Jonathan Edward’s passionate and revolutionary sermon ‘Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God’ played a major and influential role during the Great Awakening. In the 1700’s, the Christian community’s church attendance drop by half. In an attempt to renew the colonist’s relationship with God, Jonathan Edwards gave a powerful sermon revolving around how they are dangling over the depths of Hell.
