The Alamo was the motivation that the Texans needed to pull through and gain their independence from Mexico. Although their government and army were disorganized and unprofessional, the Texans still came out victorious. This is attributed to their undying spirit and the motivational people that they were lead by. The Battle of the Alamo was fought by many valiant people, but the most inspirational of them all would have to be Colonel James Bowie. It is well known that he fell ill during the battle, but his earier actions spurred the Texans fight. As a colonel, the Texans looked up to him as a leader.
