The book, Tuesdays with Morrie and the movie were both had the same characterization of Mitch and Morrie. Mitch was at first consumed into his job. He also lost faith in his dream to play the piano as a professional, he also was a very self centered man. But throughout the story he begins to change. He realizes that he is missing out on life. Later in the story he learns how to love and the meaning of love. Morrie stays the same wise, loving, and amazing man he was in both the movie and the book. The minor characters in the book and movie were the same, added, left out or were different. The minor characters that stayed the same were Charlotte, Connie, Eva, Morrie’s mother and Charlie. But some the minor characters were different like Janine was more important and more in the story in the movie than in the book. Some minor character that were left out of the movie but were in the book were Ted koppel, David, and Peter. Ted Koppel he was a Abc journalist and was the one that did the original story on Morrie. David was Morrie’s brother who had polio. Peter was Mitch’s brother, but mitch and peter lost touch after Peter got cancer. But through Morrie's lessons Mitch tries to get in touch with his brother and find a connection between them. …show more content…
The movie showed more of Mitch’s private life involving Janine, but the book didn’t involve his private life with Janine as much. In the book Janine was Mitch’s wife, but in the movie she was his girlfriend. Also in the movie Janine broke up with Mitch, in the book Janine never broke up with him. The treatment of Mich’s job were the same in the book and movie. They both kept Morrie busy, and cased tons of problems for him as
For instance, Flora made the book feel sweet and nice as you read it but in the movie Crow played that part in the movie. But since there wasn’t as many characters the pairs were also switched up. For me, it made things more confusing at the beginning to understand the plot but as the movie went on eventually I figured out that the characters who I know and love were not there.
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
The book and movie are completely different. It 's like comparing apples and oranges. (I 'm assuming that you used the newest version with Guy Pierce). The biggest difference is probably the ommision of Haydee and Maximillien and Valentine (three of the main character) and the addition of Jacapo. Jacapo does is in the book, but he is never a large character.
They talk different they would in the movie and book. They have different bed as they would be.They got on the train in the movie and but not in the book.In the book they play Euker and in the movie they play rummy.
Characters in the book and movie are mostly the same to each other. For example, Mildred/Linda and Clarisse are almost exactly the same to their character in the movie and book. Clarisse is still curious and imaginative while, Mildred/Linda is still shallow. In the
In general, the characters stayed the same throughout the book and movie. The difference is the emotions throughout the movie and the book. In the book, people could not tell any emotions that were happening. While in the movie, people can tell what the wild things and Max were feeling. For example, when Carol was upset about Max lying, and destroyed everything out of frustration. Society knew how Carol felt, and also could relate to him. This makes the movie easier to understand because the movie applies to individuals’ life, and most of the public has experienced sadness, excitement, happiness, anger, etc. Therefore, the movie is more relatable to individuals lives.
Some things are different in the book and movie. Like Sunset Towers and Money in both versions. Sunset towers is luxurious in the book but a bad place to live downtown. The money the will was worth 200 million but in the movie it is worth 20 million. Another difference is that the Wexlers moved to Sunset Towers because they had no money, but in the book they moved because they had money. In the movie Jake Wexler is paying off his debt though they have money in the book. Jake Wexler is a
Since the movie had more detail it added way more characters than the short story. In the short story there were only two characters which included
Darry didn’t appear much on the film, but I could know that he was a tough, strict person. Also, I could see that he loved Pony and Soda a lot even though Darry was not a person who shows his thoughts to others. Darry was well-described in the movie, but on the other hand, the other characters looked or acted quite differently from the original characters in novel. For instance, the book told us that Pony looked as if he was fourteen, but the actor looked as if he was over twenty years old; the book also stated that he had long hairs that were squared off at the back, but the hair was short in the movie. Another example is Johnny; in the book, it said that his eyebrows were fully covered by his bang, but it wasn’t in the movie. The novel also said that he looked so pale and scared when someone surprised him, like how Two-Bit suddenly talked to Johnny from the back in the movie house. However, Johnny didn’t look that scared or fearful in the film. Overall, the characters in movie somehow altered from the original
When we saw the movie and the book and saw the movie, there were a couple of thing that they did not mention or did in the movie. In the movie they cut out some thing from the book. They did not really put everything they said in the book into the movie. They also did not really get some people personal feature. Here are something that were different from the movie, than what it said from the book.
There are many scenes and details that were in the book, but were left out of the movie, one thing that differentiates the movie from the book, is the change in character’s personalities and the relationships between the characters. In the book, Candace and Charlie seem like they don’t get along extremely well. Like any brother and sister, they fight quite a lot and they get in many arguments. But Candace seems like she is much meaner to him in the book than she is to him in the movie. In the movie Candace is much nicer to Charlie, and just nicer in general. Patrick is quite similar in the movie to how he was in the book, except for his personality. In the book, Patrick seems less carefree and funny. It seems like he is a jokester, but he can also be very serious at times. While in the movie he can’t be taken seriously and he always is trying to lighten the mood. Even when he and Brad were going through a rough spot in their relationship, he was still messing around and cracking jokes. Charlie was the character that is the most different in the book and in the movie. In the book, Charlie is portrayed as weak, nerdy and extremely awkward. But in the movie he is a tougher character and he seems a lot less quiet and shy. One way the movie shows that Charlie is not very weak is how he only cries once at the end. While in the book he cries all
When watching the film, the first difference the viewer can see between the book and the movie is how the characters are portrayed. A notable example would be Carlson. In the film,
One of the first realizations Mitch has on life is that he has wasted his time attempting to become wealthy and spending money on materialistic things. An example is when they met on their third Tuesday, Morrie explains that “We’re so wrapped up in egotistical things...we’re involved in trillions of little acts that just keep going. So we don’t get into the habit of standing back and looking at our lives and saying, Is this all? Is this all I want? Is something missing?” in order to prompt Mitch into believing that his life is full of egotistical choices that are not the key to having a fulfilling life (64-65). Instead,
Here are some differences with the characters. Meg one of the main character's in the book has glasses and braces, but in the movie she doesn't have braces or glasses. Another main character is Charles-Walace and in the book he is five, doesn't go to school, and can't read, but in the movie he is six go's to school, and can read well. These are the differences
One difference is the appeal and image of the characters. For example, in the book Andy has blond hair and lives with her boyfriend named Alex Fineman. Later in the story, Alex breaks up with Andy. In contrast, Andy has brown hair in the movie. Also the boyfriend’s name is Nate Cooper, instead of Alex Fineman. Another difference in characters is
