The flinch is the fear you know you shouldn’t have.
”Fact: You can just watch yourself flinch. Act anyway. Forget the internal voice and go forward”
[It’s kind of like when you bungee jump. Once you go over the edge all you can do is watch yourself fall. The fear is there as you fall, but it can’t stop your body now. Put that in your head next time you feel the flinch.]
Ignoring the flinch is rarely fatal and often doesn’t hurt at all.
Every time you give in to the flinch you make it stronger. You make that path easier for your brain to follow. But the opposite is also true. Every time you ignore the flinch, you become stronger.
”Fact: Those who face the flinch make a difference. The rest do not.”

”Life should be an exciting adventure. It should never be a bore. A man should live fully, be alive. He should be glad to get out of the bed in the morning. He should be doing a job that he likes because he does it well.”
”Write down on your card, specifically, what it is that you want. Make sure it is a single goal and clearly defined. You need not show it to anyone, but carry it with you so that you can look at it several times a day.” [I think the point of this isn’t to rely on your subscious or the “vibrations” of the Universe to magically give it to you, but rather to remind yourself what it is you really want so you actions will align with your desire. This is clear as he continues to say...]

Facing Your Fears
But what you often don’t want to face is often what you need to face (and the more you do it, the easier it gets).
To help you take this difficult first step remember this: just as your emotions affect your actions, your actions also affect your emotions.
In other words, ->start by taking actionFocus on the genuine love for another when you are tempted to do your bad habitRemember to face the resistance, step out of your ego and focus on genuine love for another In order to get what you want in life, you have to make other people happy Stop turning to self-help books If you EVER complain or blame someone else for your life, you aren’t taking 100% responsibility. ANYTHING you can complain about can be fixed by YOU making new choicesSo make changes or STOP complaining<-
It’s your choice

“You will find the world in your own eyes, if they learn how to see; in your own heart if it learns how to feel; and in your own fingers if they learn how to touch.” (Dunham 188).
Fear. The unpleasant emotion that often takes control over our distinct morality senses. That’s exactly what fear did to the people of Maycomb in the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird as fear clouded their better judgment and drove their unpleasant actions towards people who were considered inhuman. The central idea of To Kill A Mockingbird revolves around the phrase, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ as it illustrates the racial prejudices of not only the black people against the white people, but also the judgments passed between people that off either the same or different race.
However, if we chose to faces the reality and encounter our fears we tend to develop
40-41 Never simply try to act emotions — emotions are caused by something that has gone before, and it’s this that you should think of. The result will produce itself.
In fact, in one of his pieces "Self Reliance," Emerson indicates, "A man should learn to detect and watch that gleam of light which flashes across his mind from within, more than the luster of the firmament of bards and sages." This quote demonstrates that man should learn to go after their instinct and not ignore their thoughts. By appreciating Emerson's knowledge, students will learn to trust their instincts. Students who doubt their instincts should trust that "If [they] advance confidently in the direction of [their] dreams, and endeavors to live the life which [they have] imagined, [they] will meet with a success unexpected in common hour," and believe, that if they follow their dreams and instinct they will be successful (Thoreau). Students should fight for what they believe in order to accomplish their dreams. By utilizing Thoreau and Emerson's intelligence in life, people will start to believe more in their own intuition.
People respond to threating or stressful situations in a variety of ways. Biological responses in the body gear up to either fight back against the threat, flee from the threat, or freeze in response to a threat. Sometimes the safest solution is to freeze until the threat as passed or provide opportunity to assess the situation and potentially respond. Victims of sexual violence do not choose between fight, flight or freeze — these responses are automatic without a person thinking about them or making a decision. In other words, in a stressful, threatening or traumatic situation, the brain picks the best option at the time. Trauma usually involves freezing first and then fleeing or fighting.
“Action and feelings go together… by regulating the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling.” - William James
Most humans resist the idea of stepping directly into the things that frighten them. Of course, there are some things that warrant fear and deserve avoidance action (crime, fire, hurricanes, etc). But those are things we don 't tend to encounter regularly in our daily lives (hopefully).
* They acknowledge the fear and become fully aware of what is stopping them from moving forward
Throughout the perilous struggle of life, not always being aware of everything is satisfactory and at times can be an even better alternative to having divine knowledge of everything as taking chances and risks is the only way we the people can develop our character, because having an overabundance of fear can’t take anyone anywhere. In Harper Lee’s classic novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”, fearing the unknown is a very fundamental concept throughout the story as it has the capability to hold certain characters in the story back from proclaiming the truth, pursuing justice, and always doing the right thing. In the novel, the underlying theme of the story is best demonstrated through the Finches’/neighbors’ fear of Boo Radley and the court case conviction of Tom Robinson being guilty because of racism, prejudice, and fears from the white population. Fear doesn't help people go anywhere in life because in the present day, holding onto irrational fears that have no relevance in certain people’s lives are exemplified through parenting styles, the education system, and even by the President of the United States. Throughout the novel as well as life, it is observable in multiple occasions that fear has the ability to overtake a person’s ability to make rational decisions and has a direct impact on others lives around them.

That seems like a lot of friends but it includes the outer fringes of acquaintance: the inner circle is only about five.
Everyday I struggle with emotions and reacting before I think about how I actually feel. Many times in my life I will say something in a moment of anger, and I won’t really mean what I said. Len came to class one day to talk to us, and one thing really stood out to me that I have applied to my life since. He talked about how your feelings can influence the majority of your decisions. He then said, “Think about how you are feeling. Why are you feeling that way? You need to think before you react to a situation.”. At first I thought that it would be a good thing to apply to help improve my life, but now that I’m looking back and reflecting on what Len said, this will apply to my teaching career. Teachers will
