This was the first time Kimberly had ever been in jail. The process was not only completely foreign, but also scary. She was going to be booked and put in a cell with other women to await a bail hearing. Some of whom might be in jail for what she’s accused of doing. During the transfer to the police station she pleaded with the officers in the front seat. She tried to explain, but all they commanded her to do was be quiet and to tell it to the judge. Kimberly knew she was doomed. People were desperate. They wanted a face to put to the serial killer and they had picked hers. She was guilty in their eyes and nothing was going to change it. When she came to that realization, she slumped in her seat. She answered all the questions they asked when …show more content…
Axel’s eyebrows furrowed before he took in the picture she was looking at. A grin tugged at his lips. “That’s my sister.” Kimberly looked away, embarrassed of her mistake. “I have an idea to prove your innocence,” he started. She was about to interrupt him when he held a hand up. “I have security cameras in my house. I’ll turn them on and let them record. It shouldn’t be long before they kill again if they keep up the pace they have been…” He trailed off at the end. His face contorted with the confliction inside him. Kimberly could tell that the thought of another murder was tearing him up inside. She meandered over to the living room whispering, “that’s smart,” under her breath. With a grunt she plopped down on the sofa and rubbed her temples. Axel exited the room and returned with spare clothes, a pillow, and a blanket. “I’d let you use my bed, but seeing as you didn’t let me use yours when I stayed with you, it seems only fair.” Kimberly knew he was only saying it in jest and she waved him off. She would sleep on the floor if he made her. The couch was comfortable enough anyway. “You can use the shower. It’s the first door on your left.” He was silent for a moment before he patted her on the shoulder, startling
Although serial killers come in all shapes and sizes, there is a general profile that criminologists go by when trying to profile a criminal. The typical serial killer is a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, kills within his own race, his targeted victims share specific characteristics, and his method of murder is “hands on” in means of strangulation. The types of serial killers include visionaries, missionaries, lust killers, thrill killers, gain killers, and power seekers. Depending on the type of serial killer, their profile may change; for example, certain clues from missionary-type killers can help decide their religious affiliation. Also, certain types of serial killers may generally have different age groups. Most serial

A serial killer is a person who murders three or more people, usually in service of abnormal psychological gratification, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant break which can also be called a "cooling off period” between them. There are different types of serial killers. Some are mission oriented serial killers; others are visionary killers. There are equally power and control killers and thrill or hedonistic killers. There are many serial killers in the world at large with different motives for killing. Some people are serial killers on their own while others kill as a couple. In this case, we will talk about serial killers as a couple. We have the Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo who have a mix of hedonistic killers and power and control killers. We equally have Ray and Faye Copeland which also falls under power and control killers. The paper will focus on the background, victims, and trail of Ray and Faye Copeland and Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo.
This literature review focuses on serial killers from a psychological viewpoint while trying to answer the question, “Are serial killers born to kill or are they bred to kill?” Firstly, this review will define a serial killer and the different kinds of killers, then it will take a look at different case studies of children who fantasized about mass killing and identify similarities between the cases attempt to find a way to possibly prevent their fantasies from becoming reality. The debate of nature vs. nurture is also discussed as psychologists and researchers come to the conclusion that environmental factors play a bigger role in the developmental character of a person than genetics, but there is still no definite answer as to why some individuals grow up with the urge to murder other people and/or animals.
When the door slid open, a much-needed breeze wound through the room, cooling them off. “Yes, sir.”
It was February 12, 2006. My wife and I are about to get ready for the day we’ve been waiting for, we are finally going to seek justice for the man that killed my innocent 4 year old daughter. Since March 3rd I have slept absolutely none, but after today everything will be finished with.
It’s Dion Jackson, the drug kingpin of New York. They slowly walks down 3 blocks to a trash can and hands him the backpack with the drugs and the gun put has the money rolled up in his pocket. He takes a walk down the alley to the other side talking about what happened. Dion shakes James hand while slipping a small piece of paper in his hand. It had an address of “1368 W Chester Ave”. He decided to go the next afternoon while he has the day off. When he got home, he just walked off in his room, ignoring the noise all around the room. He duct taped the wad of cash in the air vent and slowly closed it trying not to make a noise. In the morning he put on his pants and just walked out of the door without taking a shower, eating breakfast, or even changing the shirt he wore yesterday. He went to a nearby diner and ordered some breakfast. After he finished eating, he waited for a good 30 minutes and looked again at the small piece of paper. He crumpled the paper and put it back in the back pocket in his pants. He walks outside and someone just pushed him off the sidewalk put before bracing for the hard fall, he fell into someone's hands and drove
When they woke the next morning, they wasted no time getting ready. They needed to stop by Kate’s apartment before they went to the precinct since she refused to show up to work in jeans and a ratty t shirt, even if she would change into her spare clothes immediately. She still took the time to take a shower at the loft, and Rick suspected it was only because she liked his shower more than her own, even though she insisted that it was only to save time.
