Almost anyone can become an entrepreneur, although there is no one definitive profile. An entrepreneur can be a man or woman of any age or background. Some people are born with a natural entrepreneurial instinct, but entrepreneurship can be learnt, although it requires an apprenticeship to acquire differ in education and experience. Most successful entrepreneur share certain personal attributes including; creativity, dedication, determination, flexibility, leadership, passion, and self-confidence. On assessment of the Roxanne Quimby case study, it becomes clear that she possesses quite a number of these characteristics, as well as an obsession to pursue an opportunity. Money, image or appearance are not highly regarded by opportunity obsessed entrepreneurs, but watching trends and spotting patterns definitely are. Roxanne Quimby saw an opportunity to launch her all natural skin care company into market and immediately started acting upon this opportunity to create the best skin care company in the world. It’s an unusual concept but she saw the market for it. It was interesting to notice how Roxanne and the co-founder Burt Shavitz started the concept of natural skin care products just for the extra income and then went on to make it their core product of the company. This is a great example of an unpredictable market.

Entrepreneurs are risk takers in the market. They are willing to gamble their hard work for a business that may fail or succeed. Many fail to keep their business alive, however; others are lucky to compete and survive in the market. Entrepreneurs like Maribel Galsim, owner of Maribel’s Daycare, were successful in their business. Maribel’s Daycare was successful because of hard work, patience, and being adaptable.
-Working with Mary, I feel that one barrier that she is facing in regards to her expressing/accepting her sexual orientation and gender identity is fear of being rejected and shamed by her family. Evidence suggests that for LGBTQ young adults, a heightened level of
Today we will look at an important entrepreneur which I would consider a legend. First we will define what an entrepreneur is. We will look at who I choose as the person to research and why. We will also see what economic decision she made that was significant to her success with a detailed example. There are several areas to look into also, such as examples of her managerial economics, her social responsibility and her ethics.
It has been challenging for Kerrie as she tried to lead her team to accomplish their year-end goal. I believe the first critical issue was Kerrie had to get her team onboard to achieve their goal and work as a team while listening to all options and not becoming defensive toward suggestions that affect their departments. Kerrie, an Access general manager for two years, has little experience in leadership (Gurley & Tavakoli, n.d.). Having little leadership experience is a problem when trying to get a team to work toward a common goal, especially when the team will not function as a team. Kerrie is thought of by more than one of her team members as an ineffective leader and Sam was passed over being promoted to general manager, so he may still
Being an entrepreneur is one of the most challenging and popular things to do. Become an entrepreneur does not happen by accident, it requires discipline, hard work, creativity, characteristics and innovative idea. Many entrepreneurs are often experienced failure, but the real entrepreneur usually can get out from the problem they face and become successful. Arianna Huffington, who is a successful entrepreneur in her state, said “Reading biographies of successful people you admire is a great way to put failure in perspective. There 's absolutely no one who 's succeeded who has not failed along the way”, (Inc, 2013). Based on Vinnedge (2010), Huffington has been facing failures
As a General Manager at Access, Kerrie was tasked to reduce her workgroup’s operating cost by 15% by the end of the year (Gurley & Tavakoli, n.d.) . Subsequently, Kerrie consulted with her Senior Leadership team for input, asked for recommendations, and after carefully considering her options, elected to reorganize the account management team (Gurley & Tavakoli, n.d.). Kerrie’s decisions not only positioned her workgroup to achieve the cost reduction target, enhance customer experience, and improve account manager productivity, but they also created risks that must be mitigated in order to achieve the cost reduction goal.
Most successful entrepreneurs exhibit certain characteristics. Some entrepreneurs are open-minded, able to learn quickly, and skilled at conceptualizing.

In other definitions an entrepreneur “identifies an opportunity or a gap in a market and evaluates the risk related to the establishment of the business and is prepared to take the associated risk to start the business in the quest for making profit; and has the ability to obtain the resources to establish and grow a business”. There has been extensive research conducted on the characteristics that successful entrepreneurs possess. These attributes vary widely across literature, however there are common key traits that are required to achieve any form of success. Frederick et al (2013) suggest entrepreneurs are risk takers, optimistic, have sound judgement and an ability to manage. While a review of literature relating to the psychology of an entrepreneur reveals a large variety of characteristics in a successful entrepreneur, these can be consolidated to a a few into only a few traits that are essential for a successful entrepreneur. 1. In my humble opinion, for being a successful entrepreneur you should have, without any doubts, at least a basic knowledge of the economic world; without that you can’t run a business, an enterprise or any kind of economic project. Second personal trait that an entrepreneur should have is a really strong personality, good ideas and an open mind, to be able to see everything in many different ways. Last but not least, I want to mention are romantic relationships; if an entrepreneur has some kind of romantic relationship, in my humble opinion he could not be able, totally, to run a good enterprise
