This decline also affects the surrounding Northern regions with few exceptions in states such as Delaware, Virginia and Ohio. Despite having the highest population density at the present day, it has been notable through recent decades that there was significant population movement towards the South and the West. This Sun Belt region has been a major attraction for people in the North due to its richness in amenities. This can be seen in the map as places such as
In the 1600s, America began colonization. Each colony had a specific goal or aspiration that it planned to achieve. These colonies were separated into different regions among America. Two specific regions that many historians tend to articulate about. Consisting of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, the New England region presents many intriguing ways of achieving their goals. Settlers relied heavily on slave labor to work on farms, which created economic wealth through the use of plantations (Original13colonies, “n.d.). I want to take a few minutes to empty my brain of all things regarding a place I hold very dear to my heart. I’ve traveled a fair amount for the short time I’ve spent on this earth. I’ve been to Spain, France, Jamaica, Canada and all along the eastern coast of the United States, but one of my favorite places to be was a mere four minutes away from my house. Hallowell is a small town of just over 2,000 people in Central Maine. The overwhelming quantity of memories I’ve made there multiplies the infectious positivity that radiates from Hallowell, and has played a major role in who I have become. Of the people I’ve encountered here in New York, people have a preconceived belief that Maine shouldn’t ever be a topic of conversation, because there’s nothing there to even talk about. They are extremely mistaken. Whenever possible, I do whatever I can to show people Maine is an amazing place to live, as well as a place to put on their bucket list of visits.
beaches, that means clean nice water, you get to walk on the warm crystal sand, etc. However,
Its cold, windy, and sunny all at the same time. The beach stretches for miles seeming endless, until it reaches a tall cliff with waves crashing against it. The sun shines down on the moisture in the air creating a “sparkling” affect to add to the view. In some spots on the coast giant rock formations stick out of the water, creating a question on how they formed there. Sea creatures dot the sand everywhere. Walking the beach with sand between your toes is and not a worry in your mind is one of the best feelings. If you time it right early in the mornings and late in the night low tide takes place and you can find sand dollars and unique shells. Beautiful houses and hotels line the beach all with the same withered look they all strive to have, and balconies on every place to capture the view.
