Executive Summary
SAP stands for the systems, application and products in the data processing. It is one of the largest software company and design business software to incorporate all aspects of the business. At present, the company is offering a wide-ranging assortment of resolutions for the Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT platform will assist business enterprises to easily improve, organize, and accomplish their actual Internet of Things IoT as well as Machine-To-Machine (M2M) software applications. By utilizing this digital platform business enterprise can not only run the automated processes, but can also connect to any application through networking (Kamilaris & Pitsillides, 2016). The SAP, Internet of Things (IoT) is sponsored by SAP HANA that provides access to a comprehensive variety of applications, expansion utensils along with assimilation services. Through SAP, IoT business associates can manage and monitor remote devices as well as can develop network creative solutions for various industries. The SAP HANA is integrated with a complete set-up of unified processing engines in order to assist information streaming, machine learning, analytical examination, relationship displaying, as well as text processing.
This is further improved by a capacity to handle value-based and scientific workloads from the similar information set. This rich arrangement of elements gives an establishment to supporting unusual workloads of IoT information and arrangements. Through
This paper gives a clear understanding on the current state of art on the IoT. The primary idea of the IoT concept is the pervasive existence around us of a wide range of things such as Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, actuators, sensors, mobile phones, etc. These are able to communicate with each other and collaborate with their neighbors to reach collective goals through distinctive addressing scheme.
In order to solve the issue, Amazon web service has brought Internet of things technology (IoT) to secure the connections of personal computers in the home and improve the crop development for the users. The technology can be useful for office security to prevent a loss that is caused by hacking as well as attacks in the network (Amazon Web Services, Inc. 2016).
We plan to split the total infrastructure system into 4 layers to receive context supported e-services out of raw data from the internet of things as shown in fig. 1. These 4 layers establish a generic framework that does not alter the current network infrastructure but create an interfacing among services
The world is getting smarter and better and so are the devices. With the improved technology, we can check our mails on our watch; control our home temperature through our smartphone and much more. The term Internet of Things is referred to any object or device which connects to the Internet to automatically send and/or receive data [1].

Section 3 will show many different examples about how many different businesses are using the Internet of Things to improve their business and provide the specifics in which they are using the devices. An example of a company that will be used in this section is Tesla. Tesla uses the Internet of Things to have their vehicles drive by themselves automatically. Tesla has many other examples of using the Internet of Things to help their business and the rest of them will be covered in that section. This section goes in depth to five different companies and explain how they have used the Internet of Things to their advantage. The five companies mentioned are Tesla, IBM, SAP, Facebook, and Comcast. Facebook has been looking into making a couple of new devices that could rival companies such as Amazon and Google with the way they plan on implementing the Internet of Things. The specifics of those devices will be analyzed more in depth in section
As a business manager it is important to understand the growth of IoT’s, because utilizing an IoT in your business can provide you with information to carry what products customers are looking to purchase. This would enable a manager to stay ahead of the competition and make more sales, by only ordering what your customers are going to buy. The IoT could help a manager make more successful business decisions.
The sudden growth in IT investment is linked with the growth of IOT and therefore naturally an era of increased investment comes with increased business opportunities. The following section describes some of the applications of the internet of things and the opportunities in which they will bring.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is changing how most industries do business and promises a significant return on investment (ROI) in operational efficiency, improved customer experience, risk mitigation, and enabling entirely new business models. The sheer volume of new devices on the network driven by IoT will evolve the scale and range of deploying devices and managing data. Further, recent advances for employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) within IoT are creating many new opportunities to enhance data analysis and better decision-making. Although the notion of computing based on sensor data from things was not born yesterday, the meteoric rise of IoT has recently become practical because of smaller, faster,
In 1972, five entrepreneurs had a vision for the business potential of technology. Dietmar Hopp, Hans-Werner Hector, Hasso Plattner, Klaus Tschira, and Claus Wellenreuther founded SAP in 1972. SAP means Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung which is German for "System Analysis and Program Development.” The name was later changed to Systeme, Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung which meant Systems, application and products in the data processing in German. With one customer and a handful of employees, SAP set out on a pathway that would not only transform the world of information technology, but would alter the way companies do business forever across the globe. Based on market capitalization,
First and foremost, it’s important to remember IoT is not new. In fact, one could argue industrial IoT was invented by stalwarts like Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Itron, General Electric, and Schneider Electric last century through their sensors, meters, and other devices used to monitor and manage HVAC, SCADA, and other energy assets. What’s changed are improvements in interest, infrastructure, and information. While there is considerable hyperbole around IoT, the demand on traditional
The Internet of Things is a complex, innovative system rooted in the idea of connectivity. Individual artifacts that transmit data and information amongst each other ensure a smooth and coherent experience based off their ability to communicate through internet connection, sharing the same network to create incomparable efficiency and convenience. The Internet of Things is constantly developing to work in new areas and scenarios, further securing its essentiality in the domain of the technological future
The Internet of Things is a vision of a global network that connects various physical world objects to the IT infrastructure. This vision has been inspired by the success made in emerging technologies such as Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID), wireless sensor networks, and mobile communication. The realisation of such a global object network will allow seamless interaction and cooperation between the real and logical world.
SAP lauded HANA cloud platform ignorer to leverage existing investments of integrating non-cloud and cloud enabled solutions onto one common platform. HANA Cloud is nothing but SAP’s in-memory cloud platform, enabling developer’s to build, extent and run all applications on cloud platform. This platform provides a set of application services or SAP HANA app services like portal, integration, mobile, collaboration and analytics giving flexibility to developer to build their applications. SAP HANA Cloud integration is an integration service carried out on cloud platform provided by SAP, the launch of SAP HANA Cloud platform for internet of things (IoT) expanded SAP’s portfolio of IoT solutions that helps customers to connect core of their
The concept of the internet of things abbreviated as IoT was introduced as early as the late 90’s by Kevin Ashton, the Executive Director of Auto-ID Labs and a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Now, “the Internet of things is already a disruptive technology capable of determining fundamental changes that are happening in everyday life, and it is considered the fourth industrial revolution.” (Hucanu) The Internet of Things (IoT)
