The song begins with two singers having a joyful conversation with one another. The timbre of the first singer is full, while the second singer’s timbre is full but much thinner, lost as an echo behind the powerful voice of singer one. Singer one is playing a pants role, and the character is easily gathered as being youthful and energetic. His vocals are fast in tempo. The phrases are almost breathless as they run together and reach well into an upper range. The orchestra’s accompaniment, reinforces the melody, following the main vocalists lead. The syncopated rhythms of the violin mirror the soloist’s excitement, as he races through each phrase. The song is full of dramatic pauses especially in the beginning. Just as one pause ends the soloist
The lyrics of this song are uplifting and make the listener feel as if nothing can get in their way to reach their goal. This song is polyphonic because it contains two voices accompanied by instrumentation. The tempo is upbeat and creating a feeling of happiness. The male voice’s timbre is raspy and soulful. The melody shows the sentiments that the two singers are promising each other during the chorus. The instrumentation included strings, which gave the song a sweet and catch tone, and the drums gave a pulsating drums that keeps the song upbeat. While listening to the song I feel like I can conquer the world and nothing can stop me from doing the things I want to do so the sense of power evolves into happiness
I decided to attend the Symphony on the Prairie on July24, 2015. I haven’t been to a Symphony Orchestra since I was very young and I was unable to attend the Symphony last Friday or Saturday. My fellow classmates invited me to the concert on July 24, 2015. I wanted to view a concert so I agreed to attend the Symphony with them. I also like Harry Potter and Star Wars; and they played pieces from both movies in the Symphony concert. Unfortunately there wasn’t any vocal throughout the concert but there were many instruments. These instruments include the entire string family (violin, viola, cello, and contrabass), the woodwind family (flute, piccolo, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and contrabassoon), the brass family (English horn, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, and tuba), and the percussion family (timpani, harp, and keyboard)
In the painting The Music Lesson we set out gaze upon what is a young lady sitting at a piano with her teach next to her. If we look closely at what is supposedly the teacher we can notice that he slightly has his mouth open. Along the room there are various items that have great value. The tile floor is black and white marble. There is also a viola lying on the flood. On top of the table there is a white vase or pitcher that is sitting on top of a rug that is laying over the table. We can also see in the detail of the windows that have intricate designs among the window. In the reflection of the mirror, we can see that the young lady is looking at her instructor. The background of the painting is very light. There is a lot of light shining into the room through the windows. We can see the corner of another piece of art work in the top left corner of the artworks. There is a very intricate design on the virginal and within the stitching on the carpet that is draped over what is most likely a table. There is a very abundant amount of light that flows and shines through the window.
The soprano singer sings about how “Jesus, my desire! Drive world and Satan out and let your image in me renewed sparkle”. The singer demonstrates the personal change and growth that was experienced and how Jesus was and is merciful by helping her through the process of growth by driving Satan out. The composers and musicians are able to demonstrate grace and mercy by the lyrics the singers sing as well as the different tempos used while playing the
“Interlude One” and “Interlude Two” have dissimilar conceptions as they open the doors to “Unidentical Twins” and “The Ladder”, respectively. The former can be compared to a little prayer of pensive cogitation and the latter is a longer, more atmospheric combination of vibrating
This instrumental song is packed with musicological material that is very tuneful. Overall, the key features established in the song are light woodwinds, which produce an ominous theme. Also, a heavy bass chord is incorporated which further enhances the mysterious mood and textures in the work. Although this isn’t a difficult piece, the compositional style is linked and smooth. In the work however, there is a contrasting style- from a harmonized hymn tune to an upbeat dance rhythm which adds depth.
The first Handel Messiah that I've listend to is the one that's performed by the London Philharmonic. What I noticed immediately is how grand the orchestra is and how loud the sound a grand orchestra can produce. Instantly it made me question the authenticity of the performanec because during this period the orchestra that's been use is a smaller orchestra. Furthermore, the way that they hold the sound is very different compares to the historical performance style that I'm used to. Futhermore, eventhough this is a great orchestra, I believe it's lacking in having more varieties of sound color because of how grand this orchestra is. On the other hand, what I also find in this performance is that the part where the soloist is accompanied by the cello solo, I wish I can hear more embellishment in the string instrument. Because I felt that this
In this composition there are violins, violas, cellos, flutes, oboes, clarinets, trumpets, and trombones. In this work it goes from really fast to slow then to medium then back to fast. Just like the speed the volume gets loud to quiet to medium usually matching with the tempo. When the music speeds up the music gets louder vice versa. To me the music expresses bliss and happiness. There are no voices in this composition. The music is also very relaxing at some points but it also get loud and fast so it may be hard to fall asleep to.
I went to the Symphony Orchestra's classical concert that premiered "Beethoven's Fifth”. The event provided a small pamphlet explaining in detail the course of the concert. The primary portion of the show was presented by a short and vivacious development Rondo in D major of Mozart, and proceeded with Bernstein's Symphony No. 2. The second half of the show was dedicated to the four-development work, Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C minor. As I was walking into the auditorium, the orchestra were being to set up and even some musicians were doing a seris of exercises on their instrument. There were such a large number of individuals there, and the lobby was substantially more swarmed than I anticipated. Everyone dressed decent and talked discreetly amongst
The structure of this piece is the whole orchestra, flowed by the woodwinds, strings, brass and percussions. This arrangement happens twice, first highlighting each individual instrument with tempo and dynamic. The second time this arrangement is played the orchestra highlights the same melody with the various sounds each instrument makes. Closing Britten’s musical number in a fugue.
After writing several other concert reports for other Music core curriculum classes, this concert has become the most anticipated one. The Chamber Orchestra of Laredo, the acronym C.O.O.L., is a small unique chamber class directed by Brendan Townsend and the ensemble is made up on strings varying from Violins, Viola, Cello and Double Bass. As a member of this chamber orchestra for so many years, I can honestly say that it is always quite fun to play in the orchestra and huge challenge in striving to become a professional musician.

Through the frantic energy and disjointed rhythms, one can connect a sense of unrequited love, which began to formulate within the 1st movement, and has now erupted into feelings of grudging acceptance, and emotional despair. The rest of the movement, through its various up’s and down’s, illustrate the continued pursuit of reaching this unknown destination and the struggle to be liberated from ongoing affliction. Finally, following an emotional climax in which it would seem the sought after goal was briefly reached, the melody quickly spirals downwards, farther below than where it started even, and it is then conveyed that this struggle is one of perpetual force, its conflict unconquerable.
The opera opens on Rodolfo and Marcello in their cold Parisian apartment. Rodolfo, a poet, (portrayed by tenor Dmytro Popov and tenor Russell Thomas, respectively) is struggling for the words in his writings,
