Stanley Huffy explains that “[i]t is not the position that makes the leader, but the leader who makes the position.” Even though an individual may hold a specific position, it does not mean he or she is equipped for the tasks involved. Many people in the community continue to be blind to the shortcomings of presidential candidate Donald J. Trump. The president should not only comprehend what occurs in the United States political system but should also be an honest and an inspirational person. The leader of our country should be an individual who inspires a vision for the future, motivates people to action, delivers on their promises, and helps the people by leading. These roles can help the leader achieve their vision (MindTools). A president, is someone who should be confident, but humble as well. This is because the leader of the country should believe in him or herself and stand up for the rights they believe in but should also accept when he or she is wrong. Trump fails to meet these criteria. According to New York Times most of Trumps votes are coming from “Republicans who are less affluent, less educated and less likely to turn out to vote.” Although he is on the way to capturing the republican nomination, Donald Trump should not be president because he is ignorant to the national and foreign policy, dishonest, and a poor role model. One reason why Donald Trump should not become president is because he lacks even basic knowledge into the world of politics. Donald
Since the start of his campaign, Trump has offended many different individuals groups of people.
Donald Trump should not be the president of the United states as he does not achieve anything being the president. You probably remember his courageous views on immigration and how he is going to build a wall to stop Mexican’s from coming into the country, but has he followed through with his promises. His main promise was to build a wall to prevent illegal immigration, yet he hasn’t to this day. He also promised that he would ban Muslim immigration to prevent terrorist actions, yet when he took the policy to court he failed to pass it and on top of all that he released a budget with a 2 trillion-dollar accounting error. This not the actions of a world leader, this is the actions of someone who has no idea what they are doing and why they are doing it. In his first 100 days, Donald Trump signed 29 laws. These laws proved to be inconsequential, as only 133 pages were written for these laws, whereas Obama passed only 14 laws in the same amount of time, he wrote 1602 pages to pass them. This again proves my point on the lack of
However, when confidence in the government is lost due to public crises, people seek a charismatic leader. As a charismatic leader, “men do not obey him by virtue of tradition or statute, but because they believe in him” (Weber 1946, 79). Trump expresses charisma in his determination and vows to make “make great America again”, which impresses his followers. Many may find Trump to be inspiring, honest, or courageous. It’s those unique characteristics that gain him authority and is a powerful form of domination that builds a close relationship between the leader and his/her followers. Trump does not abide by norms or traditional policies, he has a personal approach in the system. His passionate emphasis on his ability to restore broken policies and America, convinces and attracts followers that believe in his infallible
“Being a President is like riding a tiger. A man has to keep on riding or he is swallowed.” (Truman) Not only is being a President of the United States important it is also very challenging. The President must be a very thoughtful and intelligent person and at the same time be a symbol of national leadership upholding their role as the Head of state; in making sure to lead the executive branch of government, The Chief Executive; giving him the responsibility to enforce acts of congress in signing treaties, and the judgments of federal courts, etc. Not only is it hard being the president it’s a whole nother level just to be qualified to run
Let’s get the most prominent and most talked about candidate out of the way, Donald Trump. I should first say that I am not a fan by any means. With this being said, I tried to watch the debates with an open mind and tried to look solely at his leadership style. I found Trump to be very defensive, childish, inappropriate, and all over the place. During the debates he loved to talk about how great he is; mentioning four times about his endorsements, about his great friends, and his wealth. Needless to say, he was not able to sway me. I will admit, Trump has extreme confidence. This is a great quality. However, he might just be too confident. It comes off as arrogant. Confidence is great to a certain degree, but it can also get you in trouble. He feels he is the best and everyone would listen to him because he is “Donald Trump”. He is so egotistical. There was one question asked about how Trump would order the military to target families of suspected terrorist after the military testifying the expansive use of torture is inexcusable and will refuse orders because they are illegal. His response: “They won’t refuse; they won’t refuse, believe me”.
Donald trump has no experience in the world of politics whatsoever, but he is the president of his own company that made him one of the wealthiest people in America.
