In the reproductive health context, abortion is still a controversial topic that still being discussed by many organizations and government body. The World Health Organization (WHO) show the meaning about unsafe abortion as a procedure for terminating a pregnancy performed by persons lacking the significant skills or in an environment, not in conformity with minimal medical standards, or both. In Cambodia, because of poor health care system and the poverty the women, especially in the rural areas are decided to get unsafe abortion services from traditional medical practitioners or other unqualified healthcare providers. These activities are really dangerous.
Every culture and society does not allow or consider abortion as a rightful act, and abortion is a name of destroying human life. In my opinion, I believe abortion is a growing problem and the people of the United States fail to apprehend it. The actual termination of the pregnancy could leave the mother suffering from a serious illness or even be fatal.

Recently recognized as a right to women and their bodies, abortion was not an option for most women in the nineteenth century. Prior to Roe v. Wade, there was a system designed to give men control over women’s biological nature to have children. This created legislation that allowed men to dictate when the birthing process would occur, giving men power over their children and wives. Legislation aimed at women’s health care undermined the careers of midwives usually in charge of performing safe abortions, and strengthened the male dominated medical field. This was partly to solidify the legitimacy of a child to ensure property inheritance, but also to undermine the rights to women’s body, consent and privacy.
