During your life there are things that completely shock you.Things that leave you completely speechless.Maybe it was the little girl with the big voice or a grown man doing the splits. What ever it is I'm sure its still fresh in your mind. I know I can remember mine.
One day while my mother was away on an interview I was forced to stay with one of my mothers friends. Her name was Tootie. She was a big African American women who always had everything on hand. She had a daughter who was two grades ahead of me and was the definition of trouble. She would always have some new to gossip about someone and sometimes it was me.
By the time I got to their house, they had already decided we would be going to the movies in Harlan. Tootie's daughter was

Shay only mumbled in acknowledgement before simply turning back to her phone. Every once in a while, Shay would giggle then quickly check over her shoulder. It made me wonder if she was doing something she probably shouldn't.Having nothing to do, my eyes just scanned the room for entertainment. Eventually they found a big flashy question on the screen and it was almost instinct to answer it.
Which famous celebrity is running for office in 2020?
Before I knew was happened I shouted the answer," Kanye West." People groaned and sighed irritated that I has ruined the question. One person even got upset and yelled at me to keep in to myself. About five minuets later, Tootie came back and plopped into the seat next to mine. She looked around frantically before turning towards me. "Are you hungry?" she asked simply. I nodded my head before standing up to make my way to the concession stand. But before I could get anywhere she grabbed my arm and slammed me back into the red chair. " No I have the food." Tootie said. I was completely dumb founded. I looked everywhere. There was nothing in sight. She only seemed

I don't see anything.” A smile reached her lips before she slowly trailed her hand down her cleavage and dug around. As if performing magic, out came a big bag of McDonald's. My eyes widen and my mouth formed a big O. I was frozen in time. All I could do was gape at her. She then pulled a mcChicken sandwich laid it flat on my lap.Though bringing McDonald's out of her shirt was extravagant, that isn't what shocked me. What surprised me the most was that you couldn't even tell it was in her cleavage. Sure Tootie was really big busted, but I never expected she could hide something like that in her breast.
The next words that came out of her mouth kind of scared me. “Are you thirsty? I have sodas and a milkshake. "she said. My mind seemed to go to wrong places and I was still a little grossed out, but as soon as the word milkshake left the mothers mouth Shay had already claimed it as her own.
Before I knew what was happening, Tootie began digging in her shirt again. She reached under her arm, gave a little wiggle before pulling the milkshake out and handing it to Shay. Shay immediately started to slurp on her cold beverage. Her mother then turned to me. "Well I guess you get a
In college Louise choses to befriend another thin girl, Carrie. They become really close and even write one another when they leave for breaks during college. Even still in college, Louise hid candy and would eat it when she thought Carrie was asleep. One night Carrie said to Louise “One night last week I woke up and smelled chocolate. You were eating chocolate, in your bed. I wish you’d eat in front of me, Louise, whenever
The first thing I can remember is when I was laying in my mother bed.
I handed the half drank shake to the girl. I knew the girl would not drink it but still out of my own heart I had to serve her something. The black girl, took it anyway and replied, “Thanks
It was less than a second, maybe half a second, but it changed everything. It was late at night after a soccer game. I was laying down in my room, coloring in a picture book, when my parents called me downstairs. After my sister and I walked downstairs, we were told to sit on the couch. Apparently my parents had something important to tell us, i didnt really realize what was going to happen because I was younger, so I sat on the couch smiling widely.
I can still recall a small but impactful moment I experienced my Freshman year of high school. I dropped my pencil in class
The time I got the concussion. I was skating with two of my friends when I fell over forward onto my head. I got up and I was really dizzy and I didn't know what was happening. My math teacher Mr. Darling brought me over to the bench and checked my eyes. My eyes were dilated. We had to call my parents, thankfully I remembered
Memories can last a life time, so we tend to only remember the extraordinary ones. Extraordinary like the essay “The Yellow Ribbon” by Pete Hamill, in which he talks about how a person named Vingo, was riding on a, bus recently released from jail, to this oak tree explaining to some passengers that he had told his wife to leave him if she wanted, since he went to jail or to go to this oak tree and tie a yellow ribbon around it to see if she wants him to stick around and he will go and check it out. In the end, he saw hundreds of ribbons tied on to the tree. Not only is this an amazing story, but also very unforgettable one as well, because he finds out that after four years in jail his wife has enough love for him to go to this tree and tie hundreds of ribbons just to show the type of love the women had for Vingo. I have to say that, I believe this story is truly unforgettable, but I also got a story that is very extraordinary, like the time that I got my very first car. Furthermore, I didn’t just get a car, I got the love of two truly loving parents.