America has had many great leaders throughout its rich history. What is a president, is it not just another word for leader? George Washington was a military leader during the american revolution and later became the first president of the United States of America. He was a magnificent president and he set the bar for what the president should be like. Throughout history we have had many presidents some good some not so much. This upcoming election will decide our forty fifth president of the United States, and may be the single most important election we will ever have. All the presidents of the United States have had a problem that they had to deal with and that they would talk about in their campaigns to help them to be elected. The two candidates either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton will have more than just one problem to deal with. Our nation is not in a very good position so the president we choose has to be able to think on his or her feet and be a strong leader we can trust. A lot of things come into effect when voting for the new president such as the way the battleground states vote. The battleground states are Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin. These states have a major impact on who will be the next president for the reason that most of the time the candidate that wins the election wins the majority of these states. With this being such a huge election that is so close in the polls we need everyone who can vote to
We as citizens of the United States of America are lucky enough to live in a nation where we are free to make our own decisions and pursue our dreams really without any government interference. However, while this is a blessing, at times it can be quite a curse. A perfect example of this would be the ability for anyone to attempt to become President even if they aren’t in the least bit qualified. If you haven’t figured out who I’m referring to I’m talking about one Donald J. Trump. Trump is a business man who has made billions of dollars through real estate and other means. While successful this man has no business running a country, especially one as powerful as ours. However, for the past few months Mr. Trump has lead in the republican polls.
America is one of the most advanced and diverse countries ran off of freedom to date. We get what we want through government by voting for what we think is best for our country. Do you think Donald Trump is whatś best for our country? Donald Trump seems to be planning to ruin the great amount of progress America has made over the past one-hundred years. Basically what iḿ telling you is Donald Trump definitely should not become president because he's dangerous, he's racist, and he's not intelligent enough to become president.
The article “5 Reasons Why Donald Trump Should Run or President” written by Mohamed Amine Belarbi has a strong positive view as to why he thinks Donald Trump should run for president. He gives us reasons such as “Crystal clear, No BS.” “Visionary businessman and leader.” “Understands crisis.” He also gives us his opinion on each reason to understand his mindset and his views towards Donald Trump. Donald Trump is not someone we should trust to lead the U.S. Donald Trump doesn’t understand politics and what it means to have the responsibility of a whole country on your shoulders. Trump is just a celebrity that is trying to draw attention towards himself by using the U.S elections as his playground.
The president is the chief of state. He is the person who serves as the symbolic leader of the country. The president leads the government and acts as the chief of state. As chief of state, the president presides over honors of war heroes, and attends funerals of world leaders. The President shapes public policy. The President represent of all the people. The reason why the president has a difficult job is because the president is always in the hot spot. Being a president is a very stressful job. The stress of having the pressure of government on your back. They always have the public’s eyes on them and no matter what someone will criticize them. Being a President, they decisions affect the lives of people and sometimes other countries. the
When it comes to being the leader of the free world, there is no one sure way to secure the office, instead you must have a medley of attributes the people want in leader, and have shown that you are able to lead. Every candidate must have funding, a platform of views, and some type of involvement and support to back it up. As society has changed, the world has changed, and so it’s only natural that our expectations of leadership have also shifted. With the 2016 race just around the corner candidates are starting to surface at the forefront of their respective parties. After all, the whole point of the selection process is to find a winner, and to do so, parties need the optimum candidate.

“The United States is depending on you” is a simple quote that is both spine-chilling and liberating, for fear that one ordinary citizen, regardless of education level or intelligence, has the capability to designate who will lead our country into shambles or a euphoria. At the same time, I would like to challenge all of you to examine the certain traits and personalities that compose the molds for leadership, or in other words, what is a leader? In my opinion, leaders are tough-minded, emotionally stable (meaning they are able to tolerate frustration and stress), and compulsive. When I think of words like “leader” or “president”, I correlate Hillary Clinton as synonymous, and for this reason she carries, if not more, of all the traits I would envision a commander in chief to be, despite trivial factors such as age, sex, or race. Uniquely In the past, the American citizens have always elected a Caucasian male to govern the new world of land of opportunity and liberty, with belief that only males of European descent could maintain a society for which they live in. However, back in November 2008, history was made! The first ever African-American male has not only run for president, but also had won! That incredible moment,
Donald Trump was assumed to be the guy who would fix everything in Washington, but after two months in office he’s proving to be a terrible leader. Trump was never very popular, but he got ranked for his leadership, but that’s slowly fading now. In November just after the election, 56% of Americans thought he was a good leader — now it’s fallen to just 40%. After two months, here’s what is know: He’s not going to fix everything, he’s not going to drain the swamp, he’s not going to make America great again, he’s not going to bring all Americans together, he’s not going to replace Obamacare with something “splendid.” He’s not going to bring back the manufacturing jobs or the American dream, he won’t make America respected around the world, and most importantly he won’t make us safer. Why not? Because Trump isn’t the strong leader he claims to be, even if he wanted to accomplish all the things he promised, he would fail because he doesn’t understand how to be a true leader.
