The setting in this story is a future version of the city Chicago. The city is not being well taken care of and is now starting to become rundown. The time that it takes place is not given in the story. The characters of the book Allegiant are Tris Prior and Tobias Eaton who are the major characters. The minor characters of the story are Tris’ older brother Caleb Prior who is the only family she has left, Evelyn who is Tobias’ mother, and Tris’ friends Christina, Uriah, Cara, and Peter, although Peter is not considered their friend he is more considered an enemy but he is of use to them.
The most interesting character in this story is Tris Prior. Tris is the most interesting because of what she is, which is a divergent. Beatrice Prior changed her name to Tris in the book divergent when she transferred from her original faction, abnegation to her new one, dauntless. Tris first found out that she was a

Examples are some themes in this book are when Tris gave her life up so that her brother could live. Another example is when four chose to keep all of his memories instead of letting them die along with Tris. Things I really enjoyed about this book is the story line itself, it almost makes the story feel real. I also enjoyed how they escaped a city they once loved to find somewhere new outside the wall that surrounds the city. Things that I disliked was the ending. I really disliked the ending because Tris was killed off. It disappoints me that Veronica Roth would kill off one of her main characters especially when the character she kills off is Tris. I would not recommend this book to anyone. This book was not that great, I feel Veronica Roth could’ve done a better job at making it more exciting. Although I would recommend the first book of the series Divergent and the second book of the series Insurgent but Allegiant was one of the books I was not pleased with
The easiest feature to point out is that the book takes place in an alternate future where everything seems to be okay, but they aren’t. Another feature that I’m less sure on is that the main character seems to be frustrated, but he also seems to be more confused than frustrated by this point.
This book is great for people who enjoy gore, suspense and a little romance. If you love to see good character cooperation and the characters in a lot of life or death situations where you really don’t know if they’ll make it or not this is the book for you. This books also shows that even the underdogs can still make a difference, and that gives us hope in life when there seems to be nothing left. Again if you love gore, suspense and a little bit of romance this is the perfect book for you, you won’t be
Four was well written and thorough enough to explain the story to readers. They were able to see struggles to overcome, emotions to feel, and anticipation for what’s next to come. The author lets others see what happened before they met Tris. I personally enjoyed reading this book and
In my opinion I thought that this book was a very good book. In this chapter I will describe the setting, theme, plot and conflict etc. This book had a few different settings like
I liked that the book is organized into small little entries. It makes it easier to read and to divvy up the book. I also liked the extended metaphor of a creating a tree that speaks to you; becomes you. In Speak, Melinda’s tree slowly becomes better and better. Along with her tree, she becomes more optimistic rather than pessimistic. By the end of the book, Melinda’s final tree, was given an A+, and her attitude and state of mind were better than ever. I love how relatable the book is to my actual life. The connections between me and Melinda made this book even better. The only thing I disliked about the book is that the incident of Andy Evans raping her was revealed closer to the end of the book. I couldn’t comprehend why Melinda was acting like this until 130 pages in. I wanted to know why Melinda was acting like this in the beginning of the story, so I can understand more clearly why Melinda was acting this specific way. I really don’t have many dislikes for this book, it was pure
7) I can imagine myself re-reading this book again in 10 years because this book is amazing and it is perfect for teenagers and young adult readers. This book is griping and beautifully written. When reading this book you get thrown into the apocalyptic setting. I would recommend this book to my friends because I loved it and all the other books in the series. It’s just great.
One of the things about the book that I personally liked was the characters, some of them were easy to relate to, even if you couldn't you could relate someone you knew with them. For example, David is not one of the main characters from the story but the more you learn about him, the more you realize how ambitious he is, wanted to change his career path almost every week, standing up to Mr. Neck. I think he's one of the things that helped Melinda find her voice.
For the most part, the novel was very enjoyable. One aspect of it that I loved was that the storyline was extremely intense, which always compelled me to find out what would happen next. For example,
Overall, the book is really good and sticks to those three main ideas of courage, weakness and truth throughout it. As both a reader and a writer (I write my own little novels) this book is really goods and i would recommend it to anyone who asks
As the overall book, I actually kind of liked it because it was kind of hard to understand because they couldn’t use “I” and I like challenges. They had to use “We” instead of using “I” to explain they self or the story. The book was okay as a whole but still kind of hard to understand I got kind of irritated after a while, while I was reading the book because of the way it was written.
Veronica’s success landed her in Forbes 2014 magazine as the sixth most profitable author in the world (web). Not to mention only at age 26 Chicago based Roth as one of the youngest writers to have such success (web). Divergent makes the reader think if they were in Tris’s shoes what they would choose. Would you want to be with your family? Or do you want to experience life and go with what the feel is the best thing in for themselves? The readers tend to fall with Trish and the guy she falls in love with. As a critique tells us “Veronica Roth’s Divergent was based around many aspects, but what I like the most about this book was that it displays the not only the relationship that Tris had with four” (web). Tris the main character of Divergent gave the fans a connection with the young teen. “Divergent by Veronica Roth is, for all good and bad, a young adult book, carrying with it all the troops and ideological perfection unnecessary when writing sixteen year old stuff” (web). The book really showed readers that it is okay to choose who they want to be in life and to take the consequences of it. It might be the best thing they do in life or the worst but the best part of it all is that
In conclusion overall I enjoyed this book because of the determination the two sisters have to escape together and be free and to help Adam stay alive and keep him out of their thoughts so the foundation doesn't find
Even though she is Divergent, she feels determined to commit to the Dauntless faction. Considering Tris is Divergent, she is seen as a threat to the community. If she does the wrong things in front of the wrong people she could be killed. If she picked another faction and stayed away from trouble, she would have a better chance of survival.
If I were able to meet one character from a book I would have to choose Tris from Divergent because I would like to know more about what happened at the choosing ceremony and beyond. I would ask her if she always liked Four or she had to get used to him, what it felt like when her brother betrayed their family, and because of Dauntless training whether or not she just wanted to give up and be faction less. I feel that she would say that she felt a connection between her and Four from the first day they met, she was hurt when her brother chose Erudite (the Abnegation's enemies) and that was probably what pushed her to become Dauntless, and I believe she would say she never wanted to be faction less, she would say a t times she felt she wasn't
Overall, I found the novel to be uneventful and mundane. Although I found the purpose of the book to be interesting, I found that the way that the book was written to be uneventful. The purpose(s) of the book were: to address the problems involving race in the south, and to show that innocence isn’t a permanent aspect of life. And although these topics are interesting, the plot of the book was uneventful and only kept my attention in some spots. Furthermore, the reason I dislike the book is because the book didn’t have many intriguing events, and most of the book was just about everyday life of a little girl.