I have one memory from my childhood that is very vivid, most likely because I was seen on Americas Funniest Home Videos. It all started when my brother had an idea, at the time it seemed very fun and harmless. The idea was to make a skate video of him, but like always I wanted to be just like him so I wanted in on this video as well. Little did I know I was going to end the day in the emergency room, in tears, with an ice pack and twelve stitches, and later find myself on national television.
“Oh right, forgot about that,” and just like that Brennan clicked his phone back into sleep mode. Now to get back to his grand campaign in his game. David was a good friend and he had been since middle school, but he had the habit of bothering him sometimes. They were exact opposites in personality. David was all outgoing and didn’t really keep to himself, while Brennan had been the very definition of an introvert. Nothing you could do about though. Brennan went back to his game, but for some reason the palms of his hand had begun to get all sweaty. He didn’t know why, but he started feeling dizzy too. He ignored it and continued to
She was sitting in one chair and her feet were propped up on another. Alannah admired her black boots, and made a mental note to ask her where she had gotten them. Nealie was so in grossed in something on her cell phone that she hadn't even heard Alannah walk in. For being in her mid forties, she still acted like a teenager. Alannah thought. "Nealie…" Alannah began. "Oh, shite in a bucket Alannah, you scared me half to death," Nealie exclaimed jumping to her feet and hurriedly stuffed her phone in her pocket as if she were hiding something. Alannah smiled at the use of the Irish saying. "Sorry I just came to get a broom to sweep up the bits of glass I broke," Alannah told her. "I heard some commotion out there, what was that all about?" "Some jerk decided to order a piece of my ass with his burger and I dumped my drink on him," Alannah said, laughing at how it sounded. "I'm sorry, I'll pay for it, I just hate being talked to like that." "Well, in that case don't worry about it. Good for you for standing up to that jerk, baby," Nealie said, kissing Alannah on the forehead. She reached into her pockets and pulled out a twenty dollar bill and handed it to Alannah. "For telling that asshole were to stick it." "But - Finn probably scared him off more than me." Alannah tried to protest.
Another memory I had was when my cousin and I decided to make our own slip and slide. We had some old tarps and blankets. We put the blankets down first then we put the tarps on top of the blankets. We put some dishwashing soap on the tarps. Then we put water all down the tarps. We would take turns sliding down the tarp to see who could slide down the tarp the farthest .After a few minutes I cut my knee on some glass that was under the blankets and tarps.
The mother arrived at the library little past 4:15 P.M. because she walked to 7-Eleven to get Gillian some snacks including Guava juice and Pringles. While Gillian was in the car, the mother asked for her preferences of chip flavors. In front of the library, Gillian took off to run away and hid behind the trees although this worker tried to call her back. Gillian then ran into the library and hid underneath the checkout computers. When this handed her some cookies, Gillian crawled out and pretended to be a lion. Grabbing the cookies, she said “thank you” and continued hiding. When the mother arrived, Gillian ran towards her to give her a hug. They checked in a group study
I’ve never been so scared of my little child life my brother Vernon flew across the field and landed on the ground. The ambulance came pronounced him dead and brought him back to life. I say this was a snapshot moment because this was the moment when I learned that I will always have to be responsible for my brothers and that imust keep an eye on them. I guess it stuck with me because at that time it wasn’t funny but now that we are older we laugh and joke about it.
“Fine!” Tannie said, firmly. She spent a few minutes trying to tie them, but the loop kept on coming out. Tannie sighed, looking up. Nereth just stood there with arms folded. Instead of being frustrated, she pulled them tight, and wrapped them around and around her ankle and tucked them into the top of her shoe. She would teach herself how to tie her shoes, but she was too bored of this place.
During lunch in the cafeteria, I didn’t eat my lunch. The flashbacks of Mrs. Price with that uncaring face make me feel disappointed and hurt. I’m not hungry because of those feelings whirling inside me. Phyllis Lopez, who’s on the other end of the room, stares at me in disbelief and disgust of her sweater being worn by me.
