The three Core Functions of Public Health:
(1) Assessment; they monitor health status to identify community health problems, they diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community and they evaluated the effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of personal and population-based health services.
(2) Policy Development; they develop policies and plans that will support individual and community health efforts. They also enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure people safety. They do research for new insights and innovative solutions to a health problem.
(3) Assurance; they link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable. They assure a competent public health and personal health care workforce and they inform, educated, and empower people about their health issues. They also mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve heath problem.
The ten essentials of public health:
(1) Monitor health status to identify community health problems, this area they identify the threats to health and assessment of health service that is needed. They do timely collection, analysis and publication of information on access, utilization, cost and outcomes of person health services. They attended to the vital statistics and health status of specific groups that are at higher risk than to the total population. They also collaboration to manage the integrated information systems
