45. The Apple Cider Vinegar Diet Yes, the vinegar does have plenty of health properties, but it shouldn’t be the basis of any diet. This sees dieters taking three teaspoons of it before they eat. If you take it that often, though, it’s likely going to irritate your throat because it’s highly acidic. 46. The Cookie Diet No, you don’t get to eat chocolate chip cookies all day every day. You eat special cookies to control your appetite and then sit down to a small meal in the evening. It’s strict and you’re set 800 calories a day. Exercise is strictly forbidden. 47. The Sleeping Beauty Diet This one probably isn’t on your radar, but it’s been around since the days of Elvis (he was supposedly a fan). Just take drugs to knock yourself out
Ethnocentrism is the belief in the superiority of one’s own group. It’s a universal habit that ethnocentric individuals tend to compare and judge other cultural practices to be inferior. Ethnocentrism encourages the solidarity in groups; it creates the feeling of belonging and drives the individuals to build pride in the group. However, ethnocentrism hinders the understanding of the cooperation with other groups. With the sense of superiority, there is little incentive to interact with the inferior groups. While making generalization about the culture and customs of others, ethnocentric individuals aren’t being aware that they tend to make false assumptions regarding the cultural differences. Furthermore, extreme ethnocentrism is likely to
It has been 60 years since we have last record the events in the Nacirema culture and now researches today are baffled by the culture of the young Nacirema children. For example these young are spending day and night with their noses in these light boxes. Day after day, night after night these children love to stare at these hand size light boxes. We don’t exactly know what’s so entertaining about the light or the box, but we see them laugh, smile, cry, and get angry while looking into the light boxes. The older generation of the Nacirema indicates a great display of disapproval of them, but hypocritically many of them spend almost just as much time viewing into the light boxes as well.
The Nacirema is a North America group who lives around the area of Canadian Cree, the Yaqui, Tarahumare of Mexico, the Carib, and Arawak of Antilles. The ritual activity is a big part in the Nacirema's lives. They spend a considerable amount of time performing a secretive ceremonies and posses a great amount of tolerance. Their focus is on the human body appearance and health. It is to their believe that human body is viewed as ''ugly'' and ''debility and disease.” Hoping to eliminate those undesirable characteristic traits, the Nacirema's only hope is to do so through ritual activities hence the shrine is built inside of every house.
An ex-US marine has shared her unbelievable transformation from a hairy-chested bloke into a gorgeous blonde beauty.
Most of the Nacirema travel to the edges of their land during the warm period of the year. They pack their vehicles with large sacks that contain food, drinks, odd-looking tools, and shiny boards. When they arrive to the edges of their land they can see water; lots of it. There are also trillions of really tiny rocks that are between the Nacirema's driving path and the water. When the Nacirema walk on rocks, they feel soft.
Miner (1956) discussed the body rituals among the Nacirema. The Nacirema are human beings, just like all other humans. They bleed, they love, they are born, and they die. However, for some reason, the Nacirema consider themselves a special breed of humans. This belief is so ingrained in their traditions and cultures that some have taken it to the extreme. Scholars have argued that the Nacirema’s inflated sense of pride stems from the greatness of their ancestors. They descended from a great group of warriors who came together and agreed on the future of their descendants. This essay will examine the Nacirema’s obsession with oil and how this informs their aggressive behavior.
Yes, I know what you’re thinking. What in the hell is the Craig Sager Curse? Allow me to expand. During this years All-Star break TNT broadcaster Ernie Johnson and Hall of Famer Reggie Miller decided to pay their respects to the late Craig Sager. They did this by rallying up a few professional ballers as well as a few celebrities to take place in a new contest; The Sager Shootout. The rules were rather simple, make a 3, $10,000 gets donated to the Sager Strong foundation. One minute into the contest they were still $370,000 short of their goal. So without much resistance, Ernie Johnson called up Stephen Curry and told him one thing. Make a half court shot and we hit our goal. Easy for the 2X MVP you’d think, right? Well, that’s actually wrong.

When you hear the name vaquita, you probably think about the word “cow” or “small cow” in Spanish, but the truth is there is an animal out there named that in English, and their numbers have been dropping treacherously low.
Popular for their distinctively simple and well crafted goods, architecture and apparel, the Shakers and the utopian villages they created continue to be a strong draw with visitors. With such a clear connection evident between their philosophy and the tangible mementoes of that philosophy, they are an important case study for anyone interested in modern, functional, high-quality design.

1.The first impression about the town of Nacirema seems very horrifying and cruel. They seem to be a culture who is focused on the outwardly appearance of their members and they are led to believe that the Human Body in the original form is ugly.Furthermore, the inhumane practices of the “Mouth Men” lead us to believe if more harm can be caused to the individual by visiting the “Mouth Men” than the ailment itself. I would feel very endangered if I was placed in such a situation as such rituals and ceremonies do not prevail in our society.
Tapirs have unique appearances and special eating habits. These unique animals look like anteaters and once in a while people mistake them as pigs. Tapirs are hoofed mammals. Hoofed mammals are just mammals with hooves on their feet. One unique quality that they have and numerous other animals do not have is their short fleshy snout. One of their not so helpful qualities is that they have poor eyesight (www.mnzoo.org/). The tapir diet consists of grasses, plants and fruits. They have been spotted going under water and eating the aquatic plants. One of the tapirs favorite food is bananas. At the zoo the zookeepers will use bananas to reward tapirs for positive behaviors (https://animal.sandiegozoo.org).
Long ago in the Warwick kingdom in England, Balthazor, the king’s enemy, went to steal the king’s precious crown. As he creeped down the hall, Balthazor heard a doorknob turning and stopped. Then he began tiptoeing because he knew someone was there. At last, he found the room where the crown was hidden. He captured the crown that was on the red pillow. Then, he snuck out of the castle.
Vineet Nayar overcame resistance to change by allowing everyone in the meeting to express their concerns. The text describes the definition of resistance of change as “an emotional/ behavioral response to real or imagined threats to an established work routine”, Kreitner & Kinicki (2013). As Mr. Nayar and his team discussed the proposed plan, he also states that after much debate they were able to move forward with the transition. “ I said very little during these discussion...Three days of debate later, we agreed to adopt the strategy I had proposed”, Kreitner & Kinicki (2013). Mr. Nayar could have tried a different approach when discussing the transition he desired for the company. However, I do not think it would have been as effective
