Politicians, parents, teachers and students are equally responsible for this kind of situations. Politicians interfere in the activities of the college, promoting groupism, among students. This can be observed during the elections to the students unions. Considerable amount time, money and energy are wasted on campaigning. This unnecessary practices are going to develop the leadership qualities in the students.
Though the elections are held for developing the leadership qualities, only hatred and rivalry is present. Todays education has to be bought. Now we find that for a seat in the medical college one has to pay huge amount of money. When a student has gone through the medical course in this way and set up practice, his first concern is to spent the money which he has spent to pass the exam and get the medical seat. Todays education is a process of killing the mind with the contents of the book emptying the contents in the examination hall and returning empty headed.
The relationship between the student and the teacher is not cordial. We cannot think of the older days Guru-Shishya relationship. Westernised systems and policies in our education, are slowly destroying our culture and eritage.
World problems and Role of Value based Education
World problems are now assuming stronger forms and larger proportions. They are no longer individual or local. They are
However, within the teaching role, there must be a clear boundary regarding ‘the relationship’. You are the leader, the one with the knowledge of the subject matter. Therefore, you should be ready to teach all students, and become involved in their ‘study life’ whilst maintaining and appropriate distance from their ‘out of study life’.
“Mansi, your grandfather was very religious, but he also knew that India is not the same now that it was when his father was a priest,” Dad thought very carefully as he spoke. “He had to admit that no matter how hard I worked, it would be difficult to raise you and your brother here if we wanted secure futures for
An issue that impacts the world globally is poverty. Poverty is a problem that is not to be taken likely. Poverty affects almost the majority of the world's population, and it can turn into hate, lust and other things that can affect family, friends, cities, government, and even nations. Take Germany for example. During the era of WWII, the Germans started to go down an economic slump and recession because of the harsh Treaty of Versailles that France and Britain dictated on. Corrupt leaders in Germany influenced the poor that Jews were the reason for the loss of the first World War. Because the people were tired of living in poverty, they decided to believe these so-called "leaders" and scapegoat the Jews, and they did not take the acceptance
A successful application of this concept, created in 2008, is Khan Academy. Students create accounts and sign into the Kahn Academy to choose a course of study. They have the option of choosing their starting point or taking an assessment to define their level. Students watch videos and work through practice exercises; all the while, their progress monitored. Badges are earned at a variety of achievement levels creating a sense of accomplishment, as well as bragging rights with peers when this program is utilized in a blended format within an educational setting (Khan Academy, n.d.).
This almost perfect match started after the death of Nikhil’s father, Ashoke. After his death, Nikhil finally understood where his father came from and was
First of all, every culture has different customs implemented on its community. This is especially evident in “Matrimony with a Proper Stranger”, which details the circumstances of arranged marriage and its application in Indian life.
f the Indians have never been out of the forest, they will not refuse to return to the forest, it will not be tragic death. Just like a Fang Niuwa never been out of the mountains, and his wish is to grow up quickly cow, make money and have more cattle, then bigger can hope to sell cattle to marry his wife, and is selling the cattle can feed baby, then the baby becomes again wish. Then one day, a good-hearted people the baby out of the mountain, let him know that the cattle grew better than looking forward to the things of the world, and then you say that you have to talk to the baby back in the mountains or going to die and I think ...... the truth about this.
Think about a problem or challenge you are facing or have faced. Using the sociological imagination, describe that problem or challenge: (1) as if it were a trouble and (2) as if it were an issue. How might globalization impact this issue?
Second generation Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) such as Preeti and ‘Orphan’ do not even know that the touching of elder’s feet is to seek their blessings. Furthermore, the NRIs who slant their Indian names in a modern angle like ‘Mohan’ to ‘Man’ and ‘Omkar’ to ‘Opee’ prove their dismissal of the Indian roots. The Indians Bharat meet in London have not just forgotten their history but despise it. Thus, he sings ‘Bharat Ka Rehne wala’, a song full of achievements by Indians and praises for India. Despite being Hindus, Indians who are born and bred in London like Preeti do not know what Bhagavad-Gita is as shown in the scene where she asks Bharat if he is reading a novel where the female protagonist is called Gita. However, I do feel that these are slightly exaggerated as the Indians may not be unaware of their roots to this extent.
Dee Hock once said, “An organization no matter how well designed, is only as good as the people who live and work in it.” Hock’s words are the epitome of how a successful organization functions, as without the people an organization is nothing much like leadership. For the CLIP project we chose to analyze and participate in the University Program Board (UPB) because it is one of the most well known and most active organizations on campus. UPB, first began in 1953 as a student volunteer organization and has since evolved to the organization it is today. The board has gone through many forms and name changes, adjusting to the present needs of students to offer the best in entertainment. UPB is comprised of one full-time staff advisor,
Do as you wish.” (Lahiri 100). Preceding with no hesitation, Nikhil goes to the court, fills out the necessary documents and is then seen by the judge: ‘What is the reason you wish to change your name, Mr. Ganguli?’ the judge asks. The question catches him off-guard … he takes a deep breath and tells the people in the courtroom what he has never dared to admit to his parents.
Some are debating the possibility of smaller circumstances affecting a larger scale of people, and it is possible,
Among the reasons for this is the fact that the youthful nature of college students gets them more vibrant about the issues faced by the nation, they are young intellectuals who what to secure their future after school and thus they are keen on the policies by the government, they are quick to demonstrate and protest atrocities they feel are against the good will of the society (Hensley, 44). another reason is the fact that the youth in colleges
Despite, religion playing such an undeniably quintessential role in a large part of his, he makes a complete mockery of religion and deities he once venerated. For example, when dreaming about expanding his business, he imagines a school where teachers cannot “corrupt anyone's head with prayers and stories about God or Gandhi—nothing but the facts of life for these kids” (Adiga 192). The phrase “nothing but the facts of life” suggests that religion is a purely useless distraction keeping you from achieving success in life. Another example of mockery is right at the beginning of the novel, before Balram recounts his life story, when he states that he has 36,000,000 Gods and Goddesses to whom he can pray, he adds “It is an ancient and venerated custom of people in my country to start a story by praying to a Higher Power. I guess, Your Excellency, that I too should start off by kissing some god's arse” (Adiga 4). Diction in this sentence, for example, words “I guess” and “god’s arse”, gives the passage a humorous tone, as well as implies that he does not believe in religious traditions, like he used to. He treats religion as a fallacy and just another corrupted thing by the government, putting himself above values extremely integral, if not intrinsic, within Indian
One of the greatest points of this story is to show people the perfect way to practice dharma in everyday life. Loyalty is something that the Hindu culture truly values and lives by, especially loyalty to parents. In the Ramayana we see a perfect example of that, Rama gives up his kingdom and lives in the forest for fourteen years to abide by a promise his father made to his wife. The strength of family solidarity remains important in India. It is a form of security for individual Indians amid difficult economic and emotional crises. Approximately 95% of all marriages in India are arranged by parents. This tradition endures largely because of the faith Indians have in the wisdom of their parents to make the most successful matches (Grant, 7).
