There are many religious beliefs of a Mayan, and they are formed on the notion that everything in the world contains some sort of sacredness. The terms that they used to describe the sacredness was “K’uh” and “K’uhul”. This was used to describe the spirituality in the inanimate and animate objects that have the most divine life force in existence. The Mayans believed that heaven and hell were separated into three different parts; The Upper world, Middle world, and the Underworld. The Upper world had thirteen levels, the Middle world had only one level, and the Underworld had nine levels. The Mayan’s had many gods, but were not polytheistic.
