Everyone ends up dying. That is a consistent theme throughout the book Tuesdays with Morrie written by Mitch Albom. Tuesdays with Morrie is a biography written in a journalistic style with dashes of humor. Mitch interviewed his old college psychology professor who was dying of ALS. Morrie is a good role model because even though he is dying, he is still finding a way to be optimistic. Throughout the book, Morrie shares his life and all of the lessons he has learned with Mitch. I really enjoyed reading about his advice and lessons because the lessons are broadening; the lessons have helped me view life with a new perspective. A reader can truly learn a lot from this book. Morrie discusses important life lessons: loving one another, having a good marriage, and money's not everything. From this book, the reader will learn that Morrie is a loving and gentle man. I appreciated this because I see some of those qualities in myself. Morrie is an immensely relatable man. In one of his interviews with Mitch he said, “Devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning” (Morrie 127). I think more people should devote more time to loving themselves, other people, and the things surrounding them. Everyone should find their purpose and meaning in life.
