Donna Bracewell is currently the Statewide Project Coordinator for the Georgia Coalition against Domestic Violence. While she is new to this role Donna has been part of the domestic violence movement for over 20 years. Prior to joining the staff at GCADV Donna worked with Project Safe, a domestic violence organization in Athens, GA for 17 years. Donna was hired as Project Safe’s Case Manager in 1999 and was promoted to Assistant Director in 2003. In 2005, Donna had a key role in developing, implementing, and directing Project Safe’s first Transitional Housing program. Ellen Pence, also known as the “mother of domestic violence intervention” and “rockstar of the battered women’s movement” was a social activist for battered women, helped build the foundation of batterer programming with the Duluth model (also known as the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project (DAIP)), which assisted in connecting the concerns of criminal justice officials and advocates by developing a “Power and Control Wheel” (Gondolf, 2010, p. 992). She also created the Coordinated Community Response (CCR), which brings all community service providers to help victims of domestic violence, and created a shelter for battered women. In addition, Ellen is the founding director of Praxis International, a nonprofit corporation that aims to eliminate violence in the lives of women and their children.

The purpose of this paper is to recognize the definition and what a stakeholder is and what it does. I will also explain the two groups of the stakeholders and put the stakeholders in the group where they belong. I will explain what the stakeholders responsibilities are, what their ethical responsibilities to the company. Will explain what would be the appropriate response to the situation in the company. And finally explain what Joe should propose to the management team and how Joe should support his proposal.

The PEACE Domestic Violence agency’s mission is to “reduce victim trauma, empower survivors, and promote recovery through direct services” (University of Phoenix, 2012, para. 9). As described earlier, Mrs. Lentz is responsible for numerous functions with the primary task and goal to assist victims of domestic violence. When I contacted Mrs. Lentz and inquired if there were 20 hours of service of volunteer work that I could provide to her, she immediately said, “Of course.” Mrs. Lenz has been employed as a family violence advocate for the City of Kirkland since 2007. She stated that her main roles as an advocate were to inform victims of court proceedings, provide outside resources, and educate victims about domestic violence. The Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WSCADV, n.d.) provides training for advocates of domestic violence (DV) survivors and their families. This paper reflects my experiences as I worked through the first three sections of training: the history of the DV movement; the key requirements of DV advocacy; and safety planning. The primary thread throughout the training sections is the importance of providing advocacy based on survivor-empowerment and meeting clients where they are. In this paper, I also explore my role as a mental health counselor in an interdisciplinary response team working with survivors of domestic violence.

Domestic violence affects many women throughout the United States. Domestic violence is as a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner (The United States Department of Justice: Domestic Violence, October 2016). Women affected by domestic violence face a number of emotional, financial, practical and legal difficulties. Victims can be any age, race or gender and be from any socioeconomic and educational background. However, concerns rise in regards to violence against women. Violence against women is a problem of epidemic proportions in our country and our community. For centuries domestic violence has been perceived as a private matter of which the government had not been concerned about nor was it considered the government’s business to intervene on behalf of a battered

Stakeholders are individuals or groups that partake, or assert, possession, privileges, or benefits in a, organization and its accomplishments, previously currently, and in the upcoming (Barrett, 2001). These requested privileges or benefits are the result of communications with, or activities reserved by the organization, and they must be lawful or ethical, separate or combined Stakeholders with comparable benefits, entitlements, or privileges can be categorized as fitting into the similar collection: personnel, investors, and clients (Barrett, 2001). The better the impact these groups have on client’s lives and the extra community assets with which they are assigned, and it becomes vital that they are responsible (Barrett, 2001).

Domestic violence is a complex issue that plagues society regularly. Judicial systems all over the United States have attempted to create regulations to protect victims of domestic abuse. Furthermore, scattered scarcely throughout the United States are non-profit and small organizations which attempt to supplement the judicial protection with additional resources. Nevertheless, domestic abuse seems to be much bigger than any services these systems can maintain. Victims of domestic violence suffer with harmful issues even judicial and non-profit systems have yet to overcome and as society advances, even more issue seem to arise.

Domestic violence is skyrocketing in our society. In the U.S., as many as 1.5 million women and 850,000 men were physically assaulted by their intimate partner last year, and numerous children abused by their parents. These sad criminal acts will continue to grow in our society, unless our community takes action to stop these crimes.

The problem my group decided to address is violence against women. Violence against women can be defined as a pattern of abusive, violent or coercive behaviors. These behaviors are used against the victim in an intimate relationship to control their thoughts, beliefs or behaviors. The abuser uses violence to hold power and dominance over the victim of violence. Not only do they physically violate the victim, they also isolate the individual from her support system, making it tougher for her to receive help and leave the horrific situation. This is a prevalent issue in America that does not receive the attention it deserves. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, every nine seconds a woman in the United States is being assaulted, that equivalates to one in every three woman have been a victim of some form of violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
