They were very excited since it was their first time visiting Mexico, but it all changed once they got closer to the small village which was filled with dirty streets and homeless families begging for food. The sad scenery looked like something you would see only on T.V, but it was worse and the saddest thing he had seen. They finally arrived in the state of Guanajuato where the village was at. The family was enjoying their first chilly night under the stars that were clearly visible unlike how they were back home. Bryan finally broke the silence of the night by telling his grandma, “ Grandma can you tell us the story of the witch on the corner of the street?” Bryans Grandma had agreed but told us not to tell their parents she had told them the story. She said,” The rumors began when a family had moved into the house a week before Christmas. The family did not want to do fireworks that night so they stayed inside the house for

In The witches Stacy Schiff starts off by giving accurate background information of what happened in Salem. Fourteen women and five men died in 1692 because of the witch trials. Voodoo dolls hung from the ceiling , jars of spices and potions on the stained wood shelves covered in spider webs. A altar to there right by the entrance with a sign saying “ do not touch or you shall receive bad luck.” The altar was full of change , dolls and other gifts placed by strangers in hopes of no bad luck in there life. Every step they took , a creak noise appeared step by step . “ May I help you?” They jumped from a female voice
On May 25, 1904, a fire destroyed over 200 residences and nearly every business in Yazoo City. It was the strange and fierce winds that were blowing on that fateful day, unusual for the time, that lead many to blame the witch. The flames were said by witnesses to have jumped through the air, as if driven by some forceful winds. The weather reports for that exact day, never mentioned of high winds in the area. A group of citizens made their way into Glenwood on the day after the fire, and found the large chains around the grave of the witch broken in two. In addition to the chains being broken, they had a mysterious meaning to go along with them, and the mystery may still be taking place right now.
The sunset came forward as Young Goodman Brown arrived at Salem Village. There he saw his wife, Faith, whom he had only being married to for three months. Faith and Goodman Brown watched as the villagers tied up a so called “witch” to the stick. The villagers had accused the Indian woman of being a witch when she was seen dancing around. They had planned to get rid of the evil by burning her next morning. Tragically, in the old times this was a common practice. The people of the village considered themselves pure Christians. At least that is what Young Goodman Brown believed, till one night it he thought otherwise.
Only around 300 are left in the wild, not because of deforestation or other animals. Because of us, and now they’re endangered. We would hunt them for fun, and target the weak. They would attack to protect the young, they aren’t the vicious killers, we are. We couldn’t stop killing and now they are illegal to kill, and people are trying to save them. People who out of pure spite shot them, killed them.
In many evil or mystical stories, there is a past that contributes to the suspense and mystery of the plot. Such things can then foreshadow for the coming evils, making the readers on the edge of their seats. Something that kept coming up that held suspense and suspicion in The Shining, “Toll House”, “The Usher Family House”, “The Goblin Market”, “Young Goodman Brown”, “Catnip”, and “Suffer the Little Children” are the evil places that would be what carried the story.

Honestly I didn't really like much the story since it was a little hard to understand. Also the story wasn't that interesting either. In the story the narrator, a little girl, recalls how in her childhood she would spend her days watching the woman she admired, Amanda, working in the sewing machine. The townpeople gossiped that she was a witch, this kind of things didn't keept away the narrator but instead made her more interested in Amanda to the point of requesting her to made her a witch cape that she never used more than a few times due to the insistence of her mother. Years after she last wore the cape she found it in her mother's store-room and had it with her until she lost it on her first trip on west. When she lost the cape no one
We were camping in the woods like we did every summer the last weekend before school. Me and Alex had heard of an old abandoned cabin in the woods, that had supposedly been home to witches. Supposedly they had come back to haunt it. No one believed those old wives tales. Annie however, well she was scared of her own shadow.
“Ahh you have finished your part of the bargain, have you not” the first of the three witches said, each one more disgusting than the next, “ I have, now fulfil your part”. “ The woman you seek has been here all along”. Just than Geralt realized that Gran must have been the Baron's wife Anna. The witches laughed then disappeared in a cloud of ravens. Geralt went back to the castle to get the baron and to go get his wife. “Have you found my wife yet” the Baron said, “ Yes she is in the bog she was captured by witches and put into a trace, gather your men and we can go get her” The baron gathered his men, along with Geralt, they all went into the swamp to free Anna. When they got there Anna was no longer a human but instead a hideous monster. They could only recognize her because she wore the same clothes as before. “What has happened to her” the baron screamed “ It’s a curse by the witches, I can lift it if I find the source” They started busting into all the rooms looking for anything suspicious. In the biggest building they found 3 black magic dolls with an item wove into each. “ Which one represents her” Geralt asked the baron. “ The doll with the white daffodils, they were her favorite
