Time Management Reflection

During my first semester at Dominican University, I was given the opportunity to become more independent and responsible. This involved picking my own classes, utilizing my time efficiently, and making sure I was getting enough food and rest. Additionally, I was given the opportunity to think about my future goals, and begin planning how I would achieve those goals. Given my many experiences this semester, I will use growth mindset and discernment to be able to become more confident with myself, be more organized, and be a suitable teacher candidate by the end of my time at Dominican University. One important aspect I learned this semester is that time management is super important. A time where time management was crucial was when I had to read “Inside Mrs. B’s” by Leslie Baldacci for my foundations of education class. Time management was crucial because I had to pace myself to read the entire book and still be able to work on homework for different classes. Through learning this, I was able to connect it to the idea of growth mindset. Growth mindset is where talents and abilities develop with practice. It is a mindset where you are not afraid to fail, and you truly want to learn. Additionally, you are not afraid to challenge yourself and if you fail, you continue moving forward.
