Human trafficking is known worldwide as the modern-day form of slavery. According to several sources, 20-30 million people are currently enslaved or trafficked all around the world. This includes groups of people or individuals being held against their will. Human trafficking can be described as the use of force or fraud in order to gain control over another person. Over time, the wicked problem has grown exponentially due to the supply and demand of things. By spreading awareness and facts, human trafficking, as a wicked problem, could be controlled in the future.
A wicked problem is a cultural and social issue that is extremely difficult, nearly impossible to solve due four reasons: lack of knowledge, unknown number of people involved, economic burden, and problems connecting to other problems. Human trafficking involves desperate victims seeking for opportunities. Victims attempt to find better jobs due to the poor conditions they live in. “The new figure is based on ILO data published in 2012 that estimated the number of people in forced labour, trafficking and modern slavery at 21 million” (Economics of forced labour, 2016) Each year, the number of victims being trafficked increases, and it is difficult to find a ways to stops this wicked problem when there the traffickers are finding ways to send victims to other countries without higher authorities knowing. Human Trafficking is a huge issue but most victims are introduced forced to to become slaves