“ I don’t believe anything you just said.” Lisa mumbles. What should I do? Should I try to escape? If I make a run will they capture me? I don’t know! I just want to live! Lisa ran toward Lester, who was waiting for her about half a mile away. After miles and miles of walking Lisa was violently pinned to the ground and tied by Lester’s henchmen.Lisa was trying to punch and bite their arms to get them off from her. “What are you doing!”, Lisa screamed.
The room was a bloody mess , Trever had been use to gore after being a cop and dealing with lots of murder scenes. This one was different though , dried blood on the floor and wound , but all of the victims blood drained from her body. Nakita shows up with her black bandana , disguising herself after being here only hours before. She was the coroner of the city , she can wash away any evidence found on the body that would lead to her being guilty . It was a good cover up for extra activities outside of work . Photos being taken in the room , Trever blinks every time he sees a flash go off . “ Alright I think we have enough goddamn pictures of our guest.” He snaps at the crew , walking into the hallway looking all around for any clue . He is confused of this scene , knowing that Father Andrew is dead and proven only by words that he did all the killings. He started to think that his best friend Mark was loosing his mind and starting to do a killing spree. “ Sergeant Bess.” Casey Bess , five eight , bald head African American with a small trim mustache . “ Yes sir.” “ You know who Mark Jensen is right ?” “ Yes sir , knew him back in the day .” “ Good , I'm starting to get
So quick in fact that she’d never seen a trial go by that quickly. These were the thoughts repeating over and over in her head as she continuously drove beyond the hills and crops and at last the residential areas. The police, the attorneys, everyone; they must’ve had their information laid right out in front of them to carry along a case that fast. She even thought that perhaps she had fallen asleep throughout some portion of it and maybe the “real murderer” was framed when she was asleep. But no. For the duration of the entire thing her stare was a deadlock, never breaking eye contact with the back of the young woman’s head. She kept on driving, deciding to push the events of the morning to the back of her mind to work on more important matters.
Many things today confuse, yet enthrall the masses. War, murder, medical science, incredible rescues, all things you would see on The History Channel. There is another topic that is also made into documentaries however, serial killers. Dark twisted people that commit multiple murders are of interest to the population, but what caused them to be this way. What horrible tragic set of events could twist a man to murder one or many people. Could Schizophrenia, psychopathy, or sociopathy? Many people have researched this topic and believe that childhood trauma, heavy drugs during the growing phase of life, as well as many other things have twisted the minds of men such as Jeffery Dahmer, Charles Manson,
“The serial killer ‘is an entirely different criminal,’ ”The term serial killer is misleading on the ground that each murder is intended to be the last.” We see them as a figure of “the dark side of human potential,” but they believe they’re “on a heroic quest for the biggest score possible” They believe they are “the archetypal figure of impurity, the representative of a world which needs cleansing.” However, society knows that serial killers are not heroes, and they’re not cleansing the world. “The figure of the serial killer is violent impurity personified, and it is a construction that necessitates figures of violent purity to confront it.” While it can be argued whether having mental disorders should prevent a serial killer from being capitally punished, it is proven that many serial killers suffer from “paranoid schizophrenia, manic-depressive psychosis, or psychopathology.” It’s even said that “this crime is actually a form of disease. Its carriers are serial killers who suffer from a variety of crippling and eventually fatal symptoms, and its immediate victims are the people struck down seemingly at random by the disease carriers.” Serial killers usually have a stressor in their life that makes them start killing, and when they do “homicidal mania becomes ‘a necessity… linked to the very existence of a psychiatry which had made itself autonomous but needed thereafter to secure a basis for its intervention by gaining recognition as a component of public
The events of the past can hold a great influence on the actions and behaviors of the future. From being raised in a supportive and loving home, to one that is full of neglect and abuse, each event can potentially impact the future of an individual. In the case of serial killers, there has been some debate on whether the evil ones are made or born; does it happen because of a genetic factor, environmental factor, or is it simply they addicted to the feeling of slaughtering another individual’s life? Although, the most important key in finding the truth deals with the past and shapes the outcome of the future. Upon viewing in a psychological stance, there is no clear understanding of why one aspect that most serial killers share, namely
“There’s a killer on the loose” she mumbled in fear. “Sir, are you a cop” she suspected.
