I knew you 'd come to my birthday party, I just knew it!" Jeremy said, when we arrived at my old house, Jeremy opening the door. "Of course. I 'm sorry I haven 't been here for you guys" I said, hugging him. He hugged back tightly. "No harm done. I get it, you had bad times here and you didn 't want to relive them." Blake walked out from behind me, carrying our suitcase and smiled at Jeremy. "Hey man, happy birthday." "Hey, Blake. I remember you. Are you dating Mason? I think mom said that the other day" He asked him. Blake nodded. "Yep, we 're together. Hope you 're cool with that." "I don 't care who you are, if you make him happy and treat him well, then I approve" he replied, making me smile. We walked into the kitchen and I saw my mom who smiled and came over to hug me. "It 's so good to see you, Mason." She pulled away to go hug Blake who looked surprised but returned the hug anyway. "I got the guest bedroom ready for you two to stay in. You guys do stay in the same in the same room, right?" She asked and I nodded. "That 's fine, mom" I said to her. "I assumed you wouldn 't want to stay in your old room, right?" She asked. I nodded and Claire walked in, slightly waving at me. "Wait why does he get to bring his boyfriend and I can 't bring mine?" Mom rolled her eyes.
“-but the one most responsive to change.” She smiles her approval and it feels as if I’m back in school. Her eyes are carefully scanning my face as she says her next words. “What do you think happened when we moved into
“I guess we will need a bed,” she commented “we can 't expect anything from her.” She mumbled under her breath.
"No wonder he cares for you so deeply. You have known him so long." She said almost cheerfully as if it was a good
"I just had to meet her boyfriend for the first time and that was tough for me. I like the guy. She chose a really nice guy so I'm okay with it. He's a very respectful kid. Comes from a good family and that's what I like about him. He's very mature."
“Yeah he’s a good kid,” she said as if I didn’t know him. “It was nice meeting you” she extended her
“Yes, I suppose so. I am sorry for having told you this. I hope you won’t hold it against me. I only wanted to help.”
I almost shrunk under her gaze. “Listen, you don't have to be best friends with him. If anything I just want you two to talk again.”
Charlie nodded in understanding. “Of course. In the meantime, however, I’m going to need dinner and beds arranged for my people. The large dining room in the hall would be perfect,” Charlie informed him as he looked over her group with distaste.
“I’d let you use my bed, but seeing as you didn’t let me use yours when I stayed with you, it seems only fair.” Kimberly knew he was only saying it in jest and she waved him off. She would sleep on the floor if he made her. The couch was comfortable enough anyway.
I awkwardly hugged him back, confused as to what he meant. "Y-yeah." I choked out, looking over at my mom. "You probably don't remember sweetie, but when you were just a baby, you and Justin would play together, but when we moved from Canada, we kind of lost touch." My mom gave me a sweet smile.
“ I don't know what upset you like that, but I'm here for you. I'm not going anywhere, ” he smiled softly.
"Thanks. I'm living with Melody and her parents now, so it all worked out for the best."
“I know. I get it. Really, I do. Still, I know I’ll be fine. I want you to get your life back. I want you to be happy. And….” I trailed off.
“Here we have our own room. Just the two of us. It’s a big luxury. Why would we give that up to sleep apart? Among dozens of strangers?”
Alex leaned in to see the photo. “Awesome! Do you keep your home traditions strong here?”
