Once upon a time, there lived three water droplets named Walter, Rivera, and Juvie who lived in a peaceful village named Lakewood. They were the best of friends and together they enjoyed different activities. Walter would enjoy telling jokes, Rivera would always swim, and Juvie would love to sing different songs for her friends. One day in the peaceful village of Lakewood, droplets began to disappear, Which left many in Lakewood asking what is going on? Then they started to worry even more, and so they went to the eldest in the village to find out the meaning of it. The eldest told them that it is part of life. So he waited and waited until he suddenly fell off. “Ahhhhh!” Walter screamed. He landed on a rocks as well as other droplets. He asked and asked for his friends , but none of those droplets knew who they even were. He wondered if he’ll ever see his friends again. And began to cry but he said to himself that no matter what he will find his way back to his friends. More droplets landed on the rocks and soon enough the rocks began to move. The rocks began to roll down the mountain, sweeping up everything that got in its way. He screamed “here I come!” with tear drops rolled down his eyes. He falls into an ocean with so many other droplets. He begins to ask everyone if they have seen his friends Juvie, and Rivera. He begins to hear a song out in the distance and he knew that voice anywhere. He turns around to find Juvie singing and Rivera swimming towards him. The frame story that the grandmother tells is, in fact, her own life story, her identity, transformed in a way the girls can be fascinated and entertained by. The identity of the main character is empty so much so that the granddaughters “tried to imagine Wen Zhiqing daughter. What did she look like? How old was she? Why hadn't anyone remembered her name?”. (Chang 178) I believe the grandmother did this purposely, not to let the girls try to figure out it was her, but for them to focus more on the story than the person. In American culture, the mother's maiden name is something that is remembered. In Chinese culture, the father's full name has that much importance and even more. Which explains why the father name is mentioned it represents her full identity being from her father's seed and his fathers and so on. Breaking down the title “Water Names” I believe “Water” refers to the

At sunrise on Friday morning, before we could get up to build a fire and make breakfast, Steve and I were awakened by a strange and unfamiliar sound. A soprano hummmmmmmmmmm filled the forest. The sound was coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. When the sun came up the early morning mist over the lake began to dissipate but, unlike every other day, a black swirling fog remained in the air at the far end of the lake. The fog grew as we watched and, like something alive, it rolled over itself in waves as it rose, higher and higher. The black fog continued to turn over and over on itself as it slowly flowed over the surface of the lake in our direction.

I have a family, and my kids were busy, so i suggested that my wife and i go take a walk since the was such a nice day. We were taking a walk around our general area, when we felt a drop of water. It had come from the upper area of the dam, although we had just assumed it to be droplets of rain. After all, the dam had just been worked on quite recently. We went about our walk, and didn’t think about it again.

A small raindrop not only accumulating speed and density but also dirt as it slid down the window of the incredibly tiny four-door that my aunt hadn't washed in a while as it seemed. The drop had reached an ample size and had a plentiful amount of dust and grim as it glided on to the front side of the handle and finally came into contact with my hand in what seemed like my last moments of freedom which I had only attained after leaving my session. The cool air from the vents was blasting powerfully against my cheek as I checked what my Aunt Avery was doing and of course, she was staring directly at me waiting to see what I had to say about my experience.
