The monstrous event that happened on June 4th, 1989 will be forever remembered as one of the most tragic days in human history. However, many decades ago, this event was foreseen and was foretold in the book, 1984, by George Orwell. Orwell saw the rise of totalitarianism, and he was deeply disturbed by what he saw. He believes totalitarianism will be the method that communist party adopts to fight freedom. The book foreshadows many of the events that will happen in a communist society. In many ways, the incident of Tiananmen Square in 1989 echoes 1984, which is a warning that totalitarian government is a power abuser, propaganda manipulator, and democracy suppressor.

Aside from the beautiful architecture of the temples and palaces surrounding the Forbidden City, and the sheer magnitude of a holy space dedicated to the emperor, I think the most impressive aspect of the Forbidden City is the simple fact that such drastic measures were taken to improve the image and reputation of Yong Le. It is by no means uncommon for leaders to make considerable changes—in themselves, in policy, or in staffing—to make a statement, but it seems Yong Le was particularly concerned with his credibility.
Beijing holds many magnificent sights that set national or even world records, including the Great Wall, the longest man-made structure in the world; the Forbidden City, the largest and best preserved ancient architectural complex in the world; and Tian'anmen Square, the largest city square in the world.

The Forbidden City, which is located in the center of Beijing, was the imperial palace for twenty-four emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. In Chinese it is called 故宫 (Gùgōng). The first character comes from 古, meaning ancient, and 攵, meaning to strike. The second character comes from 囗, which represents an enclosure (but it is written slightly differently here) and 宀 meaning roof; together these symbols form the word for palace. It is rectangular in shape, the world’s largest palace complex covering 74 hectares.

The Great Wall of China was built and was useful in many ways. One purpose was to keep invaders from China like the Mongols. Yet another one was to warn China’s rulers and the citizens of approaching enemies. These points will be discussed throughout the essay.
In the game, the Great Wall was built through the will of the Templar Order throughout the years, but mostly constructed in the Ming Dynasty.
