I have chosen Tidewater Community College because it is my stepping stone. College is not just a degree but the completion of a goal I started 20 years ago. When I had my son, I attempted to go to school and work. Due to family issues and other life events, I was unable to finish. Now that my son is in college it is my time to complete what I had started years ago. This is a personal goal for me. I am not a first generation college student. My older siblings attending college and graduated. My objective is to obtain my Associate’s Degree and continue on to my Bachelor’s degree. I have over 15 years of experience working in IT and I want to add a degree to my resume. I believe that this will make me more marketable for my career. These are all
Benefits of attending a community college as opposed to a traditional university tend to be overlooked by potential students. They are either unaware of its advantages or do not fully understand how this type of education can benefit their cause. Year after year large amounts of students choose to go straight from high school and in to four-year universities. The problem with this particular situations is that universities in general tend to have 50-400 students in one
Many students who may not have the best grades or have the top act score can find it hard to get into many of the schools they dreamt about going to but starting out at the community college level allows you to get your foot in the door with school , and allows you to become a stronger student. “That is the understanding- that you will grow a little bit with your first English Class, a bit more with your first psychology class, a whole lot more with your first biology class, physic, and chemistry.” While attending the local community college grow as a student and a learner so when the times come to transfer a stronger student is entering that
I want to attend the Wake Early College of Health and Sciences because I want to learn more about health and because I want to be a biomedical engineer. I am academically ready for this school because I am smart and I am a leader. I know that I am smart because I work very hard in school and nothing can distract me from my school work. For example, I don’t let students that talk to me a lot in class to distract while I am working. Also if I ever need help on an assignment, I always ask my teacher or my parents for help so I can figure out the answer. I think I am definitely behaviorally ready for this school. That is because I do not let my peers influence me into doing bad actions that will lead me to a bad future. Also, I think I am ready because I influence people in doing good behaviors for example having a good attitude at all times. I think I am ready for an early college setting because I already attend an early college school. That early college school experienced me a lot because I never knew how it will feel like to be in an early college setting, but after a while, I know how it feels like to be in one.
I’m applying to UA Early College because I want to be able to step into college ahead of the game. I have been an overachiever since I was little and take each chance I get handed to me. This program additionally prepares me for courses I will take when in college. It gives a more profound understanding of how classes will be and the paces they will go at.
Attending a community college has several benefits such as the low tuition and book fees, smaller classes, and experienced teachers at an affordable cost. In this two year period students also have the time to mature and get serious about their career before they get into the four year institution
Community college is a great institution for students to start their educational journey. Especially when they do not have the funds or lack some of the prerequisite that a university would require. Community college was created to serve the community, traditional and non-traditional students with the best higher education and lifetime learning opportunities. The faculty and staff members at a community college is there to provide leadership in education while going above and beyond to recognize the needs of the students and the community by providing excellent educational programs and support services that are available to all who have the opportunity to take advantage of them. “Student services now include recruitment and retention, counseling, student activities, student health, financial aid, academic support, career centers, transfer centers, and supplemental services such as transportation, child care, and services tailored for specific populations of students” (Cohen, Brawer, & Krisker, 2014, pg. 209). My philosophy in fulfilling the role and mission of the community college, is to establish the mission, vision, goals and values to guide all students on their journey to strive to become successful both in school and in today’s economy.
The last reason I chose Lake Land has to do with the job I currently have. I am a hairstylist, and I enjoy the work very much. Community college has helped me avoid the added stress of job hunting by allowing me to continue my education while working the same job. It’s not always easy finding a job that you’re passionate about, so I wasn’t too keen on the idea of having to leave it. Plus this job has given me a sense of financial security, and leaving it behind would have left me worrying about whether I would be able to find another job in a timely fashion.
Whatcom Community College nurtured my education and helped me to see my strengths, skills, and abilities. I enjoyed my time as a student there and the diverse people and relationships I built with people I ordinarily would never have met. I felt the professors were knowledgeable, and I liked that they had practical experience and would lend it to the subject. I believe in the inclusion and I love the challenge of working in an environment where many different people come together to solve problems together. I value that Whatcom also helps and offers many different kinds of classes to the community and like that everyone has equal access to education and information.
Lees-McRae is a good fit for me because out of all the colleges I have researched, Lees-McRae feels like home. When I first found the college's website, I instantly knew that Lees-McRae encompasses all the values that I think are crucial. Just from the website alone I found a sense of family and coming from a close-knit family of four, I treasure that above anything else. Also, I fell in love with the idea of community. I feel it is important to cherish and be a part of an open community, which I have noticed Lees-McRae provides for all of its students. If I were to attend Lees-McRae I would be active in the community and feel safe inside the family atmosphere. Not to mention, I would thrive in the athletic aspects of the college, the passion

Part of Lowe’s three-year plan involves a realignment of the organization’s instructional and student services to meet the future needs of Brightwater.
Beneath the history of HBCU’s, the table of excellence is what keeps the history and legacy alive. Numerous campuses have great mentors for the scholars to learn from. Some fellow graduates from the same seminary come back to mentor the scholar about the “real world” after college experience immediate bond. Alumni’s have also created a network with a plethora of opportunities and life-long companions. It is a gift that continues to give. A group named “Black Lives Matter” supports African Americans and enlarge black supremacy. Some think that African Americans need to have strong leaders and motivation. HBCU’s have nurturing environment that plays a vital role in personal growth, academic and development, and cultivating a deep rooted connect

I enrolled in Odessa College my freshman year of high school. The reason for me doing this was so I could get a head start on my college education. A college education is very valuable to me for many reasons, but mostly it is valuable because I want to have good income and great benefits for my future job. I aspire to become a lawyer, but I may change my career choice. Taking dual credit is not always easy, but I know it will be worth it in the long run.
Previous to being enrolled at RCC (this is my first semester as a transfer) I completed three (3) years at North Carolina State University. Go Pack! I was in the Poole College of Management en route to getting a Bachelors in Supply Chain Management. As I got further into the curriculum I began to realize that being a Business Major was not for me. I have always had a fascination with new technology and I finally settled on a different sea to set sail. I brought all my transferable credits here to RCC where I will complete my Associates of the Arts. I will then take this and transfer to a four (4) year institution to get a Bachelors in Computer Science; if I had to choose an institution right now I would either choose UNCG or head back to NCSU. I'm still
I enrolled at Community College Allegheny County to continue progressing toward the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree. I wanted to continue learning and not fall behind academically.
