Uranus was the Heaven. His consort was Gaia – The Earth. The youngest and the bravest of their sons was Cronus. He greatly envied his father and long sought to overthrow his father.
Uranus hid the youngest children of Gaia, the one-hundred armed giants, Hecatonchires and the one-eyed giants, the Cyclopes, in Tartarus. This made Gaia to seek the help of Cronus and his brother to attack her husband. Only Cronus was willing to heed her call.
Cronus ambushed his father and wounded him. From that which spilled from Uranus and fell upon the Earth came forth the Gigantes, Erinyes, and Meliae. From that which was cast into the sea came forth Aphrodite. For this, Uranus called his sons Titans, meaning "strainers," for they strained and did presumptuously

This special metal is everywhere and is helping us get anywhere we want. Just as Cronus, the first of the Titans, this metal rules over the earth, the heavens, and the sea.
Since the initial discovery, this element has been described in terms such as mysterious, extravagant, fascinating, noble, unusual, vital and critical. But I truly believe that humans are far from realizing its true potential and the current industrial and commercial applications are far from what they could be, should we be able to fully understand and harness all of titanium’s properties.
In this site you will find everything there is to know about this material. And some facts that nobody knows about it. It is a framework that encompasses all of the titanium interaction with the human society, starting from the mere chemical description and ranging to the impact of in the cultural development.
It is, if you want, the basis of the legend of titanium. For it is a legend. A legend so great that it will be taught in schools, just as we learn today about the legends of Olympus.
You can use my google powered internal search if you want to find something in particular about the noble
Gaea married Uranus and they had children. Uranus was a bad father, so his son Cronus overthrew him. Now Cronus was the leader, he married his sister Rhea and had kids, but swallowed them because it was told they would overthrow him one day. Zeus, Cronus son managed to survive and later killed his father and took over.
The story of Cronos, king of the Titans, was that he had four children with his wife Rhea. These Children are Hestia, Demeter, Poseidon, and Hades, all of whom he swallowed because his parents had warned that he would be overthrown by his child. When Zeus was born, Rhea hid him in Crete and tricked Cronos into swallowing a stone instead. Zeus grew up with nymphs and a goat named Amalthae. When Zeus heard what had happened to his siblings he gave Cronos poison, which forced Cronos to throw-up his brothers and sisters. A war was then fought between the two groups, and the Olympians won, and ruled over the
The Titans were a mythological group that ruled over the world before the Olympians. They were also known as the Elders Gods that lived on Mount Othyrs. The Titans were believed to have originated form Ouranos (the sky) and Gaia (the earth). Together, they gave birth to twelve children, six males and six females. The
In Ancient Greece, there was believed to have been many gods who controlled specific components of the Earth. Cronus (or Kronos) was the Titan King. He was married to Rhea and they had six children: Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus. Kronos swallowed each of his children when they were born to avoid a prophecy that he had been told. Rhea hid her youngest child, Zeus, so he would not be swallowed by Cronus. She gave Cronus a stone wrapped in cloth to trick him, and he fell for it. Zeus grew up in hiding from his father in a cave on Crete. Since his mother had to return to Cronus, Zeus had to be raised by Amalthea, a goat, and a nymph named Melissa. They nursed him and took care of the young child. Melissa and Amalthea had to entertain Zeus very often so Cronus
Another myth this story resembles is Zeus and his father, Cronus. In the myth Cronus is a
These giants Cyclopes where feared by the gods and where banished to earth because of their strength. Later on in the Theogony Zeus
Zeus was the child of the Titans, Cronus and Rhea, and was the youngest of all his siblings. Cronus , Zeus’ father, had been warned that one of his children would overthrow him. Cronus knew the consequences, for he had overthrown his father, Uranus. To prevent this from
When Uranus was castrated, his genitals fell into the sea and turned into sea foam. Aphrodite came from the sea foam. The Twelve Titans then took over for their father as rulers of the universe. Cronus married his sister, Rhea, and would start producing offspring. However, Cronus feared his offspring overthrowing him the same way he did to his father.
The Theogony of Hesiod discusses about anything. It discusses about the “birth of gods/goddesses.” The work of Hesiod presents how gods were created and the consolidation of the powers of gods as a fight that occur between sons and fathers as well as between female birth and male counterparts. In the Theogony, Hesiod demonstrates very clear biasness for the winner of the struggle of fathers and sons, for instance male sky-god Zeus while at the same time showing biasness of males against women (Caldwell, 1987). The distortion or slanting of other sections of the stories is done by Hesiod mainly to make the powers of male and Zeus of the brute force to appear very good while at the same time making other powers of female concentrated much on
Out of Chaos, came Earth and Sky, and the very first gods. In this story, life came from nothingness-a void. From the Void there then came Darkness and Night. From Night came the Light and then Day. Earth, named Gaia, brought about Sky, known as Uranus, and then after lying with Sky, she birthed Ocean, along with the giants and Cyclopes, and immortals. Hesiod's story is similar to the Bible in that it describes children falling from grace and having to deal with the consequences and fallout. Also like the Bible, where Eve is the cause of the fall, it is a female-the "mother" who causes the same problem in the Theogeny. This mother gets together with Chornus, her son, who cut his father Sky's insides out of his own body. In the Bible, the Father has great love for his creation, but in Hesiod's story, the father hates his children, who he called the Titans. The Titans were the parents of the Greek gods of Mount Olympus, thus beginning the line of gods that rose from chaos. There is a similarity, though, in the hatred of the father of the Theogeny and the rebellion of the children that stemmed from this feeling, and the great flood of the Bible and the Epic of Gilgamesh, in which the children were punished for their disobedience by an angry Father or
But their children are fearsome and powerful, and Uranus banishes them away. Uranus’s actions cause Gaia to have her son kill his father. The son then becomes king. The son, Kronos, then repeats his father’s mistake of wanting to remove his children. Kronos is too slain by his son.
Gaea bore Uranus, the sky, asexually and then bore Pontus, the sea. In sexual union with Uranus, her son, she bore the twelve titans (six male
However, Uranus was afraid that Cronus might overpower him and one day obtain all his power. Knowing this Uranus purposely tried to kill Cronus in multiply occasions, but Gaea would always protect him. One day Gaea and Cronus made a plan to have Cronus challenge Uranus and take over his power. So it happened, Cronnus challenged his father and was victorious during their battle and Uranus was left to rot (Bernard 1) "Now Cronus had become king of gods by killing his father Uranus” (Bernard 3). In both Greek and Roman Mythology, the relationship between parents and children are distorted, strained, and bizarrely transformed, because of their greediness for power and obsessiveness to be better than the other.
The creation of the gods starts with chaos and from the chaos came the endless gods: Eros, Tartarus, and Gaea (Love, hell, and the earth). Gaea created Uranus, the first ruler of the sky and Eros
Cronus was a titan and controlled the world along with the other titans when Zeus was born. Cronus usually swallowed his children after they were born, but Rhea took Zeus to Mount Dicte where he was hidden from Cronus. He then came back to Cronus when he was older and made Cronus regurgitate his brothers and sisters. His brothers were Hades and Poseidon and his sisters were Hestia, Demeter, and Hera. He ended up marrying Hera and had eight children with her. He was infamous for his affairs with other women while married to Hera. He had many children and some of importance were Ares, Apollo, Artemis, Athena, Aphrodite, Hermes and Dionysus Hercules, Perseus the Muses, the Graces, and Helen of Troy were only a few of his children. He had many children that were gods and he had a few that were heros as
