Technologies such as the telephone and the light bulb have the simplicity of having only one inventor unlike the Internet, which has no single inventor. Alternatively, the Internet has evolved over time. The Internet developed in the United States more than 50 years ago when it was used as a government weapon during the Cold War. For many years, researchers and scientists used the Internet to share and communicate data with each other. Now we use the Internet for almost everything making it nearly impossible to imagine life without if for some more than others.
