“The rise of childhood obesity has placed the health of an entire generation at risk.” (Vilsack). Child obesity is a very delicate topic nowadays since it deals with health, welfare, and the lives of humans. The position of the United States towards this problem is clear and negative. According to Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of overweight children in the United States have more than tripled over the years, leading them to be the fastest growing segment worldwide. About one in five students, within the age of six to nineteen, have obesity. So, what exactly is obesity? Recently, causing a broad range of health problems, especially among children and young adults. The most obvious reason for this problem is the terrible eating habits and deficiency of physical activity. This often occurs due to people's habits and culture. Within this new era the amount of obesity has been increasing and resulting in a negative manner by the fact that many people changed their eating habits, allowing fast food to be an option, they became more accommodated leading to a lower motivation to exercise and also permit technology such as television, video games, and the internet to be their bubble of comfort. As fast food started to grow throughout the world, many people blame fast food companies by the negative results on children health problems and obesity, but is it really the company's fault? Fast
