The character in the movie that I chose is the actor John Matthews the guy that John Wilkes Booth gave the confession letter to. The role that John Mathews had in the story was burning the letter. The letter was immensely important. He had valuable information that could have been used to save lincoln. If I were John Matthews I would have opened the letter and read it. Once I knew what John Wilkes Booth was planning I would try and stop him. I would have gone to the police and explain to them what the letter said and what Booth had asked me to do. I would show them the letter as proof. From then on the story would have been tremendously different. The story would almost be completely different. From that point on the story would be about saving
The acting in Saving Private Ryan is phenomenal and it baffles me that none of the actors received any real recognition for their performance. The film’s casting is a brilliant array of actors ranging from personality actors, character and wild card, and one of Hollywood’s megastars. These actors bring their character to life almost to the point that you believe, they are actually playing themselves on the screen. One of the film’s best scenes is when the squad maneuvers on and takes out a German manned machinegun nest. While conducting the attack they lose yet another member of their team, the Medic. His death scene is absolutely heart breaking, especially the moment right before he passes as he calls out for his mother. What entails next is absolute chaos. You can actually see the despair and madness on the actors faces as they seek revenge on the only surviving German soldier. The actors deliver their performance so well you can feel what is happening.
In Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, John’s identities are influenced by two opposite societies, and even though he tries to prove his manhood and change the framework of brave new world, he can’t gain real acceptance from anywhere. John’s mother, Linda, is from the brave new world but gave birth to him in the savage reservation and her different behaviors based on the framework of the brave new world caused John’s isolation in the savage reservation. John decides to move to the brave new world and becomes popular in this society, but his identity, influenced by his “savage” culture, can’t be accepted by the community. His conflict with the brave new world finally forces him to try to change the framework of the society, but his attempt is
Douglas Light said that our imagination is better than any answer to a question. Light distinguished between two genres: fantasy from fiction. He described how fantasy stimulates one’s imagination, which is more appealing, but fiction can just be a relatable story and results in being less entertaining. In the short parable Doubt, the readers are lured in to the possibility of a scandalous relationship between a pastor and an alter boy. Their curiosity is ignited because they are not given all the details. Therefore, their mind wanders further than the plot to create a story and characters that acted on one’s imagination; thus, the story became entertaining- flooded by the questions of what? Who? How? By which the reader can only answer.
For example bub was white, a white girl everything would have changed the whole story. Bub wouldn’t have been mistreated so many times. According to page 105 the Amos wouldn’t of lock him in the shed but they did with the hornets. Bub's name would have been Beth and the story was written by
characters exemplified courage the most, and what point Harper Lee, the author, wanted to make through the characters I mentioned in the essay. In the story, courage
Ultimately, I would have married and had children and would have died at an early age because inadequate medical supplies and my 4th and 5th generations would have experience America’s Civil War in which the North and South would engage in a huge battle and slavery were the root cause of the war. For the most part, slaves ran away and joined the Northern Soldiers and fought against the Southern, there former bosses and help the Northerners win the greatest battle in American History. Eventually, President Lincoln would have signed a new law freeing all slaves.
John Wilkes Booth was Abraham Lincoln murder. He shot him because he didn't want african americans slaves to be free and have more legal rights. Since he was a Southern Confederate, he believed slaves were property and that's how he viewed himself politically. He thought Abe was his only one shot to give his stance politically another chance to fight. Booth first attempt was to kidnap Lincoln and hold him for ransom. But when the time came Lincoln changed his plans of going to the Washington bar. he decided to kill Lincoln, Vice President Andrew Johnson, and Secretary of State William Seward on the same evening
In this allegory, several characters represent real people during the McCarthy trials. Both Proctor and Miller, weren’t fond of the idea of sacrificing someone’s name; therefore they didn’t mention any names. For example, John Proctor, the protagonist, is a representation of Arthur Miller. Proctor

Imagine a world where everything is planned out and no one has a choice, where freedom does not exist. This is the world in which John the Savage lives. John the Savage is one of the unorthodox characters in Brave New World. It is dystopian work, set in a world where they worship Ford and Freud. The majority of the novel takes place in the World State, but the novel also mentions places like the Savage Reservation.
In the play, there were many characters that portray the characteristic of the assassinators and the presidents. My favorite character was Balladeer/ Oswald. He is my favorite character because out of all the assassination attempt on the president, Oswald was the most qualifying person. Balladeer/ Oswald. Was an ex-marine was had some experience with handling fire arm. In addition, aside from having special skill to end a person’s life, his character was not as boring as all the others. Furthermore, the person who was playing Balladeer/Oswald character in the play has a good voice for singing. Plus, during the play, Balladeer character was in modern day uniform. Adding to that, I believe the reason I chose Oswald character as my favorite is
While exploring the land for more hunting grounds Hugh Glass gets attacked by a bear and severely injured. Usually men that are injured extremely are left behind to die off, but because Hugh Glass was navigating the journey of the Americans they had no choice but to take him along. However, the journey had become to hard to bare for all the men, and they left Glass in Fitzgerald’s care. Fitzgerald was order to watch Glass until he dies and give him a proper burial. However, that was not the case Fitzgerald killed Glass’s son (Hawk) and left Glass to die on his own. The acting in the Revenant was so profound that it not only kept the audience engaged, but entertained and on edge.
Jack Nicholson unknowingly had a pretty strange situation, growing up in New Jersey. But we covered that in Part 1 of this list. Time to get even deeper in this list of interesting facts about the talented and singular actor.
Charlie Kaufman and Michel Gondry found the perfect, fragmented form to simulate memories in the non-linear storyline of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). The thematic elements of the film helps this simplistic story of love found, lost, and found again develop into a complex pattern, much like the workings of the brain. Each character is everything you would expect them to be in real life – down to earth, imperfect, and hopelessly searching for the love someone can only dream of. We can relate to them because we all long for more than we are, and want the best of us to be shown to someone else. Memories make up who we are, they define us. Life teaches us lessons which shape our memories, and in turn, we learn from them. What if those memories were gone? Are we still destined to be the same person? The protagonist of the movie is Joel, and the story surrounds his relationship with Clementine. The antagonist can be seen as Patrick, who tries to destroy their relationship, or Lacuna Inc., whose purpose is to make them forget their relationship. Charlie Kaufman has created a beautiful story that incorporates so many valuable forms in cinema, and leaves viewers on the edge of their seat until the very end. My goal is the show the class concepts of this narrative, as well as demonstrate how the way the film’s story is told
In the documentary The One Percent the director and narrator of the film, Jamie Johnson, gives viewers a thought provoking look inside some of the wealthiest families in America. Johnson comes from old money. He is the great-grandson of one of the brothers that founded Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals and his father inherited a fortune of one billion dollars. In the documentary, Jamie Johnson takes on the character of a filmmaker seemingly disinterested by his and his family’s overly abundant wealth. Johnson 's initial purpose for making this documentary was to expose the corruption and power of the top one percent. He wants to expose how the rich keep getting richer by showing how his family handles their finances. He claims “Having so
