Ray Bradbury was a poet, novelist, short story writer, screenwriter, and playwright. He wrote science fiction and fantasy pieces that “…have sharply raised the public estimation of these three genres” (Sharp 219). In Ray Bradbury’s famous book, Fahrenheit 451, he strongly emphasizes a dystopian society surrounded by censorship and irony.
Ray Bradbury, born in 1920, Waukegan, Illinois had two brothers that were twins, named Leonard and Samuel. He also had one younger sister named Elizabeth. Bradbury recalls, in detail, very much about this time in his childhood. He has memories and images in his head from when he was a child, of very famous people. These memories and images are said to have had a great influence on him as the fiction writer he is. Bradbury is an American author who has won many awards. There are three stories in particular he has written, “A Sound Of Thunder”, “The Veldt”, and “The Pedestrian”. In 1953, American author and screenwriter, Ray Bradbury, in his novel, Fahrenheit 451, utilizes a dramatic and depressing tone alerting the effects of social issues in a dystopian society, such as order and identity in the world. During the 1950's new technological advances were being created that helped alter the world such as the first ever commercial computer or television. Bradbury's purpose in this novel was to prevent what was to come in the future with the minds of human minds be consumed by new toys and gadgets. With this book Bradbury wanted to change his audience's perspective on the way they perceive books and the social outcome it can have. He implements many Biblical allusions, paradoxes, and imagery to help develop his major themes that factor what is happening in society.

One of them is the Martian Chronicles, a novel about the destruction of the planet and the remaining surviving humans moving to Mars. In the Martian Chronicles, there was a short story called “There Will Come Soft Rains.” This story took place after a nuclear war by the humans inside a house. In the house, there was only the robots that were working in the house, a dying dog, and the shadows of the family. With a strong message of his worries on the reliability of technology, Bradbury also included the poem “There
