Undocumented Immigrants Should be legalized
This study is an attempt to explore the possibility of not deporting illegal immigrants because it benefits the United States economy in many aspects. Millions of illegal immigrants who live in the United State of America without any documents live in fear and feel that they will be deported back soon for not having a legal document. Illegal immigration has become a widely debated issue in recent years, especially among the some U.S Presidents and Presidential candidates. Process of bringing black slaves was very harsh because they would be transported in small ships with hundreds of people. Some would not make in the America because they would find many types of sickness and die on the ship. As their economy was really bad, they would come to have a better life in America (Snyder 23-24). The importation of slaves as labors in America was banned by the Congress in 1808. (Kenny 35). However, for the last decades entering illegal immigrants in America became hot news, mostly people who cross the borders illegally without any documents are from Mexico and Latin America. They took so much risk to enter to establish new lives in America. There is not an exact number of how many illegal immigrants are living in America today. However, reports indicate that illegal immigrants who live in America is about to 12 million today as it’s documented and (Orreniu and Zavodny,86) .They put their lives in risk to enter, some success and some get deported back to their own countries. They look for new opportunity as their country does not have. Today, illegal immigrants became a dilemma between lawmakers and executive branch, especially some Presidential candidate who explicitly announced that they are against anyone who enters illegally in America. However, they might not have noticed how important illegal immigrants are in the American economy. Despite the fact illegal immigrants have no documents; they contribute billions of dollars to the Social Security Administration yearly and get nothing back when they retire (Porter 10). There is not an exact amount how much they contribute, however, researchers indicate that illegal immigrant contribute roughly around $ 7 billion to Social Security Administration (Porter 10). Illegal immigrants are classified as undocumented people in the United States, but that does not mean they do not help fund state and local taxes. They must file their taxes yearly. IRS enacted a system called, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) to track illegal immigrants who are employed. There is not an exact number that measures how many illegal immigrants pay taxes yearly, but many of them definitely pay their taxes for the IRS yearly which benefits the U.S. economy. (Lipman
