Aside from the fact that being a responsible person is a potent trait to have, being responsible has many benefits such as being triumphant in life and having an adequate reputation. First and foremost, being accountable is a prerequisite to thrive in life. “Success is where preparation and responsibility meet,” anonymous; in addition, in order to succeed, a person must withstand the temptation of being fallacious and strive for success. For instance, in the book “The Mockingjay,” a young woman holds the fate of people’s lives in her hands; as a result, she must not rebel but continue as reliable in order to save the ones she loves and cares for. Furthermore, it is essential not to fall into the temptations of rebellion but rather to
The book I chose to read for my second quarter government book was The Mocking Jay from the Hunger games series. The author of this book is Suzanne Collins. There is a lot that goes on in the story, involving many things in the war of her districts. It is causing a rebellion in the districts. Katniss takes stock of her new position as a rebel in District 13. Only three victors were saved from the arena from the last book from the Hunger games series; Beetee who is an old man from District 3, also known as Volts, Finnick who is the the victor from District 4 and Katniss's first ally and Katniss herself, but Peeta wasn't one of them – he's still missing, along with other victors, Enobaria who is the female tribute from District 2, Johanna
In the novel the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, there are many memorable symbols used. One of these symbols is the Mockingjay. The reason the symbol is important is that it helps the reader to understand some of the main ideas in the novel. Suzanne Collins wants the reader to think about the rebellion and the rebels fighting back and breaking free from the capitol through the use of the mockingjay symbol.
“Everything in life can teach you a lesson, you just have to be willing to observe and learn” -Ritu Ghatourey. Everyone learns crucial life lessons in their lives through various aspects of life around them, whether they realize it or not. Learning these lessons is a crucial part of losing one’s simple, childlike way of living. Throughout the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Jem and Scout lose their innocence through numerous life lessons they learn. One way in which they learn these lessons is their experiences. Another way is through their personal discoveries caused by maturing. Finally, they learn life lessons that cause them to lose their innocence through events they observe. This loss of innocence causes the children to view the world in
I have just recently begun ready Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins. The 75th Hunger Games have just come to an abrupt end. Katniss, her family, and other rebels from the games, have just landed in their destination, District 13. Unfortunately, Peeta Mellark was captured by the Capitol before anyone could rescue him, during this sudden change of events at the Hunger Games. An uprising has started in almost every district. It seems that Katniss’s, what seemed to be insignificant, mistake has led to a disastrous war. District 3 needs Katniss to lead them into winning this unofficial war, and finally overcome the Capitol and their unjustified dictatorship.
The Mockingjay is the symbol of resistance in the novel, and whenever the Mockingjay is mentioned it is in a connection to Katniss, so what is the resemblance between them? The Capitol has created Jabberjays; genetically modified male birds, and the creatures that are created by the Capitol are called Muttations, but people call the Mutts. Jabberjays could record what people have said in order to spy on the people of districts during the first rebellion, but people have manipulated the Capitol’s creature for their own good, by feeding them lies instead of truths this is yet another proof of how knowledge is the charcoal for fueling the flames of resistance, so the Capitol has shut down the project leaving these birds to die in the wild. But
Qualities found in moderately good movies are when movies don’t have the average ending. Movies that are outstanding tend to have the most unexpected endings. The quality that is the most annoying part of most movies is the denouement. I loathe the endings of movies because if the movie is good, the ending will be cliche, but if the movie is more than the average, and the ending is unique, then I hate that the movie stops. Impeccable movies are the ones that demonstrate the way life works by showing that the odds are not always in your favor.
I have always been responsible, even at an early age. In elementary school I always turned in all of my homework on time and did well on tests. In fact when I was in third grade in Mrs. Veale’s class I read the most books out of everyone during the first quarter.
While reading Mockingjay, the reader can infer many outcomes in the plot. When Peeta is in capturing, he is put in a broadcast to the whole nation about the capitals ideas. On page 150, Peeta is talking,’” Katniss… how do you think this will end? What will be left? No one is safe. Not in the Capitol. Not in the districts. And you… in thirteen…” He inhales sharply, as if fighting for air; his eyes look insane. “Dead by morning!”’ From this, the reader can infer that the Capitol is going to destroy Katniss and the district of 13. Furthermore, on page 150, “But between the images, we are privy to the real-life action being played out on the set. Peeta’s attempt to continue speaking. The camera knocked down to record the white tiled floor. The
Mockingjay is the best book out of the series. Its about Katniss wanting revenge on the capitol for what they have done to Peeta. She forms a team that will show her on camera so member of her resistance can support her. She is idolized by every one that dislikes the capitol. Katniss also visits districts to show her love and support for people who are resisting. This book is a very interesting mix of all the senses, it contains so much action, passion, love, and pain. The book couldve ended better, like a tragedy in my opinion, but we all love happy endings. Katniss and Peeta return safely after infiltrating the capitol to assasinate president Snow, which in a turn of events, dies laughing as he sees president Coin die by the hands of
everyone and being responsible comes in all shapes and sizes. To me responsibility plays an
Through the course of her Mockingjay duties, Katniss sees first hand what the Capital has done and is willing to do. Prim is now a medic helping the wounded, and Gale is a soldier in the rebellion. Katniss lays her conditions to President Coin in order for her to assume the role of the Mockingjay. The conditions include rescuing Peeta and the other Victors from the Capital, and they will be granted full immunity. The Conditions are met, and to make sure Coin holds her side of the agreement, Katniss has Coin read off all of her demands to all of District 13. Katniss goes to the different Districts to try and get them on the side of the rebellion. When Peeta is rescued, the doctor's in 13 find out that the Capital has tortured him and used the
In 2014, one of the best movies, directed by Francis Lawrence, was released. Mockingjay Part I, an adventure, drama, science fiction, fantasy and action movie, is that movie. I would rate this movie a ⅘ because it didn’t have as much fighting as expected, and Peeta should have been a little more aggressive in the near end as the story mentioned. But, overall, the movie was great. The soundtracks did make it sound more intense a lot of times, which is great, because it kept me off my seat. Mockingjay Part I is a sequel to the movies "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire", and the novel this movie is based on is the third book in “The Hunger Games Trilogy” by a great author, Suzanne Collins. In Mockingjay Part I, it continues on from the previous

In Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird many of her characters set an example for breaking out of the social norms of their time and geography. It was important for Lee’s characters to act in this way to bring about the controversy, they were making a social statement for Lee. From the gender role reversal to the acceptance of racial differences in a time when that was not done, Lee’s characters are truly breaking out.
