pregnancy Statistics, 2015). That is a huge amount of money to be spending.
In the average year, around 750,000 American teenagers become pregnant in a year. Of those, around 350,000 of them get abortions (Family Planning Plus, 2010). Without abortions, those 350,000 teenagers would have no choice and have to have the baby or they would try to abort the baby in their own way. If they were forced to try to take care of the baby on their own they could be put in financial stress. If they tried to abort the baby on their own they could hurt, or even kill themselves. Abortions allow teenagers to escape a reality that they are not ready for. They also prevent teenagers from hurting themselves in an attempt to get rid of the fetus themselves. Because abortions are legal, teenagers can get medical help and knowledge on how to move forward from a teen pregnancy.
Not all minors are in a safe situation to obtain parental consent. When some teenage girls get pregnant they have to fear that they are going to be kicked out of their homes or even abused. Not all parents are understanding. Some may not approve of the abortion, but still kick their daughters out of the house. The girls are then left not only pregnant but trying to survive on their own. Other teenages have parents that are not around or can’t waste their time to give consent. Some minors would be safer or better off getting an abortion without parental consent.
Each person has their own view concerning abortion, but the majority of people have little knowledge about abortion. Abortion in teens is increasing every year, since morality concerns no longer seem to carry much weight with teens. There are many medical hazards associated with an abortion procedure. Americans feel that it is only the mother's choice whether or not to abort the fetus.
Abortions can be the hardest thing a woman can ever have to do. Many women have abortions not because they want to do it, but because it is something that has to be done. I know this because I myself have had one done. I sat around for four weeks deciding if it was really for the best. Looking for high paying jobs and low costing apartments.
24 percent of women having abortions are unmarried teenagers. Pregnancy can be a scary and extremely stressful time in a women?s life. To force a woman who is not ready for a child to go through with the birth is not the answer. Stress is not good for the fetus at all, and could lead to complications in the pregnancy, or even a miscarriage. People also seem to forget about a women?s mental health in these situations. A woman could be haunted for her lifetime of giving birth to an unborn child.
In a longitudinal study consisting of 4,008 women whom have been raped once in their lifetime defined rape “as nonconsensual assault with force or threat of force and some type of sexual penetration of the victim’s vagina, rectum or mouth” (SOURCE 1). Consisting of three waves in 1990, 1991, 1992, researchers found that those who became pregnant as a result of rape knew who their perpetrator was. “Majority of rape related pregnancies involved a known perpetrator rather than a stranger. Boyfriend, 29.4%; husband, 17.6%; friend 14.7%; other relative, 11.8%, stranger and known, nonrelative 8.8%, father-stepfather, 5.9%; unknown-refused 2.9%.” Much like previous studies claiming acquaintance and partner rape is most common, this study supports
A teenager could feel pressure from the father or from her parents to have an abortion. They feel that she lacks the emotional and physical strength to go through another pregnancy and raise the child. Women that believe that raising an additional child would short-change her existing children. She is a student and/or without a partner; she feels that raising a child would be too difficult and disruptive at her time in life. She doesn't want other people to know that she became pregnant. A child would interfere with her career or education. She may fear physical abuse from a parent if they learn of her pregnancy. She may fear being tossed out onto the street by a parent if they learn of her pregnancy. In the case of a multiple pregnancy, the woman may be faced with giving birth to more newborns than she feels she can deal with.
The composition and content of a blog, newspaper article, and a scholarly article about abortion and minors have many similarities and differences. The piece of writing that was the longest was the scholarly article which consisted of 1,372 words. The newspaper article contained 751 words, and the blog was the shortest only containing 496 words. The paragraph lengths were consistent with the overall length of each article. The scholarly article had about 69 words per paragraph while the newspaper had about 54 and the blog about 50. However, the article with the shortest sentences was the newspaper article consisting of about 16 words per sentence. The other two pieces contained about 29 to 30 words per sentence. When looking at word choice,
Continuing on from the last paragraph, 90% of pregnant teenagers are rape or incest victims. About 1 in 10 girls under 20 become pregnant every year, as well as around 40,000 dropping out every year due to the required care and focus needed for postnatal care. “But opponents of parental involvement say abortions actually are safer for adolescents than childbirth is. In fact, they say, girls ages 15–19 are about 24 times more likely to die from childbirth than from First-trimester legal abortion.” (Clark, Charles S.) Pregnancy in any case is risky and can pose external issues aside from the already potential health risks, but younger individuals in this demographic pose a higher risk of stress and even death when considering every factor at
