I believe that this quote does a good job of explaining the major reason as to why books are burned. I agree with the fact that people burn books because they believe the literature poses a serious threat to society, not just because they personally disagree with the message. In most cases the people burn the books because they believe that the messages and ideas portrayed in the literature could have a negative impact on the members of society, especially the youth. A popular example of this is the Harry Potter series.
